On the day that it happened a housemate of a friend of mine went to his classes wearing a homemade screenprinted shirt.

Pictures of people falling out of the towers with the caption 'It's raining men!'

THAT IS TOO SOON. Also, actually shitty behaviour.

He had it forcibly taken off him by a very upset other student.

THAT, my friend, is comedy gold.

Yakety Sax can make virtually anything funny.
Lmao, the comments page for that video is full of Escapist users.
But I think we should be able to laugh at anything we want, which is why I make TOO SOON JOKES the second one pops into my head.

Does it?
Oh my that's one of the funniest things I've seen all day, it seems the more horrific the images the funnier it gets with Yakety Sax.

I make too soon jokes all the time. My last year of High School was when the V-Tech shooting happened. At that same time I was in a bible as literature class where we were assigned to make or print off a picture of a certain phrase that was given to us, mine was "a time to heal, a time to die" or something along those lines. So for a time to die my friend jokingly dared me to print off a picture of Cho, the shooter, so I went on the teachers computer and printed it off. She came back a few moments later saying she could not find my picture in the printer and asked me what it was so she could look again. I told her who it was and what he did and she just stared at me and told me to do another thing for a time to die.

She did not like me for the rest of the year.

I tried to laugh, I really did and I even get the humor (I usually crack up at even the most messed up/offensive jokes), but I just couldn't bring myself to laugh.

I'm not saying that it doesn't have an ironic humor to it, or that you'r a bad person to laugh (please go ahead if you find it funny), but personally I can't bring myself to laugh (I'm a pretty big Nirvana fan).
I honestly did not understand the negative response that came from the chat room while Gabe was drawing this comic live. There were a lot of people saying that it was too soon. To my recollection, it has been over 10 years. I appreciate he was a good guitarist and singer and that his death was semi-tragic, but we can take Cobain off the pedestal now.

On topic, I actually got in trouble for making a Heath Ledger joke a week or two after he died. My joke was something along the lines of Heath Ledger: the most famous actor you never heard about because of his acting. Something like that. I remember I was just getting a little annoyed that everyone was suddenly a fan of Heath's acting when I had never heard of him nor most of his movies until his death and everyone was latching onto him like he was Jesus.

Other people might think some jokes about tragedy are too soon, but I'm of the mind that being able to laugh at anything is wonderful. I don't care if it's my mother's death, if somebody makes a good joke about it, I'll laugh. Screw the sensitivities!

A couple of days before Jade Goodie died I said something about Darwin. Can't remember what exactly but it was probably a bad thing to do.
actually im a little ashamed to say this, but when my mum told me she died at dinner time, i just said "good" and kept eating until i saw her face XD
i felt pretty bad afterwards, it was waaaaaay too soon
when i heard jade goody had died on the radio in the morning i just rolled over in bed and started laughing. does that make me a bad person?
or more to the point, do i give a shit?
