One could keep going on for hours.

We use BBCode here good sir, not...whatever you're trying to use. Just type [ youtube= <whatever comes after the ?v= ] Without the spaces of course. Also, glad to see another UT OST appreciater. All those newfangled UT's pale in comparison with the original UT99 don't they?

The NEVERHOOD (1996). Not an "EPIC" soundtrack, but definitely the most hummable and whimsical. If you like jazz and funny.

Timesplitters(every game really, but 2 has my favorite soundtrack) Every level has amazing music.

Just fucking amazing.

Also Twisted Metal 2. Specifically Paris.

Oh, and the following:

And, of course, Crazy Taxi. Specifically "All I want" by Offspring.
That song is Crazy Taxi.

Is Enclave old enough to fit this thread? THe PC version should be, I guess.

Anyway, I think it was definitely quite epic:

Also, Machines and Krossfire had pretty good soundtracks, fitting the theme of the games and in Krossfire's case, the species you play:

Also, Krossfire had a great intro and nice campaign victory videos:

I always loved the music in the MechWarrior 2 series. The only other one I can think of is a game most probably have never heard of. It was called Bandits: Phoenix Rising. It had a fantastic soundtrack already in MP3 format and the manual even told where they were located so you could copy them to your portable device of choice.

Oh God, there's too many of them.

The only other games I approve of are CTR and Crash Bash

I gotta stop before I shuffle through my entire library...

Most of these posts don't even qualify as old, especially OP's...

A great soundtrack that gets no credit is "The Terminator" on Sega CD, fantastic Rock music. A not too shabby game either.

Metal Gear 2 has a great arrangement of music that fits the tone of the game really well given the lack of technology at the time.

Obviously there are quite a few NES games that have memorable soundtracks, but I always really liked the Mega Drive music despite it's reputation as less powerful, it had a unique sound to it.

Homeworld!

God I love that game...
Thank you, good sir, for taking the words out of my mouth. Well, hands.

Homeworld has the best soundtrack in any game I've encountered, but that end credits sequence takes the cake. It's my favourite song ever, period.

MG1&2, Snatcher and Policenauts. Konami is pretty damn good at making good sound tracks.

I see your feeble "old" games and raise you pre-Windows '95 gaming :
This is the *most* played track on my iTunes.

But then, driving games are fun too...

And this is just the songs which aren't Iron Maiden's greatest hits...

I own the soundtracks for MGS1, 2, 3 and 4 as well as FFVII (and FFVII:AC), VIII and IX. I listen to some songs off each of them every day. And the Soul Reaver soundtrack kicks ass, it always gives me goosebumps.

Also, destruction Derby 2. I love how the disc actually worked in a cd player.
