I am currently living in the UK, but to put a long story shot have fallen in love with a girl from sweden, just outside stockholme. and i need ways to get there.. cheap.. very cheap.. i've been over there twice with ryan air and that in all with train travel costa around £80 but fares have gone up resently and i cant afford it anymore, i've looked into cycling to sweden which would take around 8 days and would cost £25 for food for 16 days at 4000 Kcal a day and £30 for th ferry and would keep my mind of the crippling lonelyness but i run into a problem at denmark with the bridges connecting sweden to denmark as they are tolled and donot let bikes though i've looked into hichhiking but am unsure on that as i would be going by myself if anyone has any ideas to help they are greatly appreciated.

Maybe get a taxi just to cross the bridges? Is there a shuttle bus that runs from somewhere in Denmark to Sweden? Could your love interest drive into Denmark to pick you up? Give a heart warming speech to the toll attendant about the power of love so they'll let you through? Not sure any of this helps... Never tried anything like that...

Hah, I have the opposite problem (Swede with a dame in the UK).

Anyway, it's very difficult to tell what you can do without knowing your budget.

If you're cycling into Sweden, then it's £60 for the ferry both ways, and I assume you're planning on taking food with you from the UK (because forget about going decently fed in Sweden for eight days for only £25). You'd also have to use a tent, because if you have to pay for lodging, you're better off getting a plane ticket right away.

Eight days is based upon your estimate of eight days either way, and half of those being spent in Sweden.

Furthermore, in order to get across the Öresund bridge you're looking at costs of ~£25 both ways for the trains Copenhagen - Malmö.

BEWARE of taxis in Denmark/Sweden. They are insanely expensive. (we're talking £30 for 15 minutes here)

With that being said... I did dig up a link for you with some easy googling (I'd be surprised if you haven't seen it).
It's assuming London, but... oh well. ;)

I hope that helps you a fair bit. You can't get these things for cheap, I'm sorry to say. (my wallet hates my guts)

Swap girlfriends, save money. Simple!

Seriously though, OP, I'm sure your ladyfriend could help you out a *little* - either subsidising your travel costs, or picking you up at the border, or whatever. Or alternate between you going to Sweden and her comin over 'ere.
