Hi everyone,

I'm trying to remember the name of a game I played ages ago.
Here's what I remember:
It's a strategy game from probably 10-15 years ago (not even sure if on PC or online), you could choose to play either one of the colonizing nations of the americas or an advanced native tribe. You had to explore the map and found small native tribes that were either hostile or friendly, once you explored an entire river or found a mountain you could name it. The was something about resources and building more colonies (obviously...) and I do remeber the fighting units were infantry and cavalry.

I'm pretty sure it was turn based, but not 100% sure...

Rings a bell for anyone?

Thanks

Definitely sounds like some Colonization clone.

It'd probably help if you mentioned how old the game is. Saying that you played it as a kid doesn't tell much..

Im kinda feeling out of luck with that one....But i remembered another one if you want to help...Its nearly the same as the previous one but this one starts with 3 characters talking.Their names arent names, they are color coded prisoners i think and they fight for amusement of others if i can recal it correctly.Main character is Blue i think and with him Green and Purple at the start of the game.Combat is a little enchanced because you have a loading bar which tells you when you can use one of 3 characters. This game is a shooter game and i can remember names of some characters but thats it nothing else about this game.

Thanks, it was definitely a colonization like game but newer, with reasonable graphics. Main difference was that you could choose to play as native...
Anyway, freecol is nice but it's just not what I was looking for...

Anyone else has a clue?

It was an open-world game (i cant belive i forgot to mention that),and i remember some kind of circles that after one point in game when you stand in them you can morph into a bird and fly around.

And there where 3 characters in game that have been searching for you because of some prophecie (whats with the prophecies?) and during the archery contest i mentioned one of them notices some kind of power just before you shoot out the arrow.

I'm looking for a game like myst but not any part of that franchise where you have a small yellow animal with you. There is this part in it where you have to crawl across grass but you can only step in certain places and the grass talks to you informing you of where you can step. I have been looking for the name of this game for afew years now. I believe the name of the pet is Boog or something of that nature. I have posted here before trying to find this game. I believe its a late 90's game maybe early 2K. I also remember this spot where your working your way through a swamp and you have to grab certain items along the way to solve the puzzles ahead. Any help would be appreciated. It is defiantly not Myst or riven. Thanks in advance.

All I remember about it is that you had the eggs that you gave stuff to hold on to and it would change their appearance once they hatched. There were different types of eggs, some in a heaven like place, and hell like place. Ik this is very vauge but ik one of you had to of played it. I think it was a console game if it helps. Thanks

I'm getting a bit desperate trying to find out which game this was...

It was for MS Dos, I think I played it on a 486.

The game was kind of like street fighter but with robots / mechs / robo-girls.

You could also unlock some full screen pictures of posing manga girls, and the more you'd progress through the game the less clothes the girls would have on (not that they would reveal anything more than a boob or two).

You started in some kind of bar or lobby where you could click on different items to start the fights, or see the girls ;) ...

Any clues what this game was are welcome! After endless google searches I did not find anything : (

Thanks!!

Hey guys, can you help me find an old PC game?

All day my mind has been boggled over this stupid computer game I used to play on Windows 95 in the early 2000s but I can't think of the fucking name. And I've spent the last hour search google to no avail.

'It was a 2d cartoon game in dark colors. Like strategy/puzzle. I remember at one point you had to set up decoy radio signals to distract some dude from catching you: and there was this opening monologue that went something like:

Your mission if you choose to accept it is to find the x....probe, recover your music and get back home. You must rescue as many agents as your can, they have the code to launch the probe...
Then something about a salad bar and pepper being a better distraction than sodium chloride

Your mission, and you have no choice but to accept is to find, the x t 10 probe, in order to recover your music and... Get back home. At the salad bar finding the q chip will help. You have a nice day and remember pepper is a better distraction than sodium chloride.'

I think it had "Agent" in the name of it or something? I'm not sure.

I think it was 3rd person. It was drawn in cartoon really thick lines and such. It would go from like puzzles to point and click to cut animations scene.

Please please help me find it. I remember playing it back in 2000 on Windows 95.

I'm looking for a game. I remember playing this one on Playstation 1, back in 1999/2000. Two guys (one younger and other old) on a hot ballon falls into a island. You have to walk a little, them you find a monkey alive under a crashed yellow plane. You have to save the monkey. After that I remember a cave with "Volcano red/hot liquid". Plase, Help me! Thanks!

Hello all,

What a great idea for a thread! I hope it's okay that I registered just to make a post here. I've been trying to remember some old games from my childhood.

- This is one I have just never been able to find, and it's very frustrating! It was a top-down RPG sort of game. I think it was 3D graphics but then my mind always remembers old games appearing better than they actually did, so probably isometric 2D.

I remember there was a warrior-type bloke, and a sorceress-type lady. Can't remember if you played both at once or had to choose which one to play. There was a panel on the right-hand side of the screen where you could re-arrange armour and weapons and probably items, and it also contained a portrait of your character. You'd travel through maps of typical forestry/plains/mountains/towns as far as I can recall, finding items and killing monsters and stuff.

I just can't remember the name. I wondered if it could be some kind of "Might and Magic" game but after googling/YouTubing loads of variants of that game/name, I still can't find it! It must be something else.

I remember playing this a very long time ago, so I'd say mid-90s. Maybe a bit later... It would be amazing if someone remembers this!

Another:

- Some kind of city-building game which had a 2D, side-on view. I can't quite remember the name but I always want to say something like "Occupiers" or "Colisseum" or... something, but they're not right. I think there was a leaning tower of pisa-looking building (among others) in the background, and had people running about in the foreground. Maybe it was based in Roman times.

Also another weird thing I remember of it - it used the word 'employer' a lot. It must have been a major aspect of the game... assigning people jobs and stuff.

Also I'm pretty sure the game I have in mind is a sequel - 2 or 3? This probably would have been around the year 2000, on PC. I remember playing it at a friend's house and for some reason I'm very curious to uncover it!

And some long shots; some games I can only remember snapshots of with very little detail. But maaaaaaaybe someone out there might know...?

- A first person RPG and it wasn't an Elder Scrolls game! I remember there being a lot of green (so, outside), and I think there was a dragon somewhere that would mess you up if you ran into it. I think you'd also get in trouble with guards if you attacked someone in a town. It might have had very poor 3D graphics, and I think a little text window at the bottom of the screen that gave details (like "lost X HP" or "picked up X item") and mid-late 90s.

- A futuristic-type game where you controlled some kind of dune buggy thing, and you'd drive around shooting stuff and collecting powerups and stuff. I think you followed a dust/dirt track, but otherwise grassy fields/hills. 3D graphics, mid-late 90s!

- Surprisingly difficult to find, an old, sidescrolling Apache helicopter game. I think the background scenery was jungle-like. I remember shooting missles. This one is a bit older than the others I think, possibly on the Amiga. edit: FOUND by Zaltys

When I was younger we had an Amiga, and then a Windows 98 PC. Most of these would probably all have been on the Windows 98 PC (possibly also the one at my friend's house?). I don't think we ever had Windows 95...

Thanks!

If it reminds you of Might and Magic franchise, then maybe King's Bounty is a remote possibility. Since it was a precursor to Heroes of Might and Magic, and warrior and sorceress were two of the character choices.

That kind of sounds like Legends of Valour. But probably not, since it's widely known as one of the worst games ever.

Okay, so there is a game I remember playing on the PC when I was younger, and not being able to remember what it was called has been bothering me for years. It must have been between 1998 and 2005. The best I can describe it is that you are on an island, with a tank-like vehicle in a 3rd person view. The island is infested with giant wasps that will attack your vehicle. The mission, which I never beat (dumb little kid me...) was to find and destroy the hive, which is in front of a research building with scientists, and collect these water module things, which looked like little pyramids. You had to collect these to allow your tank vehicle to travel on water and off the island without taking damaged. You were equipped with a mini-gun and 4 missiles on the top of this vehicle. There were different difficulties, and the title screen had those wasps throughout it. For an old game it was a decent 3d environment with textures and everything. I think the game's name started with an A, and the icon sort of looked like a set of golden like gates. Might be wrong on the icon thing there. If ANYONE knows what this is, a bazillion thanks in advance for helping put this search to rest.

I think this was played on the windows 98 if I recall. 95 might be a bit too old.
Going to bump this. I know it's probably not a well known game, but somebody out there has to know! :p
Not sure if you've already found the name of the game, probably you had. I was just searching for the name today just like you and found this post. Didn't find any proper reply to it. Anyway, I did a search on google with the keywords like "pc game island wasp" and the name popped up. It is 3D Secret Mission - Abandoned Island. But alas I tried to download and play the game. I earlier played on my P4 desktop with onboard gfx proc and now playing on a i7 8 core nvidia 3GB gtx Alienware, and the game runs at such high framerate that I couldn't play. The vehicle moves lightning fast so as the wasps. Not possible to play this way, got to find a way to run on low framerate or use software emulation...

Nice topic! Very interesting reading 600 pages and still going strong!

Hmmmmmm... I have bit of a challenge for you guys :)

I used to have this old game I would play with my younger cousin, I can't remember which console it was on but I do recall it was for either the Sega Genesis or Playstation One between the years of 1997 to 2000.

All I can remember about the game is.... it was a two player game and you both had these robotic units and each player had their own base of different colors (Red/Blue) and the object of the game was to roll your mobile units into your opponents base and capture it, I can't remember if you had to capture a flag or not?

But I do remember every time when certain defenses on your base was under attack the game voice would tell you "Your Turret is under attack", the game was awesome!!

I just can't remember the name of the game though. :(

It was like a robotic chess match. :)

I wish I had more details to give you guys but that's all I can remember, hopefully someone here can fill my request, maybe one of you guys are up for this challenge?

It's been driving me and my younger cousin crazy, he can't remember the name of the game either.

But like I said it was on the Sega Genesis or Playstation One between the years of 1997 to 2000

Thanx for you guys help on this brain buster.
Hmm... don't know about the "Your turret is under attack" bit, but your description reminds me of Z [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQwVlhXAscM&list=PLiYROoHUR4Z4nTVN2WTFgX31oL_4USHAv&index=1] for the PS1.
Thanx for trying dude... but that's not the game :(

I wish I had more details too share but that's all I have :(

Guess I will never find this game again?
