Not really I just sorta needed people to post to tell me if it happened so i put up a name that grabs attention. And they Ddosd the escapist why? I thought they'd like a site like this :/

We're a community of human beings and as such, inconveniencing us provides for myriad twisted amusements, regardless of whether we are deserving.

tldr: They did it for the lulz.

They're currently "Taking requests" for targets, and using nothing but DDoS attacks, meaning they're neither working at any political goal nor achieving anything clever and pointing out security flaws. They're motivated by nothing but sadism. Sorry. A will to do things "For teh Evulz"

Perhaps you haven't read the 20 or so threads an hour we get about "Lulzsec is evil", "Lulzsec needs to be dragged out into the street and beaten with an oar", and "Lulzsec is a bunch of childish morons stroking their e-peens to images of Miley Cyrus".

To be fair I dont really read into anything involving them as it usually disinterests me. An yeah fair enough the communitie doesn't like them in particular but I thought the general message/feel of the site would be something they would appreciate.

OT: yea it happened. I was confused, then remembered the group behind the attack doesn't have a reason for doing what it does (at least no good reason). I'm also honestly not surprised that they boasted the site was so easy to take down, considering it's slow on a daily basis.

All right, these forums are the only ones I ever post in anywhere on the internet. Despite the gaming elitism and teenage angst that pervades this site, it really has become my internet home. I sort of take this attack personally, and would like to know who I need to punch. Just say the word, and I will punch the lulz right out of their faces.

Or I could just, you know, impotently rage through my keyboard (as we Escapists are prone to do).

could probably be the fact that most people here react to their news with "they should burn in a fire"

but, in the end, i know the escapist staff is awesome and it was a matter of hours when they got the site back.
