Heroman
Made by Bones, the guys who did Eureuka 7 and Stan Lee ( I don't even need to explain). Follows the adventures of Joey Jones, who uses a giant robot powered by electricity to fight aliens, mad scientist, and disasters. Currently ongoing. Though it really isn't anything special, but the action and animation is good.
Now and Then, Here and there
I'm sort of biased, since I saw this first, but to hell with that Clannad, SHuffle, Air, bullcrap. I know your anime is sad, and I WON'T let you finish, but Now and Then, here and There is the saddest anime of all time. OF ALL TIME! It tells the tale of a boy named Shu, who follows a girl back in time to a place where water is scarce, and she being the key. Don't let the first episode fool you. It made me BAWL.
Arakawa Under the Bridge
The dumbest show I have ever seen, and I love it. It talks about a successful business man named Kou Ichiyama ( sp?)whose life was saved by a girl named Nino. Due to him having a MASSIVE phobia of paying favors to people, he decides to do anything to pay her back. Nino ask him to be her lover, and they start a life living under a bridge, with a bunch of other hobos and crazies, like a child who can kill you in 700 different ways, a war veteran who happens to be a nun, and a rock star hat wears a star mask on his head. Its hilarious! Also, it was oked for a second season.
Gantz
The manga is 50 times better, but the anime is good in its own way. It talks about a guy named kei Kurono who was hit and killed by a subway train along with his "freind" Masaru Kato. Rather than go to heaven or hell, they go to this room with a bunch of other dead people to fight aliens. Violence, Tits, and bawl your eyes moment filled fun!
High School of the Dead
Just started airing last week. on its second episode. About a guy named Takashi who teams up with others to fight a bunch of zombies that has infected his school. Their aren;t any super powers or anything. its in the vein of 20 Days/Weeks Later and pretty much anything made by George A. Romeo. I'd watch it if I were you.
Beck Mongolian Chop Squad
One of my favorites. About a guy named Koyuki who is bored with his high school existence who saves a dog named Beck. The owner of the Dog, named Ryosuke gives him a guitar and ask him to join his band ( Not right away though). A nice break from the break neck action.
Anything by Hayao Miyazaki
Probably not Ponyo, but Laputa, Howl's Moving Castle, Nausicaa of the Wind, Kiki's Delivery Service ( my favorite). This man is a genius.
