I don't really get the idea that remakes are inherently stupid and unneeded.

Some games just never aged that well, and it'd be fun to replay them without having to suffer the engrish translation, game breaking gameplay flaws, etc., etc.

Final Fantasy VII comes to mind. I actually like the art in the game, so the graphics aren't the biggest issue, but the translation... ugh. Also, given how much Crisis Core expanded the universe (though it didn't retcon really that much despite what people say), it'd be fun to see the original game reflecting the developments revealed in the compilation.

it's not very old, but if they gave it pretty graphics and a physics engine, Morrowind might be the best game ever.

Fuck Final Fantasy 7. That game had too much love.

I think we should remake FF8 and FF9. Those were the only titles to not have a port or a remake!

However, if we do remake 8, let's change the "draw" aspect and let's put an actual story for the villain...

Note* I like FF7. However, I just think it got all the attention it deserve. Let the other titles get a round.

Impossible creatures for the PC. it was stupendous, you were able to combine different creatures and select which creature's parts where were (Viper's body and praying mantis's claws, stufff like that) However it had a somewhat limited creature library (by that I mean some of the more exotic animals were excluded) but the main reason for a remake would be so that it can run on the newer operating systems

morrowind
What, so we can have morrowind again, but with all the interesting factions and conflicts removed (Telvanni vs. Mages, Temple vs. Nine divines), half the skills missing and leveling up made pointless by enemies that actually get stronger relative to the player?

Medievil.I love that game.
I had the PSP remake of that. Take medievil, play half the levels and poke yourself in the eye whenever you press a button.

Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake for the MSX2.

They need remakes!

Oh and sorry if this is overdone but Final Fantasy VII. That tech demo taunts me. >.>

Star Wars X-Wing and Star Wars TIE Fighter. I don't mean any huge gameplay changes, I just would like to see a version with updated graphics, and maybe X-Wing could have a threat display, which the original doesn't have but I find myself compulsively reaching for everytime after having been addicted to TIE Fighter.

the original Doom 95 series-- much as i loved Doom3, i'd love to see crisped up versions of the classic blood 'n' guts ridden games that put it on the map

Final Fantasy 8, that game would look amazing in current gen graphics, better than grungy FF7.

Oh and elite, just for the PC though.

Didn't a load of fans make a Doom mod for Doom3?

Jurassic Park: Trespasser. Now that technology is better than it was in the 90's, this game would be fucking amazing with the Dinosaur A.I. and the sound technology.... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

Legaia 2, from the PS2. I LOVED that game, except for the random battles. like the story, the cinematics, the powers, the team combos, the items...EVERYTHING but the random battles
I forget: was it this game or the first one where you had a 3 way boss battle where the strategy boiled down to: Block the entire 3 rounds until the opponent did super attack move, then use superpower from the parasite on your arm, then use a heal spell or item, then repeat the block, attack, heal pattern?

As for me I'd love to see Terranigma get a graphical update. I am still miffed that the US did not get this game and I had to play it by way of import copy and later on rom. It has been 15 years Square-Enix, get cracking. You are making Dragonquest remakes all the time.
