I had to try Pierce myself, just to see. It actually got it in about 15 questions. As for my original attempts...

It got Philip K Dick on the second guess. First was Vonnegut.

It took almost 30 questions, but it got it. Around question 16 it asked if my character had an animal as a nickname. Pretty sure that's where it would have had me if I was thinking of Charlie Parker. And now, into fiction I go! Let's try Scud: The Disposable Assassin.
