Sorry, I even hesitated making this thread but after the 6billion (about 3) other anime threads I have created to get new animes to watch I am pressed to find ones of a certain quality, so I shall ask you! :D

Basically I am looking for ANY anime series (preferably not focusing on schoolgirls, *cough* clannad *cough*) and having one of those epic story lines, im looking for something like Death note, Fullmetal Alchemist or Code geass, and that ends (don't want a 250+ ep long series and still going >.<) and not on this list http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Darktau now that I have placed a million (about 5) criteria on what I am looking for I shall hand it over to the Escapians.

Thanks :D

Edit: Does ghost in the shell (series, not movie) pick up to a proper storyline after stand alone complex?

Cowboy Bebop

It has everything you seem to be looking for. Link doesn't work for me so I'm not sure if its on it. But it doesn't matter, Cowboy Bebop kicks ass.

Hunter x hunter?

It's not epic but the anime has the greatest feel you'll ever feel from an anime.

I don't see the Cowboy Bebop movie on there.

WATCH THAT ONE!

You must also watch Akira, one of, if not the most popular anime movie ever.

As for series, Samurai Champloo is a 26 episode series made by the same guy that did Cowboy Bebop . It's about... well... Samurai...

And it's really, really good. Watch it.

I really enjoyed claymore.
Although I think it should be longer or that they should make another series becuase it seems to end half way through the story.

Tri-Motherfucking-Gun
Vash the Stampede is a legendary gunfighter who has destruction follow him wherever he goes.At least, that's what people think he is,until two accoutants that have be charged with finding him and making sure he keeps destruction to a minimum find him,and find they have been grossly misinformed.

It's one of the best Animes I have ever watched, and sorry if it's on the list,I have bad memory.

Bakemonogatari recently finished releasing all it's episodes. I would suggest it if it weren't for the fact that most of the characters are well...

schoolgirls.

But it doesn't really focus on school or whatever. Give it chance.

This made me angry a bit, because it really is a beautiful anime. it isnt like KAWAIIKAWAIIDESU CHANAAAAANNN, it's serious, and sad, and made me depressed. ;-; anyways.. OT vampire hunter D isnt on your list, i suggest that, since everything i would have suggested is on your list.

Elfen Lied, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Hellsing Ultimate and that's about it.

Watch preferably the Rebuilds of Eva though, they are the best version and are not fucked up, but I'd still recommend you watching the original series.

Sorry, rechecked the list and I see that you already have all my recommendations.

I demand that you give Welcome to the NHK a shot. I loved that. I don't watch anime often but that was epic enough to get my attention.

Sengoku Basara and Fate/Stay Night are good for short yet epic storylines.

That was the funny thing with Clannad. The art style screams exactly that but it manages to be emotionally involving.

Well I'm pretty much over anime in general, but I'm currently watching Le Chevalier D'Eon.

EDIT: It's about 30 episodes or so.
