Okay, so we have interracial relationships, how about intergalactic?

It's a possibility but think about it. Humans all share the same biological system so interracial isn't really odd in any way. Completely different physiology complicates things.
Also, there's also the unpleasent thought that oxygen, while being a vital part of life, could be a potent poisen to another species, and vice versa.

But I would still date an asari and would kill for Tali...

And she is essentially a human.

That's the problem with games and their "inter species" romances. Tali is a human character. She does not hold any unrecognisable beliefs, frames of reference, motives or rationalisations. She is even designed to appeal to human concepts of attractiveness (her body, especially). Sure, she is a Quarian but the reason you like her is because you identify with her humanity. Very few Aliens in Mass Effect are truly alien. This is obviously done for a good reason - and they do explain it in the lore - but we are yet to see a romance option in games with a truly "alien" character.

There are not many stories with very alien aliens. Eliezer Yudkowski's Three Worlds Collide [http://lesswrong.com/lw/y4/three_worlds_collide_08/] is probably the best example of humans meeting aliens with truly different customs and beliefs. When the characters can't even stand to interact diplomatically with these aliens, could they ever find themselves in relationships with them?

P.S. If you're interested in aliens or science fiction at all, you should go read that short story now.

Assuming we could ever related to alien species to the point where they didn't gun us down on sight. The odds of them being physically or genetically compatible would be slim to none let alone be culturally compatible enough to consider sleeping with us.

Most people would be cool with it if aliens looked like this:

But what if they looked like this?:

Not so appealing now is it? That's some fine azz Soggoth there.

What two consenting sentient beings do is none of my business I'd say, though I think humans will do just fine for me.

That would be an inter-species relationship. Intergalactic relationships would involve two individuals from two different Galaxies. Theoretically two humans could have an intergalactic relationship if they were born and raised in different galaxies.

I've got nothing against inter-species relationships, in fact I find them pretty sexy (I like exotic females at times...), but the likelihood that we would even be able to have a relationship with a real alien species? Probably pretty low, they probably aren't gonna be even slightly humanoid and their values will be, well, alien to us. But I'm always open-minded about these things.

If its not of your species its bestiality IMHO.

so my point is, spare me the details and no public displays of affection. Otherwise your bedroom your rules.

If aliens popped up now, not many people would be that interested. Give it a few generations, though, and cultures would have acclimatised to aliens being around.

Just wait until the 52nd century. Humans will be having sex with everything.

If you get this reference I love you.
Would that be Jack from that New Dr Who (except they never made such a thing cause it'd be crap)?

Problems arise from this, you assume that all other species are human-shaped, when in actually they will more likely look like something out of HP Lovecraft.
humans aren't meant to find inhuman things attractive since we cannot breed with them.
It's just not evolutionary sound.
Last time I checked Humans were not the most evolutionary sound beings.

OT: I'm barely okay with the regular wrinkly forhead aliens, nevermind the much more realistic starfish aliens (you guys are lucky I'm not linking to TVtropes), so I think i'll stay with my mediocre Human females.

I wouldn't personally as I'm into humans but considering how many weird fetishes there are I wouldn't be surprised if some people happened to have a fetish for whatever the aliens look like (and vice versa).
