Ok, I woke up this morning, logged onto my Steam and I suddenly have TWENTY copies of DOTA 2 to give away to people. What. The. Fuck. I don't even have half that amount of friends!

I put 6 hours into the game, uninstalled it ages ago and a while later whatever system decides to give out copies picks me... Valve you crazy

PM me if you want one I guess. I'll be sitting on them forever otherwise T_T

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that by this point there are more DOTA2 keys in existence than there are devices capable of running it.

Apparently Valve have been giving away DOTA2 copies like they gave people the plague. Not too long ago I was on a TF2 server and one of my friends was pretty much giving everyone a copy of the game.

Create an army of accounts, demote people to the Low Party Queue for weeks on end all by yourself.

Yeah, I got like, 18 of the fuckers. You'll get free copies of some games or guest passes just for owning games so that's cool I guess.

You can give them to the Dota 2 Dispenser - that's a bot that...well gives out Dota 2 copies, you can gift it your extras, too.

I got DOTA 2 just by having Steam, apparently. Never entered any keys, never bought the Early Access, but I'm fully capable of just installing it right now and I don't know why...

Dunno if I ever will play it though. Got plenty of other things to play and lately I've just been loot-festing in Diablo III, which isn't very productive to my backlog.

You can install it but you can't play. You can only spectate.

The total number of Dota 2 Keys is greater than all the grains of sand on all the beaches of the planet Earth. Anyway, if by some chance you don't have one already I think I have about 14...

I honestly don't know why Valve don't just open it up for general play, the community is large, there aren't any serious bugs, and it would be so much easier than this key system.

The DotA2 Bot is your friend; http://steamcommunity.com/id/dota2bot?l=english

If you add him, then give him all your Dotars, then they'll eventually get redistributed to people who want them.

Man, I don't get this shit. For months, I wanted a DotA 2 key. Never found one, never could get one, noone I knew had one. How is it everybody on planet fucking Earth seems to have infinity DotA 2 keys, but I can't figure out how to get one? That said, I have since stopped giving a shit. Played enough LoL in the months of failing to get a DotA 2 key that I'm sick of MOBAs for the next few years.

I've seen this thing happen to 4 different friends except that they only got 6. I have no idea what's going on.
I'd ask for a copy but I'm on Mac and I've found that I don't like and/or suck at MOBA games.

I still have a bunch too. If the hundreds already offered on this thread weren't enough than you can have mine as well. Not much to do with them since all my friends already have the game.

I have 30.

30.

I played it once.

I hated it.

Why the hell do i get like 8 every week?

We're going to be able to start using these as a universal currency soon, we must be amassing more dota2 keys than we have people

Its an interesting concept:

Create platform.
Give away copies of the E-Sport entry to get people onto the platform.
Reel them in on the steam sales for life.

I have no idea how to play these MOBAs, but I assume that if I go on strong, and berate people vigorously (and continuously) for their choices, then question their sexuality/parentage I'll be seen as some sort of desirable bat-man.

Already have a copy that a friend gave me. Sorry.

I didn't find it worth playing anyway. It's buggy as hell and it doesn't have half the personality of League of Legends.
Now, if only League of Legends had Valve's secure anti-cheating servers, at least one of the games would be worth playing.

I have succesfully installed DOTA on my toaster and my microwave.
As soon as I finished setting them up, they both immediately started insisting that the respective other sucked not only at their job but should also stop playing videogames and get cancer already.

The coffee machine on the other hand decided that it didn't like MOBAs and downloaded Hotline Miami instead.
I weep for the innocent peanut butter and the nutella who fell victim to the coffemakers cheerful madness.

My sandwichmaker on the other hand turned out to prefer LoL, which caused the toaster and the microwave both to set aside their quarrel and make fun of it.
The sandwichmaker immediately took to reddit and posted bad rage-comics about LoL being better than Dota in response.

I shudder to imagine what would happen if I actually installed Dota on my Laptop.
