Ok, need some advice on something...

Right, before ya read, this ain't some crappy relationship thread! haha

Anyway, I just found out that my manager at McDonalds not only said I can't transfer to another mcdonalds for more hours, but also told them I was a shit employee and they shouldn't take me because he recieves complains from other shift managers about me because of my work, and seeming lack of training.

Not only have I never been trained, the only way I know to do anything is from watching other people do things, but get yelled at when I do anything remotely wrong.

So my mum, unfortunately, went storming in to yell at him, as he isn't allowed to say bad things about me, and he gave her bullshit that I've been fully trained etc, and that I'm never doing any work when he sees me etc. This is coming from the manager who never sees me work or anything.


ANYWAY, is he allowed to give me a bad reference?

Employers are not allowed to give bad references, but they can refuse to give a reference. Which is pretty much the same thing.

Your mum went in? Bro, you're lucky you still have your job. The McDonald's where I live would happily boot an employee for that.

For your problem... yeah that was a massive dick move, but did you have him put down as a reference? If so, I don't think there's much you can do other than hope he wasn't taken seriously.

Yeah, not my idea. and No, but for a transfer he speaks to other show, and said a bunch a shit about me it seems. And he was, I can't get a transfer, cause the other store didn't want me coz of what he said ¬¬
