Okay so this is a massive shot in the dark. I played this kid in the 90's where you played this point n click game where you played as a child who was trying to capture this like golden beetle or insect in order to enter and win this best insect contest. At one point you were kidnapped I think and at another point you had to deal with chickens. It was a little bit dark at times but I loved the game and would like to play it again. I think the CD was green or something.

Hello Everyone
I hope someone can help me.
I'm looking for the name of a game - I had it on CD 1995 .
There were different guns and machines, the higher you go in the levels, the more ammunition you got and the more advanced your gun/machine. There were 9 levels and I beat the 'beast' once up to level 9. I loved to play the game with my son [btw I'm female! :) ] I am so looking to play that game again. You had to fight off this 'machine' [gun] that was also getting more advance with more guns and features the higher you moved in the levels. I think on the cd label it had the word 'arcade' too.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Thanks!!

Sorry but I can't get the picture of your game, was it a first person shooter like Halo?, or a side-scrolling game like Mario Bros.? what was the 'thing' you controlled in the game, a human? a spaceship? or just a gun? I have the feeling that you're talking about a first person shooter, could be DOOM, or Duke Nukem 3D, etc..but they are kind of mature games. What were the enemies in the game, aliens? monsters? robots? sorry but you have to specify these points.
A shot in the dark, but maybe Descent? Having "Arcade" in the name of the CD makes me think it was one of those shareware collections. The image of having to destroy a machine that shoots at you at the end of every level makes me think of the reactors in Descent, and the shareware version of Descent was almost as common on those discs as Doom.
Hello everyone again, great to see so many trying to help.

It was a shareware game - I remember that! - and you were in this spaceship thing and you got attacked by various other guns/machines from every nook and cranny and the highest level, which was 9 - had this massive spaceship and it was hard to escape it, but I managed it once and never played it again. This is a game for kids too, not adult game only. I think I got the game from a friend - actually my husband got it and he never played it, so I gave it a go. ;) No particular label -image I can recall. No aliens, monsters and robots in this game. In some levels you had bombs and all sorts dropped on to you too - as I said, from each and every corner the shooting came and you had to avoid it. The higher in levels you progressed, the more and better ammunition you got too. Thanks again.

alright, I have an game i've been dying to remember the name of. ill tell you all that i can remember from it
this is a Playstation 1 era game. it was an RPG with 2 discs. if I remember correctly, we start the game meeting our character, Mice. he's wears a red cloak and carries the family sword he got from his father. after entering our first city, he goes to defend a lady wearing pink from 2 thugs, only for his sword to break and him getting his butt kicked. He wakes up in the home of the lady in pink. you then go on a quest to get some sort of magical stone needed to fix your sword.

thats all I remember from the beginning of the game. if anyone could help me out, that'd be nice.

Descent (1994)

is the game suggested by Owyn_Merrilin. If wasn't this game, what are the differences with your game? the machines that you say were like moving spaceships? or static machines that were shooting you?

Hey guys, I am new here. Happy to find a blog dedicated for what I am looking for.

I used to play a game, which was on a computer in my school, twelve or more years ago. It was either a microsoft or linux computer (more likely microsoft 2000), the main character was a penguin, it was also the only real character worthy of men tion. It was an 8-bit game I think, 2D of course sidecraper/platformer. there were parts I remember clearly, such as going underwater in closed areas where you had to understand the paths sharks took and get past them without touching them. otherwise you are dead. I also remember there were this arch enemy, my memory is a bit hazy, but I do remember a part, where I was meant to deafeat it. it was on the other side of the screen, while we were divided by water, but this water I could not jump into because I would drown. An odd little game, I would love to find. But thus far, had no luck.

ANy help is appreciated. :)

This was probably around about 2007 but I think the game came out long before then, it was a 3d game on the computer where you played as a dinosaur type creature I believe, I've done some research and I've found croc and croc 2 but looking at screenshots of them I just don't think it's the same game, if anyone has any idea at all of what it might be I would be very appreciative.

I'm a lot older than most folks here, but there was a football game I used to play, and I can't remember if it was a PC game or not, but you would call the plays, see the action (generic football teams) and then after the play, the players would come on the screen and say things like, " good call, we almost made it" or a defensive player would say " hey don't try that again." In hindsight, it was a pretty realistic game. I'll never remember the name of it, and I'm sure this is not enough information, but just throwing it out there.

Thanks for the youtube link! Decent is a game very similar my hubby played with my son - on his lap! for hours. lol.....He got so excited now when I showed him this! haha... the game I played had a moving spaceship - not static - even mine was moving around all the time, almost like a war-type of plane. I was shot from beneath from this massive moving machine, almost like I was in the 'bush'/wild - not open space. Nothing was static.

new to the forums, and not sure if its the game you are talking about, but my father loved to play football manager (there are multiple versions). you setup and controll teams, strategies, generic football match, never heard a player talk in it though, but that may be just because my father had a really old version (2003 release).

the series started in 1992 under the name Championship Manager.

Hope this helps.

Help!
I'm trying to find a game, that I played as a kid on my PS2.
It was a racer/combat game. The vehicles were all futuristic i.e. they were hover cars, each with their own unique weapons. I seem to remember a yellow HumVee and a red/blue muscle type car along with others. There were various maps, one of which I think was an old japanese style temple and grounds. The AI, UI and graphics were some of the best I can remember in a game. I really hope somebody can help me find this game.

If it's similar to Descent, but not actually Descent, there were a few clones of it. The only one that comes to mind was called
, but there were others.

Hey, so I've been looking in all the corners of the Great and Powerful Internet to find this old japanese PC game. It was a 3rd person robot arena-sort of fighting game with 3D polygon graphics. I don't remember any names of characters, but I remember the main menu having a female angel (human) and one of the robots was a blue and white knight guy with a shield and sword and rifle. Yeah every robot has a melee and ranged weapon. I also remember a samurai with dual swords for melee and a bow for ranged, one was called Joker I think, he was the tallest and had only a Scythe as a weapon. That's all the details I can recollect. Please if anyone recognises it I will be in his debt.

hi Diablo, Thanks for the help, unfortunately not one of these. The gunships were not in buildings like in these videos - it was in a nature environment - no buildings in sight or other humans/robots/aliens etc. only you in your ship and the enemy one, which was every level a more dangerous machine with more destructive ammunition. Thank you to everybody who's trying! I will keep looking and searching. :)

Bump #1 and hopefully final! :)

~~~
Hi all. Thanks so much for this forum. I've enjoyed reading through many pages of requests and discoveries - really appreciative!
I've got a game that's been bothering me for a long time...
JRPG style, something like Suikaden/Lufia II/Terranigma graphics wise
So far the best gameplay comparison I can find is Suikaden (the original)
Latest production date would be 1996. Probably 1992-1994. Could be first generation Playstation, SNES, NES or anything older...
No CGI cut sceens - so not Seiken De... or Wild Arms, too Playstation "3d" graphics.
Like I said Suikaden reminds me of it the most - the imagery, the style of combat
But I just watched an entire runthrough of Suikaden on youtube and I didn't see this very specific scene I remember...
At some point the characters are trapped in like a pit trap.
At some point the characters participate in some sort of running event/race/have to run to get away...
Of course I could be misremembering, but those are the vivid memories.
I would have been playing this sometime between 1993-1996, I was 7-10 years old.
It was the son of a babysitter who owned it.
Thanks so much!!!
I'm trying to find a game that is on the SNES. It was a racing game kind of like Super Off Road but the camera was closer to the track. The thing that sticks out the most is you could actually make your own tracks and set the gravity. Anyone remember? This ones been bugging me for years.
Hey guys, I've been looking for a few games for a while now and just can't seem to find them anywhere.
Game One:
I remember playing this around 2004-2007 and it was a PC game. I believe it was first person and it was in a medieval setting. You would go around town looking for gold coins, I can't remember why though. At some point you would be asked questions from NPCs to get more coins or you would find them in various places around the castle village. There were certain rooms you couldn't go into in the castle, and maybe in the village. If you were caught going in those places, a guard would come in and put you in jail. From what I remember, the only way to get out of jail was to pay 10 gold coins. I don't really remember if there were puzzles or not, but it would make sense if there were.
Game Two:
I believe it originally came out for the PS1. Your character was a blue dragon who worked for the king (also a medieval setting). You worked for the king as an inventor and you had to create items to get to the next part of the game. I believe it was a side scroller. If I remember correctly there was a princess who your character hopes to impress with his inventions. I think the princess was a pink dragon.
Game Three:
I'm pretty sure I played this one around 1997. It was a preloaded game that was on our computer. I remember there being a purple background and I believe you played as a chicken. I wanna say it was a side scroller and level based. I believe it was similar to pac-man in that you had to collect some sort of dots to move on and there were things chasing the chicken.
Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. I've been trying to find these games for a while now.
I'm trying to figure out what this game is. I remember playing it as a kid at the local skating rink. It was an old arcade style game that was 2 players. It was a side scrolling game and You played as a fighter that wore something very similar to what ryu does in street fighter. As you advanced (not sure if they were power ups but I believe they were something close to that) you turned into a white wolf (not a werewolf as in a wolf on 2 legs) and gained speed and power. Iv been searching and only thing that I have found is altered beast and I know that that is not what this one was. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi All,
First time poster here and apologies for making the first post such a long shot.
I'm looking for the title of a free game I played before 2005, on my PC through the browser.
All I can remember of the game was the battling bit.
From what I can remember the game was single player 2D turn based strategy game and the object was to progress through a number of levels to reach an end location.
To do so this would involve battling your way through a number of fields against NPCS (of increasing difficulty) in a turn based fashion until you defeated them and could reach the end of that field.
Both sides started on the opposite side of the field which was 8 by 8 (I think) big squares and you typically had a few warriors to fight a few NPCs (the further you got in the game the more you would have to face). For some reason I picture the game screen being on the right hand side at the top of the browser screen.
The game play was turn based and you would move your players towards the enemies until you were in range.
Believe there were different types of "warriors", one with a sword, one range etc
Graphics were 2D and the game was very simple graphics wise and game play wise and I don't believe it is famous.
Can't remember how your warriors were moved but think it was with mouse clicks.
If anyone could help shed any light on this I would be grateful. It's absolutely torturing me.
Hi guys, can you help me to discover the name of these two games?
1- You can choose between some child, an everyone of them has a different colored robot and every robot has a special power that he throws from the chest (like paralyze or hook the monster). The game is in third person, adventure, and the graphics are colorful 3D. The characters avatars were anime-like. I remember that the chubby boy has the green coloured robot.
2- Its a first person game, that you play with a vehicle/robot and has to pass through obstacles before the time ends. You have an arsenal of weapons to help you, bust you can only go forward.
