Trump may be loud and obnoxious and a bit crazy, but no matter what happens, Congress and the Supreme Court will be there to keep his powers in check. They have no concept of foreign affairs outside of "WAR!", "We say we're at war but not really", "currently not at war but really hate you" and "you're so far away from us we don't have any idea who you are".

"The Kims" aren't really in control though, or at least it's not clear how in control. The state is run by the military, a military which constantly tells its people that they are the strongest army in the world (which is not too far off, it is one of the largest) and nothing can defeat them. That is why the constant sabre rattling occurs, because it serves to maintain this illusion of military superiority. The danger is that it's never clear to what extent these people actually believe the rhetoric, and even if they don't it's still possible that they could be caught in their own charade and have no choice but to act. It is a very tense and dangerous situation, and not one which is particularly well suited to bravado.AccursedTheory said:

Considering how malnourished the people are, I really find it hard to believe they could manage a conflict for long. They'd probably end up asking us or South Korea for food to feed their people before it was over.

Sure, if you can make it funny. But I would say that the thing with satire is that, in order to be really funny, it needs to expose something true or genuine. I don't think most people actually know enough about North Korea to be able to do that. In fact, noone knows very much about North Korea at all.Parasondox said:
