I bought Deus Ex for $5 from a bargain bin.
System Shock 2 for $10.
Beyond Good and Evil for $10.
Planescape: Torment for $10.

Overall, the Bargain Bin has been kind to me. I almost forget why I don't go to game stores anymore.... oh yeah, Steam. (X-com series for $15, All 3 STALKER games for $40, Portal for free, Left 4 Dead for $15, Psychonauts for $10, and many others...)

PS: If you have not tried every game listed here, do so now. Seriously. Okay, exceptions for X-Com Enforcer and Interceptor. But the rest of the X-Com series, definitely! It is a terrible shame that Planescape and System Shock are not available on Steam, as they are two of the best RPGs made; find a way to get them, by illegal methods if necessary (if you're considering stealing them from me, bear in mind I have a loaded shotgun and a loyal Deathclaw pet waiting to eviscerate intruders).

RC Revenge Pro for PS2 at Gamestizzle for a buck fiddy. Most underhyped, underrated game of all time, and easily best racing game HANDS DOWN.

I managed to get Silent Hill 3 for £10, after searching for it for 4 months, finally found it in CEX, luckily enough, I had a £10 note in my pocket at the time.

When I was around 12-ish Simcity 3000 was my favourite game. I borrowed it to a friend who, after a few weeks, brought it back to me. I put it down on the table and chatted with him a bit in front of the house. So he went home after a few minutes and got back inside, only to find my little sister dancing on the disc. Yes, indeed. I was absolutely furious, and my mum just didn't give a shit, didn't even get me a new game.

So I was sad for a bit, and during the following years I so wanted to play that game at times. I couldn't find it anywhere, and I didn't shop online yet. But then one rainy afternoon when I was 16 or so I suddenly found it in a discount bin. Oh I was oh so happy, played the crap out of it.

I was also pretty damn happy when Steam finally started selling KotOR, as I wanted to play that game for quite some time. Picked up KotOR2 not soon after that and so far I'm loving that too as well. Not sure where the hate comes from, but then again I'm not that far into the game.

Behind Good and Evil for $15 bucks and Metroid Prime for $4 ^_^

I was quite ecstatic

I'm never selling my Gamecube again
I swear that console is underrated. When my gaming budget goes down I'll sure as hell expand my GameCube collection, it's cheap as hell and I still haven't played a crapload of awesome GC games. Pikmin, Timesplitters 4, RE4, the list is long enough.

Happened to me too, and now it's happening again.

The first incident was with Hyperblade (a fucking awesome abandonware unclassifiable sports-type TPS thingy)... and now I've got no hope of finding this game. I want to do it purely out of nostalgia, I doubt it was any good. I remember it was a puzzle game played on a 2D board with squares where you try to find treasure or something... and one of them was a bone, which was worth fuck-all... and for some reason, 'carmen sandiego' comes to mind, but I'm pretty sure that's irrelevant.

I don't even know where I played that game.

I remember looking for Dark Cloud for the PS2 for ages and not finding it, after playing it on the demo disc and loving it...

Then it was there on the store shelf and I was happy :p
I have yet to find a copy in Europe. :c

Also G-Police 1 & 2 for the PS1.

Found them emulated, worked perfectly, loved them.

Except the first game, around level 13 it sortof becomes impossible

Breath of Fire IV, anytime I went to a game shop, I checked out some of their older things in case of catching a glimpse of running into this game, to which I heard was actually pretty cool. Everyone laughed at me when I asked if they had the game until one day with my buddy, I ended up finding that plus one other game I haven't seen in years.

Yes, Breath of Fire IV was awesome... >:3

I was really happy when eXile put The Bard's Tale on Steam. It was cheap (holiday sale) and because it was PC, the graphics were much better than on the Xbox. I love that game...

Also: Grim Fandango. Anyone who has played Psychonauts and not checked out the Fandango really owes it to themselves to track it down. :)

Oh, and Voodoo Vince - the only reason I still pull out my original Xbox once in a while. I had given it to my sister, missed playing it (but couldn't ask for it back, cuz she plays it all the time too), and then found it in a bin. I was happy. :)

Neither of them were very rare finds, but I found a copy of Shadow of the Colossus for like $10 and Bully for around $5 I think.

I don't care what anyone says, Bully is all sorts of enjoyable.

And of course Shadow of the Colossus is one of the best games ever. I need Ico.

Hey, I love Metal Arms! I thought I was the only one who knew about that game.

OT: I once found a download of Tyrian, an old unremarkable DOS shmup. The only thing that made it memorable for me was that it was the first game I ever played, and had significant nostalgic value.

AHHH! I forgot about that game! Now I remember the fun I had... My cousin had a knack for finding games like that!

My example would be Tomba/Tombi, which we had on a very old PS1 demo disc (like 10 years old), which my brother decided that he really, really wanted. Oh, and Kula World too. So, one night, after hearing him harp on about it for ages... we go out for takeout, and while we wait, we look in the video store as usual... "Oh, wouldnt it be funny if they had Tombi? Hahaha.. as if!" We decide to check the game section anyway.... TOMBI... we were floored! So, we hired it, and played it to death... but we did end up returning it, where it promptly disappeared... And we found Kula World on the PSN the next year!

They're rare? I have a copy, I should probably have a look through my Ps2 games and see if I can get loads for it.

Wave Racer, ps1.
Speedboat's. With jet engines. In Hawaii. In LAVA.

Also, R-Type Delta was fucking awesome. Still my second favourite game ever behind MGS3. And I haven't played it in at least ten years!
