Have you ever been thinking about replaying one of your favorite games but then you remember that one part you really, really don't want to play through again?

For me it would have to be anything after Downtown in Vampire: The Masquerade-Bloodlines. Those fucking warrens.

I fell I've seen a thread about this with almost exactly the same title...or wait, actually, I think it was an article.

Anyway, I remembered the Bone mid-boss in Ninja Gaiden II and said fuck it to replaying it again.

Every time I think about Tomb of the Giants as well as Bed of Chaos I begin to not want to play Dark Souls.

The Shadow Temple in pretty much any Zelda game, as they're always annoying and usually have creepy enemies.

...

And a bunch others I'm too lazy to think of at the moment.

Dragon Age: Origins has two. Wanna take a guess? The Deep Roads and the Fade. The Deep Roads just take forever to complete and are just boring, the Fade... well if you've played it you know why, boring puzzles and a stupid transformation system to name a few. Possible the fact it should never have existed.

Knights of the Old Republic 2- Nar Shadaa. Longest planet on the game and has the most confusing ass story I have ever seen. Tried to add to much making you switch from Atton to a strike team and a whole bunch of other stupid stuff. By the time you are almost done you don't even care about the story anymore.

There are probably others, but my mind is a blank.

Probably taking out the turrets on Bryyo in Metroid Prime 3.

One of the turrets needs for you to take down all of it's shields in order for you to be able to destroy it. Basically you pull levers to open the vulnerable part.

The thing is that there are respawning enemies with jetpacks that keep repulling the levers back into lock position while also attacking you. It's not easy to fight them AND pull the levers AND keep them from pulling the levers. It's just frustrating as all hell.

I mean I usually get passed it rather than rage quitting, but even then, because of it, when I get to skytown, I drop the game for awhile.

I REALLY hate the Strider Battle at the end of HL2 Episode 2. And the underground part with all the zombies in Episode 1. And any queen antlion battle in all three games (especially the one where you're running around in E2).

Oh, and lots of parts of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The wine cellar, the water level, the water monster encounter, the cellar, the encounter after you're in jail, the really dark room full of tall pillars when you're seeking out the pieces of the orb...come to think of it, I'm not really sure why I like the game at all. I guess because every other part is so awesome. And I really like Daniel's voice...

I could always get past that turret pretty easily, even in the highest difficulty. It's the first turret that I always have trouble with, the one with the armored enemies where first you have to pull down the energy cell or something, then a lever comes out somewhere on the turret and you have to pull it before it goes back inside.

You mean Hollywood. And you know you can just noclip though the Warrens, right? Takes a couple of minutes or so.

OT: Not that I can think of. I do occasionally get the urge to replay something but a specific part won't stop me, if anything, it's the length of the game that would.

Whenever I'm thinking of replaying...

Shadow of the Colossus - I remember the bull colossus that mauls you to death without letting you stand up.
Resident Evil 1 (as Chris) - I remember he has a shit inventory and I'll spend half the game backtracking.
Resident Evil 4 - I remember Ashley. And the bloody water room.
Okami - I remember it takes forever to get to my favorite part, Sei'an.
Beyond Good & Evil - I remember the speedboat races and the looter caverns and the slaughterhouse.

Try it with the restoration mod. Things make a lot more sense on Nar Shaddaa after it is installed. I love that planet.

A recent one for me, since the Fade has already been mentioned. Skyrim, Dawnguard. THE FUCKING SOUL CAIRN. The most tedious, boring looking barren wasteland with fifteen identical buildings strewn about a huge area with no reliable map markers. Makes Jiub's quest an absolute pain in the ass.

Oh, I don't mean to say it was "hard" in the sense that I couldn't easily do it, I just thought it was bullshit XD

It didn't feel rewarding or fun to play D:

Other than that the game is amazing, maybe not as amazing as the first to, but close :)

Atlantica and the Pride Lands in Kingdom Hearts 2. Love the game, but I really dislike those worlds. At least Atlantica is easy, if annoying.

Water room? You mean the one in the sewer with the bugs?

Anyway, for me it's that smelting room with the wrecking ball. Enemy after enemy keeps spawning into what is a very confinded space, all the while you have to keep an eye on Ashley and operate the wrecking ball controls to smash open the doorway. The controls which you have to operate atleast three times, and take a good number of seconds to reset.

The Fedorova battle in DX:HR as a pacifist.
Actually, any boss battle in DX:HR but especially Fedorova.

"Let's offer a pacifist playstyle, then make boss sequences that completely invalidate that choice! That can't possibly go badly, right?"

I hope they learn not to outsource boss battles ever again. Seriously.

You know, ditto, and then some. Everything after you hand over the lord vessel is just... I mean it's hard, yes, but not incredibly so; it can be overcome just like the rest of the game. They're all just... painfully boring. It feels like a chore to go through them because unless you're wrapping up a bunch of character quests or getting those last spells/weapons/whatever, there's really just nothing to see or do. At least Anor Londo was pretty.

Oh god. I remember I put my TV on mute for that part. I was embarrassed to be playing it even if nobody was around at the time.

I haven't started any new Dark Souls playthroughs in a few weeks because I don't want to go through the slog of Catacombs -> Pinwheel -> CSSR -> fighting my way out but keeping my souls -> Burg through Havel -> Undead Parish through Darkroot -> farming Forest Hunters for levelling/weapons from Shiva (-> Bligttown) -> activating Firelink Shrine lift -> opening Hellkite Bridge gate -> Depths and back.

I think the Hotel is much worse, the one where the developers said, "We wanted this part to be exiting so we gave all the enemies super awareness so you cant use stealth"

I must have restarted God Of War 3 a hundred times right after the intro.
It has the strongest intro sequences I've ever played and then it throws you down to Hades and everything slows down.

And Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
For some reason, I never remember what to do when I get to the Torvus catacombs. I've finished the game twice, it's like there's some memory wipe that just gets rid of the Torvus catacombs in my brain.

For that matter, the near-inevitability of getting stuck in any of the Metroid prime games.
"Oops, sorry, you need to access that room from the other[/] door, the one you need to walk around the entire map to get to."

Sorry game, don't have that patience right now.

I was replaying Red Dead Redemption and then I thought: Damnit, almost at Mexico. Then I quit. I curse the people who designed that part of the map. What's wrong with roads that actually go where people want to go?

And Demon's Souls, the Valley of Defilement. The first part is manageable, but when I get to the swamp I start to rage.

i have a fair few of these

skyrim - your first meeting with the greybeards. seriously, that shitty ass scripted event can just fuck off. i hated sitting through their boring ass speeches.

mass effect series - i know how me3 ends, 'nuff said

new vegas - 2 sections, anything which involves cazadors (seriously, fuck those guys), and the part where you're captured by the brotherhood.

bioshock 1 - the little sister escort section.

the witcher 2 - remembering i have to play it in a really low resolution because my laptop cannot handle it xD

god of war 3 - the massive boxes area. i hated those gay timed combat challenges inside them, took me ages to do first time around, never beat that game twice
