Okay so what is the deal with Hatchbacks?

They no longer make a Subaru Impreza sedan and haven't since the mid 2000s. Which is a shame, because those were always my favorite

You know there's a huge difference between 'no longer make' and 'no longer sell in my country', right? Because they absolutely still make Impreza sedans.
