Alright guys and gals, I got a three part challenge for ya, these havent been bugging me nearly as much as the game I had answered earlier, but I wouldent mind finding out what games they are and/or see if anyone else remembers them. here we go!
1~ Played a demo way back when of a game that was a first person shooter around the time post-doom, duke nukem. All the enemys were egyptian themed, low class enemies were things like Scarab's and Jackels, while other more moderate classed monsters were Anubis etc. Basic weapon was a machete which I believe you could use to cut vines to progress through certain ares, there was also a Colt Revolver for the basic pistol. Plenty of items to pick up too much like doom/duke nukem (vials for health, etc)
2~ Another demo I remember playing but never got very far in it. the game played ALOT like Cyan's "Myst" series in that you clicked arrows to move forward back, left and right from a first person perspective. The location was an Archaelogical dig, the back story being you fell into a hole into the chambers below the dig site. anyway, game was heavily puzzel based, the first puzzel you run into was a door way, when you attempt to go through a stone block slams down infront of you, and to disable the trap, there was a dial on the stone wall next to the "door" that depicted a sun and moon that you had to solve so you could pass through, there were a few of these "doors" with the same puzzel. The part that I got stuck at was there was another stone door that would only open if you solved a Musical Puzzel, the solution to the puzzel was elsewhere and you'd have to come back and arrange the notes on a staff, matching the sound you hear from the "answer" then press a button to see if the door opened, fail 3 times and the solution would reset and you'd have to start over. was infuriating but curious as to what the game was anyway.
3~ An Old side scroller platformer game with old, colorful VGA graphics. you played a little space man, jumping around the levels, and shooting laser beams at the enemies. one thing that stood out to me was all the music was the standard sample music that came with all the Tandy 2000 Computers of that day (aka, old as sin). the other thing I remember is that the boss you run into each time, couldent be killed, just had to be avoided, some large green monster that just ran back and forth with out any more complexity then that.
Alright, lets see if the community can get all three, and GO!
