You picked all that out of my head didn't you, ix_tab? Right down to the games that converted you!

I've never quite figured out how to be GOOD at FPS or TPS (third-person shooter? o_O) games, however. I generally play them on easy and still die all the time >_<

Yeah, I don't get why people have to stick to one kind of game. I've played everything from RPG to MMORPG, Puzzle, FPS, Survival Horror and I am thinking of getting the Ju-On "Fright Simulator" when it is out in England on the 30th. ^_^
Rent it first. The reviews have been abysmal.

The multiplayer game I have ever liked is TF2. It caused me to actually care about multiplayer (and shooters).

Funny, I've played FPS games for years (and I still love them) and only recently I've started to get into the greatness of the RPGs.

Alright good sir, you've stumbled on my second favourite Genre, I'd like to reccomend a couple of games for you. Keep in mind I'm assuming you're a PC gamer

Borderlands, admittedly it's in the First person perspective, it has plenty of RPG elemnts, but favors FPS.

Mass Effect (has a sequel coming relatively soon :3 ) Third person perspective, HEAVY Story great charecter development (Lol to the point you can get gigidy lol XD) and it's combat from a third person perspective.

Now for something in third person, and ONLY a shooter try Red Faction Guerrilla, it's very easy controls and not too hard and if the FPS bores you then you can drool at the destruction that you can cause (Go physics! :D )

To help you get used to the FPS perspective, you should play Fallout 3 (from which you have) in FP view. it may seem kinda silly bit if you get used to it then you should be able to do FPS in any game.

Key thing if you want to dip into FPS is that it's easy, you just have to try it. Let your hands/eyes used to it and it'll be like some one just flipped a switch. Also just so you know, Switching from FPS to TPS (Third person shooter) is hella easy, it's a one way street.

Enjoy! and if you get borderlands, and live near New York, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, or anything like that add me on steam and we can play Borderlands :3

I always hated RPGs (with the exception of dungeon crawlers like Diablo) until I played the original KOTOR a few years ago, which to this day remains one of my favorite games. I hated even that game at first, but after about ten minutes, I did an "on/off switch" sort of thing where one second I hated it, the next second, I said "hey, wait, this is kinda fun" and about thirty seconds later I was absolutely addicted.

God I wish that disk hadn't gotten stolen.
