Now I'm going to go ahead and give you a minute to wipe off the liquid you decided to spit at your monitor in shock before we continue.

You good?

Okay, so here's the mean bidness: as in the sauce of all this madeness:

http://www.nickandmore.com/2015/01/19/cartoon-network-removes-steven-universe-repeats/

Right now they're pulling repeats, so all there is are the new episodes. So it will no longer run on a weekly cycle and gain the amount of exposure it needs to survive. This is fairly damning needless to say.

The main hypothesis as to why is the Young Justice reason, i.e."too many girls are a fan of this so now it's not profitable".

I'd like to believe that there is something that can be done to keep Steven Universe from falling into the abyss, so I'm trying to raise awareness for one and bring more people's attention to the show.

For starters, don't watch it online or on third party sites. Cartoon Network only sees what happens in their territory not on watchcartoononline or animefreaks or whatever. Watch it when it's on, if not, do it on the CN site.

Next, if you have the cash buy the merch. They don't see the show being profitable? Prove 'em wrong. Buy shirts, phone cases, coffee mugs; CN is a CORPORATION not a FRIEND, you make your voice heard with your wallets not your tumblr.

If you can spam CN telling them to bring back Steven Universe repeats, maybe there's is an actual ghost in the shell at CN with a touch of sympathy for the show.

Guys I really don't wanna lose this show, it's just so good on so many levels! The art, the music, the writing, the themes of it all.

The episodes where Steven gets upset about not knowing his mom, how he couldn't get sad over his mother because he never really knew here, or how he gets upset when Lars brought her up FREAKING RESONATED WITH ME. I had no idea who my mom was, she died when I was 3. Having this show say these things and going to these places is amazing.

I know this will seem like plugging or shameless fanboying, but cartoons are important to kids. They teach us a lot while being very subtle the whole way through and make us better people. Steven Universe is saying so much about female empowerment, actual feminism, body/racial positivity and diversity (the main romance is between a chubby white kid and a tall skinny indian girl, and they fuse in one episode).

It's really good, I really like it, and you really need to try it. PLEASE do something in some small part to keep this show afloat, even something as little as emailing or even writing the execs is perfect, just do SOMETHING please!

Don't generally watch TV anymore, but the few times I saw Steven Universe I liked it. Would be a shame to see it go so soon. It's way better than most the stoner demographic shit they've been pumping out these last few years.

Heh, I didn't knew there is an actual fanbase for the show on here. Don't get wrong, I don't hate the show but at the same time, it isn't perfect either. Still I do want to know the whole truth about the Crystal Gem well the stuff that happened before Steven was borned given the recent epsiodes (it look like it getting abit similar to Adventure Time in terms of undertone).

Also does the show actually have merchandise since I never really seen one but in saying so I haven't look up any Steven Universe merch online.

Still, be thankful that there is a season 2 so they can at least planned out for its final should the worse to come (well depending if they can planned out for the final or they have to cut/ skim it).

...God I hope not, it's bad enough the show is only on a few times a day, but for it to go the way to so many others before it is... a rather depressing thought. (Crosses fingers)

Only last week did I really see how much I loved this show. Funny, emotional, easy to look at, good cast of voice actors, really excellent writing and especially characters.

Normally there are enough good-enough shows on Cartoon Network for me to overlook the schedule change. But with Adventure Time still in that hiatus, Regular Show kind of fizzling out, Steven Universe is the only thing I'd turn on CN for. And now they're trying to replace Universe with Gumball, Teen Titans Go, and freaking Clarence?

It sucks. I might like this show more than I like Adventure Time, and they're lining it up for the chopping block before the conclusion of the first season.

This would be a travesty. A true travesty. The show has been getting better and better. The characters are great, the art pleasing, the voice acting is awesome, and the plot seems to be building to something big. I feel like it's a super accessible show, too. It has my favorite female characters in cartoons right now, and I would hate to see such strong representations get the boot because they're girls. Man this has me worried.

A great cartoon, I've really been enjoying it. I hope it sticks around, it really deserves several seasons.

Okay, so I'm one of those people who just spat at my computer screen having read this.
I was upset when Megus XLR was cut short, peeved when Symbotic Titan was gone. Honestly? I would be absolutely devastated if Steven Universe is canceled.
From a personal perspective I love Steven Universe. I like the characters, the slower pacing, since of humor, bigger plot, and the art style. I just got done telling a friend a few hours ago how much I enjoyed the show and how much I wished my little brother loved it as much as I do (who is Cartoon Network's demographic so it is more important that he likes it than me if I'm being frank). But more important than how much I personally like the show I think Steven Universe does some pretty important things that makes it work keeping around. Did you know this is the first and so far only orginal show to be created by a women on Cartoon Network? You can tell too due to its female representation and themes. Im not saying every cartoon needs to be like this, especially action cartoons, but I want at least one or two to be on the air.

Granted with all that said, I'm also not surprised that Steven Universe is in trouble either. Generally speaking all of the things that I love about the show also wouldn't resonate with the young boys that typically watch CN. The decline of TV viewership and the fact that Steven Universe isn't that marketable as the other shows means that this isn't shocking to me. I'm still sad about it though, and I plan to do my part to spread awareness about Steven Universe. I even plan on buying some items in the store after my next pay check. I don't want to see the show cut short, at least not until it gets a proper conclusion.

Also is it just me or do networks love to cut down really good shows? Didn't something similar happen to The Legend of Korra and Gravity Falls?

Ah, another victim to the pyre of shitty bosses deciding to axe things before their time. Doomed to join the likes of Young Justice, the Thundercats reboot, Tron: Uprising and even Invader Zim (note these are the only ones I personally am aware of, I'm sure there are a lot more). We've gone through this song and dance before and we will go through it again. The bell tolls for Steven Universe and we shall mourn its passing.

Good.

Any show that allows Garnet's hairstyle to exist without violent punishment is teaching children the wrong lessons.

I hope they don't cancel it, I was just starting to like CN again because they allowed this show to exist in the first place. If they go and cancel it, that opinion is shot all to hell.

Believe in Steven Cartoon Network!

Legend of Korra got moved online, but at least they let the series finish (Rather than cutting it dead halfway through).

Gravity Falls is still going, but Disney has a shit release schedule and regularly throws all the new episodes into limbo (for most of the cartoons not just GF). The repeats are still going strong though at the moment, and you can reliably find them in the evenings and on the weekends.

I'm not really scared of Steven's future and here are the reasons why

1- Scheduling, both At and RG ( poster boys for CN) barely air on the channel anymore and those shows aren't going anytime soon and SU is coming back on Feb 3

2- Genre, SU is a Comedy-Action which means its easier to produce when compared to Young Justice or Symbionic Titan so toy sales aren't as much compared to the other 2 and SU is doing really good in ratings

Cartoon Network seems to have a fetish for offing the few shows they have worth running to warrant a view from them.

SU is a damn good show. Fuck CN if they cancel it.

That aliens have strange hair? Geez, nit-picker. This is literally the worst excuse I've ever heard.

It seems like whenever there is a legitimately good kids show that has a huge fanbase outside of the target audience, the network cancels it.

Apparently there needs to be more room for Spongebob and Teen Titans Go!.

[small]It seems like CN has a huge thing for Teen Titans Go! and The Amazing World of Gumball. They must be really popular shows to have that much screen time every week.[/small]
