Hi guys! First post!

This is driving me batty.

A) I'm thinking of a game that's about 15-18 years old and played on a PC
B) Turn Based
C) Evolve a civilization from being archaic to extremely advanced - particularly I remember evolving some pretty wacky technology.
D)) It was a top down view
E) It had a campaign function but also had a head to head multiplayer as I remember playing my brother countless times on it.
F) Was not Civilization or Age of Empires.

Thank you SOOO Much!
Rise Of Nations? It came out in 2003.
EDIT: But it is not turn based.
There is also Alpha Centauri, but it's futuristic.

Hi guys,

I registered just to find out what the name of this game is because it's been bugging me for years and i can't for the life of me figure out what it was!

It was for the Amiga 500 around 96-97 and it was a scrolling shoot em up game where you controlled a giant robot. You aimed and shot at the enemy with the mouse but you moved around with the keyboard. I remember it being really difficult to do both and you really needed two people to play it; one controlling the aiming and shooting and the other the movement on the keyboard.

The enemies were these small soldiers who would shoot ropes onto your robot and climb their way up and if you moved around they would swing from side to side which looked really cool and sometimes they would fall off. That's all i can remember. Any ideas?
The first game I thought of when you described the control scheme was Abuse.

I am trying to remember an old PC game, 90s I think.

It was something like civilization but not turn based. You trained archers and other units. You farmed for resources, I think it was like pumpkin type food you grew then the farmer collected it. There was a map you explored which started out black at first.

It was set in historic times as I dont think there was any guns.

I think the archer was dressed in black and units said little comments when you controlled them to move etc.

Sci-fi RTS from... late 90s or early 00s, I think. It involved your avatar character wired into a giant floating fortress thing, and you could summon (nanotech mumbo-jumbo, but with none of TA's nanite spray) jets and tanks and the like. Fully 3d (as far as that went 14 years ago, anyway), and at any time, you could take direct control of any single vehicle on the map, fighting from first-person view.
Urban assault?

That's the one! Thanks!

Hi guys!

I really need some help right now its been on my mind for a long time, wondering whats the name of "THAT" game.

Here's the things i can only remember.

Played it on PC
2D fighting/arcade/scrolling(left to right) game
1 or 2 players
fights people/zombies/vampires/robots from the future
can get stronger when buying foods at the local restaurants
lifts tires/barrels/people and throw them

and lastly the cover of the game is kinda like a picture of bunch of people with their eyes covered with black " X " marks.

That's all i can remember so far.
Thank you in advance!

So I don't have much to go on. It was a old ps 2 game maybe ps 1. I remember being able to change how my character looked and even picking a gender. It was for players anywhere between 1 and at least 4. You could level up, change weapons, and equipment. I know it was turn based and you could loot dungeons, kill other characters (like the people you were playing with), and npc. I think the point was to loot as many chest and build up your levels and equipment and possibly to actually kill everyone or collect the last bit of loot. Or something like that. The map looked kind of like how Eternal poison's fighting map does, or if you don't know that game, I think Arc the lad has the same fighting style with the square spaces and you could only move so many spaces. I know at one point I had a character with a trench coat and a gun of some sort. I am not sure about all of these details but if anyone can help it would be much appreciated. TIA.

Ok need some serious help here! This game is old, like early 90s and probably came on a floppy disk and was for DOS. It was a puzzle game where you find random objects and combine them to solve puzzles and advance. I remember a garden scene and you needed to get the gate open, and there was always a metal ball (or metal rod) you could use. My parents remember a library scene, likely the first level. I remember combining things to make acid, or using a mongoose to avoid a cobra. No idea on plot. It is not Myst but similar style, I remember pretty good detail in the scenes. Thanks for any help!!

Hi, I might sound a little vague but, here I go.

This game was a NES game, not sure if a famycom hack or what. Known facts: this was a game completely in japanese. All kenjis all over the menus. The main character was a little dragon alike character (all white) and you should think in... Shy ghosts from super mario bros meets kirby. (But, it was white). The game mecanics was to defeat enemies, with a tail hit (similar to the one that the blue dragon in Islander games gave). The enemies dropped something (not sure if coins, white orbs or what). LAter on, with those orbs, the Character was able to BUY skills. One of the skills i'm positively sure it was the flying skill. While using this skill, the character simply moved its little tiny wings and moved in an horizontal straight line. Also, while doing this, he plucked its tiny tongue out of its mouth, as if it were a :p smiley.

There was food (japanese food) all over the screen, and i'm 100% sure, the game is not "Chery cherub".

The game was more like an rpg game, the difficulty was insane and this game is driving me nuts! please help!
Any help with this one? thanks! extra info, this game used password, yes, in japanese
bump

OK, guys, here's mine:
Late 80's, early 90's. MAME or Neo Geo game (almost sure it was MAME). Two players in a suit and wearing sunglasses (I think blue and red suits, but I don't remember it properly) hunting ghosts in a platforms game. I remember you could crouch in some places to get an extra shield, which made your suit gray (the first one could be got by crouching in a London-like payphone in the first stage). One of the ghosts rode a bicycle and it was pretty similar to Gohan when he was a kid (chinese style with a similar hat and such. We used to call him bicyclist-Gohan).
Buffff found it! I had to check a full M.A.M.E. screenshot database (http://www.mamedb.com/) year by year until I found it.
If anybody is curious, the game is "Demon's world / Horror story": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDsmUeed98w

Apparently I remembered it very well, taking into account that I played it almost 25 years ago (1990) and I was just 6 years old... (including the shield in 1:36 and the bicyclist-Gohans in 16:30 :p)

Hello everyone!
Like many people on here, I made this account since I can't seem to remember the title to an old pc game I used to love.
Some details I remember are:
late 90s pc game
traveled through different periods solving puzzles
One puzzle in particular that I remember is: needed to dial 'DYNAMITE' in Morse code to finish task, the hint was transmitted through the radio
Another one would be, trying to get a specific amount of water in 1 beaker (there were 3 of different sizes)
Last one, I vaguely remember, had something to do with bowling...
If anyone remembers anything like this, that would help a lot! thanks in advance!

RTS game im 99% PC sure 1% chance it was PlayStation 1.
Your a lord or king or some kind of noble. You are in control of a group of mounted units.
You gain other units as the champain progresses. When you a member of a unit dies you have to buy replacements in the tavern after each mission.
you fight goblins, orcs and other baddies of the sort.
In the game you can recruit a red and blue wizard which unlike the other units they only have 1 person in the unit but can cast spells.
Game had diffrent missions you could take on. Remember it being semi mercenary like.
was fairly difficult game. Think 90s deffinently not after 2004.

There was a game a long time ago I played on the Super Nintendo, I know it was real but I can't find it anywhere and no one seems to know what I'm talking about when I ask them. It was a platformer, from what I remember you get to pick a character at the start of the game and I think you have to collect pieces of a time machine or something like that. It's not Mario's Time Machine. I'm afraid I don't have much else I can say than that, other than it was a 2 player co op game. Any information on this mysterious gem would be greatly appreciated.
Actually, never mind, I'm pretty sure it's Mighty Max. Though I do have another one, still on the SNES. I'm pretty sure in this one you play as a ball of some description. It's kind of a platforming puzzle game where you change into a cloud, a bowling ball and a sphere of water. I think that's right. I know you get limited transformations and have to get through a puzzle. Anyone have any idea?

> maps where top down fairly open some random trees and houses but not much that I remember
> massive amounts of units on the field at once..

I think this game was released in the 1990's. I remember that it was pre-installed in Windows 95 or 98, although it was also compatible for XP.
A typical 2D action adventure game with various levels. The goal was evident. Just shoot the aliens and progress to the next level. The main character looked like an 80's action protagonist, with a mustache, a green shirt and blue jeans, probably, maybe my memory of the colors might be incorrect. The first level started in a post-apocalyptic setting, with burning buildings and explosions. Oh, I distinctly recall that the main character used plasma grenades or something. In fact, I think that's where I learned that a word like plasma existed. He predominantly had a gun which shot bluish beams or energy blasts, whatever. Another clue might be that this game was probably a part of a package which included The Lion King and The Alladin too, I'm assuming this because I started playing all those games at the same time and I don't think I bought or downloaded them.
