Hi,

I hope someone knows that name of this game I played on Windows 98.

I think it was a 2D isometric Mars colony simulation game/Simcity on Mars between 1998 and 2002.

When the game starts, you are located on a colony ship above Mars and there is a menu prompting you to launch/eject the escape/colony pods. If you launch too soon, the pods will fire retroburners too soon and crash, and if you launch too late, the pods fire retroburners too late and crash or the ship in space explodes/runs out of oxygen.

The pods looked like this, but in top down isometric view: http://www.chthulhu.com/models/hab/100_0652a.jpg
If you were launched the pods at the right moment, all 4 pods survive landing, otherwise 1 or more would crash and leave a tile of rubble.

I think the in-game GUI and terrain looked similar to Life on Mars?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vajYpGgv3qM
However, the buildings were different.

To begin building, you would have to build a corridor from one of the pods. The corridors looked like this the + shaped buildings in Moonbase: http://www.emuparadise.me/GameBase%20Amiga/Screenshots/M/Moonbase_-_Lunar_Colony_Simulator_1.png
or the x shaped buildings in Outpost: http://s.uvlist.net/l/y2011/11/89809.jpg
The buildings must be constructed next to a corridor or another building similar to Moonbase and Outpost.

I think the greenhouse sprites looked like this: http://www.outofthecradle.net/WordPress/wp-content/uploads/pole_colony.jpg
or this: http://www.creativecrash.com/system/photos/000/095/261/95261/big/greenhouse3.jpg?1275254426

There were other buildings, but I can't remember what they looked like. All the buildings had the same sized footprint (occupied a tile) and all the tiles were the same size.

I think in the game, you could also build rovers that looked like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/3a/Sojourner_on_Mars_PIA01122.jpg/220px-Sojourner_on_Mars_PIA01122.jpg
The rovers were built from the pods and you used them to explore the planet. I think there was a day/night cycle, so that the rovers could only move during the day.

The game might also have been single player turn-based.

I'm sorry I don't remember much more.
I'm figuratively dying to know the name of this game.
The first thing that comes to mind is Outpost.
Thanks, but it wasn't Outpost. The game didn't have the star system map or let you choose what to take on the ship and didn't have videos. The game starts when the colony ship is already in orbit around Mars and the player must decided when to launch the colony pods.

The closest thing i could find was Hungry Red Planet, but it's an old educational game and there's no videos, no screenshots, no nothing, so i can't really check anything...
Thanks, but it wasn't Hungry Red Planet. The game didn't have any aliens or other non-human creatures.

I can't remember exactly how many years it has been since I played this game, it was either in the first few years of the 2000's or it was a 90's game.

anyway that game was some kind of competitive turn based strategy, a-lot like Worms, except you only control 1 space ship thing and you weren't able to fly but more hop from planet to planet and launch awesome weapons at your enemies utilizing the planets gravity to manipulate the trajectory of your attack, the planets were completely destructible using the good old pixel terrain destruction system. That's all I can clearly remember about the game there was some kind of hot seat system and you could face 8 or more opponents and you could change ships but I don't remember if it mattered other than cosmetically.
Bump. Haven't found anything yet on this one Ive looked through dos games lists and abandonware no luck yet.
The game played alot like worms, just in space.
edit: a new game called "Star Hogs" is pretty similar, but this one was way older and much better.

Hi people. I'm looking for two games.
The first I think was on PlayStation 1. You played a young guy with black hair in an exaggerated quiff and you had a sort of electric whip you used to grab green robot enemies and slam them back and forth on the ground until they broke. or to throw them into a spiky mangle. You had to free little green things from captivity I think. There was also a level where you are free falling down a ventilation shaft and you had to throw enemy robots that were falling with you into the walls (also while avoiding fan blades) and after each kill he shouted first "you momma!" then "Yo grand mommas momma!". Only a short title I think it may have been a number, made into the logo. My mind wants to say something like '9' or '7'

Any Ideas?

The second is a 2D Tank Battle game that I played on an Acorn Computer. You chose your weapon from a small selection of weapons that could build or destroy terrain and damage vehicles. I think it was called 'Holocaust' or something but searching for tank games with that name on Google doesn't yield the right results.

You were a big muscled man walking around the street and you could smash cars with your fists and the car work would sound and it would start falling apart. You could pick up the car wheel and start smashing the car with it too or to her stuff you find. Pipes etc.. Idk what the objective of the game was I just remember destroying cars.

I'm looking for the name of an old coin-op arcade game, it was produced in the mid 80's (it had to be between 1983 and 1986). It was a top down space shooter, where the player controlled a small ship and the screen would free-scroll depending on the where the player directed the ship (similar to Sinistar in this respect). Also like Sinistar, the ship was always in open space....no planets or terrain were visible. The only targets that I remember were these huge ships that reminded me of the Star Destroyers in Star Wars....you would fly over a top-down representation of these huge ships and blast away at mounted gun turrets, while the turrets were shooting back at you. I remember this game fondly, but haven't seen it since the 80's, and I can't remember the name of this game. Also, I only remember ever seeing it at one local arcade, so it probably didn't have as many machines in production as more popular arcade games of the time. I've googled around trying to find something matching this description, but so far no luck. =(

Hey guys I'm trying to find the name for an old school PS2 game that was amasingggg.

I cant really remember much of the game since i only rented it for a few days but it was a game about a guy who was in this weird world and you could travel though hundreds ( Maybe it just seemed like hundreds because i was young ) of portals and i think you could even put numbers/letters into some portals and it would take you to a different world where you'd fight monsters for exp and money to go back to the main world and buy items/weapons etc. You also had a weird pig looking thing you could ride and i think you could get different skins for it or buy new weird pig things to ride. This was the biggest 3D game i'd ever found on PS2 and i absolutely loved it. The game seemed pretty animeish aswell.
is Omikron: The Nomad Soul it?
Sadly not. The game im thinking of is more of a final fantasy type game thats more anime style. Thanks for the help though :)

So, I'm looking for a game that I played when I was young. I've been trying forever to figure out what it's called. It was a PC game, probably around 1998, maybe a little before or after, but definitely not after 2001 or so. You're in a house with a boy and a girl, and I'm pretty sure the girl has pink hair. You can go to the different rooms in their house and do different things. There was a canvas on the wall in the living room, and you could change the painting on it by making a new one. You played music in the barn outside with animals. There was also some kind of activity with a mailbox and a game where you guide a car through the streets. You could also do a puzzle in one of the rooms. I'm also pretty sure in the very beginning of the game, there's a rocket that shoots into space. I don't know if it's part of the game, or part of the logo type info, but I'm pretty sure it's there.

Any ideas?

Probably Win 95 game or Win 98

It is either wwI or wwII game. Strategy/Arcade. There is a red and green player with fighters and bombers. The fighting it 2D arcade sytle or an automatic "dog fight". The Strategy piece of the game is a top down map with forts, airports, factories and cities. You bomb the other side to move your lines. You either shoot down the bombers trying to advance on your area or bomb the defenses to advance.

This thread is amazing..

I'm searching for an old pc game (ms dos?), I played it in the 90's, one of those stack-the-blocks-to-get-to-the-door games, you play as a crocodile, lift the blocks over your head, the game takes place underwater, and the soundtrack is classical music. The "bad guys" are things like jellyfish that just float up and down in a vertical path. Ring a bell for anyone?

Hello guys, i can't remember the name of a game. I played it in 2006-2007 years, it's a tank game with levels, in the game i'm alone in a tank (i don't have a team or something like that) and my mission is to kill/destroy everybody who's around me and try to kill me and that's : other tanks, military cars, war planes that are shooting me from the air, and armed soldiers that are getting closer and closer, my mission is to kill them all, after that i can go to the next level. I remember that it's size is about 500-700 mb , not more... that's all i remember. Help me please !

Thanks in advance, and sorry for my english, it's not my main language.

I remember when I was a young lad, and had dial-up, i'd download these demos overnight. Well I got ahold of one demo that involved a tank-like vehicle where you went around this land battling bees and wasps. If you went out on the water, you would die. I think you had to collect either 3 keys or pyramids to go across the water. I think there was a park or maze in the middle of the map, but its been so long I can only remember pixels and glimpses of it. It was for PC, and around 1998-2004 Thank you if you can remember this, I need some real nostagia.

Okay so I'm going to give all the information I possibly can, you may go ahead and ask for certain information and I'll try my best.

The game is a PC game. I'm not sure if consoles versions were available. The game is an old game. I can't say how old, but it's sort of old.

The game's camera is third person. There are switchable characters present. The game had subtitles (or an option for them), pretty sure.

The graphics and feel of the game were sort of dull. Like, think monotonous. It was supposed to be a sad game, and I could tell it had an actual story to it. The colours were all black-white-greyish, but I can't say there were no colours in the game at all. There was a narrator present, during the cutscenes.

All the information above is something I'm dead sure of. Now for the information I'm hazy on, but I'll try my best.

At the beginning of the game, the narrator says something very much along the lines of
"This is a sad story, with a sad ending and a sad beginning, with little bits of happiness in between."

Now that wasn't the exact line, but you get the idea. It was something like that.

The playable characters (I think there were 3, but I'm really not sure about this) were a girl, a boy and a baby (really not sure, but probably XD). I think we were in an orphanage of some sort... Anyway, there were rooms, hallways and all that. Pretty sure we had objectives and we had to do tasks. Different characters were able to achieve different tasks (for instance, the baby would be able to crawl through small places). Now anything I've told you there could be vague, I'm just giving you bits of what I remember. So if you find ANYTHING close to what I describe here, please tell me.

Oh, and at one point in the game there was a man (or an old guy) throwing stuff at us. Or something.

That's all I can give for now. I hope you can help me out here! Thanks.
I'm not sure about game wise, but story and mood wise this sounds like A Series of Unfortunate Events, a children's book series about the miserable lives of three children (a boy, a girl, and a baby). Any help?
