I idolize Timesplitters 2, but it's not old yet. I remember fondly every platformer and fighter I had on N64 (except Donkey Kong, stupid glitches), and looking back further I had some really great old games on my Mac. Bugdom, Crystal Quest and the first Nanosaur particularly. I even had a chess game (MacChess) on an ancient Mac laptop that was way better than any chess game on any modern computer.

I was gonna say the Dizzy games on the Amiga - but I could still sit down and enjoy those.

Gotta be something like Pokemon blue and red, granted I know they're not that old but I was obsessed with them back when I was a kid. I tried to relive my childhood by buying Pearl for the DS but I found I'd sadly grown out of it :(

I remember playing the crap out of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening when I was a kid. I loved having a portable Zelda game because it meant I was never bored, unless the batteries died. The Pokemon games helped in that way as well.

I still play on my Mega Drive and Super Nintendo quite regularly. The two player co-op games are the best. They don't do multiplayer like that anymore. My favourite multiplayer game of all time is probably the Micro Machines games, with the cartridges you can plug controllers into. It's so much fun 4 player.

Golden Axe and all it's He-Mannish glory!
I remember going out as a little kid in pumping quarters in the game with my brother. I miss the old X-men game like that.

There's Killer Instinct for the SNES and the best thing I remember about the game was mastering all the characters ridiculously long combos [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9m8nqX9yyc8].

Also I have some great memories with Goldeneye for my N64, back when split-screen FPS game were commonplace. I tried playing it recently & I sucked. ^^

I spent hours and hours and hours and hours on Crazy Taxi, then I played it for the first time in about 8 years last month, and it was shite.

The original Spyro the Dragon games made by Insomniac, it was much more entertaining having my friends over and going through a multi-leveled adventure game rather than match after match after match after match of MW2, and we were only 6 or 7 at the time so no one had any knowledge of the "hardcore gamer pro tips" BS my friends spout a lot now during video games.

The original Baldur's Gate is still incredible, even now.

However, my main love at the moment is Flashback, if anyone remembers that. I got it off ebay and I'm playing it through now. I'm also waiting for Strider to arrive in the post.

Goldeneye OO7, Jet Force Gemini, The World is Not Enough, and Battle Tanx. I loved those games.

These were the main games I played as a kid.

I used to play spider man 2 on my gamecube, then i got it again after a couple years for my newly perchased 360. Whern I first popped it in I was surprised how much i had over looked the graphics.

Age of Mythology was the first real game i owned. It was great, still stands up today.
That was a great game.

For me personally, I'd go with Red Alert for windows 95... good times with the German version...
