By the Gods, yes! The Gunblade in Parasite Eve 2. It was hell to get and I was super-excited when I finally managed to get it. It sucked tremendously. It was absurdly slow and didn't do nearly enough damage to compensate for this. All that time and energy for a cool-but-useless weapon. Damn you, Square!

i have to say disgaea 3. i've heard good things about this game for some time. so i bought the game and found that it is the most tedious and repetitive drivel i have ever experienced.

My only recent example I can think of is MGS1 (recent only in the sense that I bought it off the PS store and have been playing through it more seriously than I did when it first came out) and getting stealth camoflage. Since I wanted the proper ending first, it took two playthroughs to unlock it. So I finally did and have no use for it having just completed the game twice in about a month and am a little bit bored.

GTA4 for me. That game was amazingly boring. Like they completely forgot they were supposed to make it fun. I was so turned off by GTA4 that while I'm super excited for Red Dead Redemption (or Grand Theft Equestrian, if you will) I'm still going to hold off until I read some user reviews of it.

Golden Chocobo,waste of my time!!
Yea but with the golden chocobo you got Knights of the Round, which was the best summon in the game (though it took like 8 minutes to go through all the way) plus you could double summon and then mimic the double summon and the you had like a half hour to go make yourself a snack

Stupid Lincon's rifle in fallout 3. I *hate* feral ghouls, but I went after it anyways because my friends told me how awesome it was. I'll take Dave's rifle over it any day.
The action Abe action figure was another story. Totally worth it.

The Giant's Knife in Ocarina of Time. Wait seven years and cough up 200 rupees for it to only have it break after a few sword slashes, what a total let down and my poor childish mind felt shame for falling for such a scam. But, years later when I discovered how to get the true, unbreakable sword, I felt much better and slit the throat of the Goron who scammed me! Well, not really.

Experimental MIRV in Fallout Triple (OVERKILL)

SEVA Suit in STALKER: Clear Sky (Good for anomalies, bad for bullets. Guess which kills you more often?)

2 weeks before MW2 launch:
Ooooooo, this launch trailer is awesome. Looks the game might be, too!

1 week before MW2 launch:
That new trailer with the Eminem song looks incredible. I can't wait for this game.

Day of MW2 launch:
Finally!!! This game is gonna be great!

Four hours after launch (game completion):
Well, that was a flaccid disappointment. At least I got Call of Duty Classic.

Elephant Gun in BS 2 multiplayer.
I just have to say, awesome username.

OT:

Borderlands - Every time I grabbed a boss' personalized weapon... and every time the stats wiped the smile right off my face (Granted, the boss fights were a joke, so I guess I shouldn't of expected anything more). Pfft, really, the game itself. The art style was fantastic, but they relied too heavily on mass-produced weapons (only varying slightly stat-wise) and lotsalotsa killing, overandover, constantly...

Final Fantasy XIII - So much in fact, that I haven't finished it yet... and I'm a huge Fanboy(girl).

Fable 2.

I have never been more disappointed in a game than that. The fact that I loved the first one so much is probably one of the reasons why I thought the sequel was such a downer.

I let myself get over-hyped, bought it on launch day, and beat it in a good 4 hours.

That, was sad.
You must have speedran the main quest. The thing you should know about Fable 2 is that it's like any Beth game: only follow the main quest to unlock new areas to do stuff in. The sidequests are where it's at.

Wow, it didn't take long for this to turn into a "I hate x game" thread. 3rd post.

I guess many of the guns in Far Cry 2. There were too many of them which were just slightly modified versions of guns you already have.

I lol'd.

That would make a great concept for a Zelda game.

The Red Rider in Borderlands. Really, by that time I had a weapon in every category that was better than that. I know its just an Easter Egg, but I was hoping for something cool. A lot of the weapons were like that in Borderlands, I never found better weapons than what I already had about 4 levels before Max, Just past New Haven 2nd time round.
