Hey everyone,

I have a tough one (maybe impossible) from 1991. I've searched for articles online with various keywords, but alas no luck.

Here is the jist:
-Year 1991
-Online (required telnet over Internet IP (pre-WWW))
-Played it at college (University of Arkansas) if this helps
-Text-based MUD style
-Post-apocalyptic theme
-Used a grid (10x10 or so) to represent the terrain you moved through. Like a bird's eye veiw. Red R's were radiation zones for example.
-You built a base, upgraded security features, storage, etc. And could only save game inside your base.
-In an encounter with a mob your success or failure to hit was based on stopping a scrolling cursor as it passed numbers on line. You were given a random number from 1-5 with an ^ in superscript or subscript. Superscript meant the "to hit" line would count up. Subscript meant it would count down.

So, for example you would be shown a 4^ onscreen with a 3-5 second pause. Then the cursor would begin scrolling across the screen revealing this: .....1.....2.....3.....4.....5 and your goal was to press the space bar within a couple of periods of the given number. The higher level you were the faster the scroll. Also, the better you were with a weapon, the more periods you could miss by and still successfully hit your target. Also, you got a bonus for hitting right on the number.

Anyway, I've never seen a game take the players ability to hit into account like this and would love to find it on some throwback server out there.

Can anyone help?

-Will

To anyone who can help -- I have got a tough game to remember. It is definitely a game for DOS. I suspect it was made somewhere between 1985-1995.

My memory is hazy from hundreds of games I have played since then, so some or all of these next details may be incorrect. I will try my best.

I believe you were controlling a ball, the screen would rapidly scroll in one direction and you had to navigate the ball across narrow pathways and perfectly time your jumps (with the spacebar?) to land on distant, unconnected platforms. Countless times the thing would scroll too fast and you would go off the edge, yelling at your computer.

Unlike Marble Madness, the game was a top down view. Perhaps there were some 3D/isometric elements but primarily a top-down view. In at least one level I remember the ball(?) needed to be moved from the bottom of the screen toward the top of the screen.

The levels were a lot flatter than levels you would see in Marble Madness. So not as much height. But this game played a lot faster than marble madness.

I remember at the first menu you could select different levels. If you pressed left you would select one level, if you pressed right you would select another level, up, down, etc. And you could play these levels in any order you wanted. But if you got game over, you had to start all over from the beginning, no continues.

I remember one of the levels was primarily colored green. This game looked like EGA graphics. Maybe VGA.

I have racked my brain to come up with titles for this game. A bunch of words pop out

Incredible
Maze
Amazing
3D
Epic
Ball

My mind is going to those words, not sure why. It is not the Incredible Maze because that is for Wii, it is not the Amazing Maze, and I do not suspect this is a game by the game design company Epic. (Definitely not Epic Pinball). And its not really a 3D game (maybe slight 3D elements). So maybe all these words are words my mind is going to by associating it with other games that I subconsciously think are like this game, but the actual name of the game is totally something different.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello people!
i have trouble remembering a game i used to play in the 90's.
it was a 2d mining game, not sure if it was a side-scroll type of game. the game looked like this. character started on surface, top part of the screen, it was like a plain desert with a building in the middle, like a western bar/tavern. on the right side of the screen there was an elevator. with it the player could go down how much he wanted. and from there he started digging to the left. on his way he encountered different 'things'. i don't remember what, but at some point he kept dying because of those things. not sure: water, rocks. reviving at the surface i think and going down with the elevator again. and so on. i was 5-7 years old so i do not remember much of this game. i really want to play it again, it is really bugging me, why did i keep dying so much and what is the point of that game. btw, the character was small, had a mining helmet, and a probably a pickax. surprisingly :))
Thank you!
Probably Miner VGA. You wouldn't be the first one to ask: it was well-liked back in the day, but hardly anyone can remember the name.

ERM..... Anyone know this games / GBA games. I really can't remember what the name of that games, but I know that it started with a main character, it a boy, and his buddy fox pet. In the begining, both of them are going for a tutorial about playing some card game with element. the gameplay is like this 2 character fightning each other, i mean me as player vs a npc, each character have 3 block can summon 3 monser that have their own element (such as fire, water, earth, winf, human, wood, ETC) . For example i summon fire monster, water monster, after summon it i got fire and water element, then can use special attack to attack their monster, if no monster defending their master and it will get hurt their master hp until 0. the most remember part is after u leave the very 1st village and u will climb a mountain. Then, the boss will kidnap ur best fox buddy. that all i remember. Oh and other thing is his fox pet's element is HUMAN.

Could be Mind-Roll. That was a frustrating game, made by [strong]EPYX[/strong], and on DOS.

Or Rock'n Roll. That was primarily green, VGA-ish, and like a top-down Marble Madness.

There was a whole bunch of Oxyd games for DOS, too, which are similar (but not very colourful).

Forgive my for such an extreme fuzzy memory- but does anyone remember a game that was on Windows maybe in the late 90's early 00's, where you cared for a creature (i think an ant or an alien? could be wrong) I recall her either being purple (maybe green). One activity in the game was putting her to sleep, in order to do that you have to play this game with her where she counted sheep. This is about all I an remember lol! Hope someone can guess wth my limited clues.

The game I'm trying to figure out was a First Person Point and Click Adventure for PC, not like Myst, more like a mix of Full Throttle/Discworld type gameplay. It had a cartoony look when doing the point and click parts and you could switch to First person at anytime (I think, it's been so long.) I remember you start off in your messy bedroom and have access to your kitchen. I think your mom or your dad is yelling at you through a wall. I remember you're a blonde guy and I think he had spiked hair, the setting in the game is modern times. The last thing I remember is that you get out of your room through your window and end up falling into a dumpster where you meet some guy with dreadlocks (I think he had dreadlocks) at the beginning of the game. I'm guessing the game came out in the mid to late 90s. If anyone has even an idea of the title, I'd love to hear it, even if you're wrong. I've been trying to figure this out for years.

Hello guys,
I'm also looking for an old PC game I just can't find.
I remember playing a game about 10 years ago. In this game you would be flying an aircraft in 3D shooting lazers and destroying enemy aicraft and bases (radars, hangars, .. ) and crystals would come out of destroyed enemies. You would collect these crystals and upgrade your lazers, adding more guns, etc based on the order and color of collected crystals.
You could also shoot the landscape basically making holes and ditches in mountains.
You would start each mission on a mothership and have to land back in it to end the mission.
Thanks!

Hi Guys,

I am trying to find this game which I played in the early 2000s and I just remember it very vaguely.
The game was in 2D and on the PC, sort of like a platformer. The hero was some a man, pretty muscular if I remember correctly, I may be wrong though. You could run around freely and shoot at your enemies and had to go through various levels with very different sceneries, all with a pretty hard end boss in the end. After accomplishing a level you would get better and better weapons, like a bazooka and maybe a laser. I remember this scene very well in which I had to play against this very tall and menacing end boss which was not human, all set in a very dark scenery, kind of a lava background. The game progressed from lighter to darker atmospheres, and you didn't want to die because it would have harsh consequences. I don't remember them, maybe you lost all your weapons or had to start all over again.
I would appreciate your help very much, I/we have been looking for this game for a long time.

Hello guys!
I spent a few weeks searching for a game and finally ended up here.
So, straight to business. I'm looking for a PC game, maybe it wasn't only released on PC. It was released around 2003-2007, at least graphics looked at this age. It was hack and slash game with two main characters, a boy and a girl, you could choose one of them at the beginning of the game. The setting was kinda medieval but characters looked more like some typical anime guys with white hair and beautiful faces. And as far as I remember the plot revolved around some kind of plague or disease. So, considering previous facts I believe it was some Asian game but I don't know who the developer is.
Thanks in advance and looking forward to your reply.

Okay so here's a really old game I used to play, Excuse my fuzzy memory

All I can remember is that there's this boy and girl (I'm pretty sure they were young or maybe really short...) and one of them tries to play on the piano but fails to do so (Maybe because they don't know how or that they have forgotten how to) Even though it was just few notes it was really memorable to me until now as I can't remember it anymore, Oh and this "scene" was at the very beginning of the game

Hello everyone, I'm been trying to remember a game that I used to rent. I believe that it was either for xbox or ps2 (heck it could even be playstation for all I know.)

The most that I can remember is the following:

You go around and try to conquer forts/castles in order to find clues to a map to find a treasure. Command groups of units/monsters (trolls, ogres, demons, dragons, skeletons, spearman, archers and many others). it costs money to keep troops around (better the troop, the more money it costs). You have to leave a group of troops behind to protect the fort/castle. I believe that when you are actually in battle, it's almost like a turn based combat system in which one troop attacks at a time. Once you find enough of the clues to reveal the map, you search and dig up the treasure.

I hope that this is not too vague of a description. I remember renting it at family video (early 2000s i think), and I can't find it anywhere.

Thank you all for your help

Hello all,

I'm trying to remember the name of a game we had for (I think) the Amiga.

You'd be looking at what appears to be a New York style building, and you had to shoot enemies appearing at windows before they shot you.

May have also included hostages which you had to avoid shooting, too.

Hello! I would be really thankful if someone could tell me what the name of the game that i recall very little about is named.

I remember there being 2 Kingdoms, everything being played out in 2D i think. Im not sure but i think one Kingdom was the good one and IT was a man in charge. The other one was a bad one and i think it was a woman in charge. It was a little map. The point of the game was to conquer the villages and ships then to upgrade them, then the enemy attacks and demolish or take over. I recall something about that if you saved the game you got money, or i could be completely wrong. It was a RPG game, you had your 5 warriors and the opponent had their 5 or something like that. It was offline game.

I can't find the name of the game anywere but i am
Really grateful if someone knows, Thanks!

Reminds me of the target range level of Robocop 2.
