I beat it on the first go with Hactar, though (from the third Hitchhikers' Guide book). It seems if it doesn't know it then it just guesses various Lovecraftian monsters, kind of like the American submarine sonar contact recognition computer classifying the Red October as a whale.

It guessed Sarah Walker from Chuck, Ghost from MW2, and Grif from Red vs Blue, Nico Bellic from GTA IV, Tali from Mass Effect, and even the fucking Jackal from Far Cry 2! And Dexter, from Dexter. I gotta be more sneaky with this thing...
