Has anyone ever had any moments where someone has done something (or something has happened) that has seemed so incredibly ironic that it has forced you to laugh out loud?

I had one earlier today. On a YouTube video, someone decided to respond really angrily to a guy's post. This is what he said:

"FUCK U BITCE

MAKE IT SENCE

FUCKIN MORAN"

Anyone else have something similar? I just thought of this after seeing such an overwhelming display of human idiocy and wondered if anyone else had experienced anything similar in their time on or offline.

An Indonesian politician, who strongly opposes pornography, even backing laws to make it illegal, was caught watching porn on his tablet computer.

While sitting in a parliament meeting.

Hilarious.

"Catholics are all horrible people that don't except anyone else and cause wars to kill those that disagree with them! They should all die!"

And that's when I stopped listening. I'm not a religious man, but even I found that hilariously stupid.

Gotta wonder if afterwards he was like "Wait, THIS is porn? I thought Porn was the name for those toothpicks they put in sammiches to hold them together. I hate those. Girls kissing girls while naked? That's just awesome!"

It's very unlikely, but damn. I wish that had happened.

Basically whenever my friend uses "Ironic" completely out of context, I cringe and then I laugh

Thats more hypocrisy than irony. But still hilarious.

OT: I once stayed up all night writing an essay on how kids/teens need more sleep. I was about 12 at the time.

one of my old high school friends, who is a far-right Republican, recently came out as gay. for those not up-to-date on US politics, Republicans despise homosexuals, which is strange, because limited government should equal greater personal freedom. but apparently that's not what it means at all.

also, while i agree that "ironic" is often horribly abused, i think we should all be able to agree that it covers a lot of stuff that is close enough to it's dictionary definition as to be acceptable.

*edit for clarity* also, it's much more ironic if you actually know this guy. basically, he was the stereotypical homophobic closet gay. and while i realize that's become cliche enough to hardly qualify as ironic anymore, i still found it quite delectable.

For those of us not up to date on politics, no they don't, not as a whole anyway. Their only agreeing point is that they hate new laws.

Anyway, back on topic. this one time I saw a bunch of guys having steak at an "animal rights convention". Wierd, huh?

...okaaayyy... if you're calling me out for over-generalizing, that's cool; after all, there are always exceptions. but if you're saying that the party line isn't against homosexuality, you're dead wrong. there is a very clear anti-homosexual leaning among the Republican party. hell, why do you think the "homosexual agenda" is always used pejoratively as a liberal agenda?

*edit* i see you've clarified. we are mostly in agreement.

Maybe you aren't familiar with the Log Cabin Republicans [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Log_Cabin_Republicans]? That really isn't quite the contradiction that you think it is.

Irony isn't something you "cringe in" - that would be agony.

On Topic: I would say that it is fairly ironic that virtually everyone ever who labels something as ironic is incorrectly attributing irony to situations that are not ironic, except I know what irony means; when something is so common it becomes the expected outcome, it cannot possibly be irony anymore.

Those "God hates the world." signs make me laugh and cry all at once. xD

EDIT: This is a comment to the quoted poster and a response to the original post.

I recall a thread on the Steam Forums where a guy was complaining about being VAC-banned because the wallhack he was using was supposed to be undetectable.

they're still the exception to the rule.

LCR claims to be the only Republican organization dedicated to representing the interests of LGBT Americans and their allies. The 30-year old organization has state and local chapters nationwide, a full-time office in Washington, DC, a federal political action committee and state political action committees.
and to be fair, even their statement isn't 100% true, since i've heard of 1 or 2 other organizations for Gay Republicans.

Either this is hilarious, or I don't understand the word Ironic and/or can't see how it works in this sentence.
I so hope it's the first.
But it'll probably be the second.
Oh well, it's the internet. No-one cares.

I wouldn't consider this ironic, solely because I eat meat and believe in animal rights.
I can care about the animals I eat before I eat them. It'd be ironic if it was a convention was solely for vegetarians/vegans, but otherwise I don't think it's ironic.
I care about how cattle is treated, doesn't mean I don't think it's perfectly fine to eat them. We have teeth made to eat meat. Our bodies thrive on the proteins and whatnot that we get mainly from meat. xD

it's the same level of irony as those wonderful "I don't care about this topic" comments. you don't care, yet you are willing to take the time and effort to tell people you don't care?
