Ok I have an update.

I have found the Gameboy Game, it was Ant Soldiers.
And I also may have been horribly mistaken about the platform the first game was on.
It may have been an Amiga, but all I can remember for certain is that it was on a Floppy Disc.
I found a game that MIGHT be it, and that's Gemini Wing, but I am not getting a solid feeling of nostalgia, so if anyone knows of any vertical scrolling shooting games for the Amiga then that would be fantastic.

The game itself involved flying in space (or at least not on the ground) you kind of hover there, but the graphics make it appear like your character is moving forward in space (or on the surface of some planet), on an alien-like terrain. When you press left on the pad you went left and up, kind of in a semi-circle, and when you pressed right, your character also went right and up, in a semicircle - like pattern, while you shoot at enemies. The object is to move through increasingly enemy-filled levels, and once in awhile, you will be flying and a huge boss character will loom in the distance, which gets closer and closer, and larger and larger, until at last you have to fight and beat it. Then the level changes, and the colors change, and you continue to fly forwards into a new level.
I might be way off here, but a hovering character that flies past scenery on alien worlds, and enemies that come at you from a distance...that sounds exactly like Space Harrier to me. The controls don't sound right, but it's worth a shot.

Game Console: Sega (i think)
Description: Side scroll shooter where Player 1 flies a helicopter and Player 2 drives a car
Silkworm? Was NES, rather than Sega, but had helicopter/jeep co-op.

Wasn't either of those.
Sorry guys.

Mega Phoenix doesn't have any music in the background and the enemies don't look right in Killing Machine.
I think the game had a space background or entirely black.

I played it roughly around 1995/1996 so I was pretty young then, but the things I remember the most of are the music and the scrolling style.

Hello, I remember playing a Demo on Ps2, that the demo was passed on the streets at night, and you approached people and fought them, then at the end of the fight or in the middle (I don?t remember) you could recruit them, and they would help you in your next fights. I also don?t remember if the fights were individual or in group. Any suggestions? Thanks.

HEEEEELLPPP PLEASE DX DX

I need some help figuring out the name of this old PC game I played years back. I don't recall much but this is what I do recall
You played as this young wizard and you had to go into this nearby town to do quests to be a full wizard. It was sort of Halloween themed and in each area of the town and buildings you had to find hidden socks that you'd pair up though out the game.
i think it was always dark like cloudy dark. and one area you went to was a town square with a message board in the center. Game was 2D.
Any help is appreciated

First off is a Commodore 64 game.
You are a spaceship(?) and your goal is to shoot giant bugs (Or aliens, all I can remember properly is they were big) that come down in small groups (2 or 3) from the top of the screen.
It had a really awesome soundtrack, sort of fast paced, heroic technoish music and the background was I think pure black.
I have no idea when the game was made, but I first played it roughly 1995/1996, but it's not Galaga,Insects from Space or Gaplus.

There must be at least 100 vertical shooters for the Amiga, many clones of clones from tiny software houses that didn't even make the annals of history, so it might be prudent to narrow the field a little. I recommend the advance search function at the Hall of Light [http://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?N_ref_genre_category=17&N_ref_genre_subcategory=125&N_ref_genre_theme=285&N_ref_genre_scrolltype=9] (remove a filter to get some actual results!) Have fun exploring.

I'm just going to list a few I played and remember myself, which probably won't be the exact one you're looking for, but may help to refine your search somewhat.

You've got your fast-paced early pioneers of 'bullet hell' games like Battle Squadron

Your 'dodge-the-terrain' games like Suicide Mission (I literally never got past the first level of this)

Your 'lone-firing-ship-that-upgrades-to-a-star-destroyer' games like Hybris or Xenon 2 (or vertical-scroll equivalents of R-Type and Phantom Fighter.

There are one or two that closer match your description. Frenetic has an insectoid level with thumpin' techno beats that sounds similar to what you describe (skip to around the 8-minute mark [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCRoQzGVf6E#t=8m10s]):

Others I can think off the top of my head include Jupiter Probe [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rl-zJqrzFDw], Killing Machine [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Roz8CDEEFtA] (which I'd never heard of, but was recommended it by YouTube, and I noticed it had caterpillars), Vyper [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3V-GBawBLs]/Outlands [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiAzVCN1YjU] (which both had a mostly black background but no background music)

Then again, if it turns out not to be an Amiga game, I probably can't help you ;)

I'm looking for a game that I played when I was very young, I don't know if it was a demo or a full game, it was a game with a helicopter that has "ride of the valkyries" played through it, you can also exit the helicopter and run around. And in general your job is to all kind of stuff like rescue people, put out fires and such.

I used to play this game as a kid, It was a fantasy RPG setting where the main character looked very similar to Cloud from FF7. I am not sure if it was on SNES or PS1. If I remember correctly there was a ship of some kind with a very large cast of characters you could play with. But the main character looked like Cloud that much I remember!

There was this game I played around 2002-2004, but it might have been older. It was a PC game, a 3D action game with horror elements, I believe. The setting was sort of quasi-medieval gothic demonic setting. I think you wielded medieval weaponry, and I do believe this game was 1st person. (Again, I might be wrong) I don't know if this was actually a horror game, but I was sure scared. The name was short I think, only a single word with few syllables if memory serves me right. I am pretty sure this game came on a disk, and wasn't online. The only single event I remember was fighting some demonic monsters with an axe and being tricked to go into an elevator of sorts that turned out to be a death trap.

Any games like this spring to mind? Thanks in advance.

Hey there!

I'm searching for a paticular 2D-Retro-game that I've played with my sisters around 1995-2002

here's a poorly drawn picture
http://www.directupload.net/file/d/3790/2n2etsme_png.htm

I remember these things:

- you could play 1vs1 against a friend on one PC (Windows 95, 98, ME) and choose a red or blue "ball", which was your "character". The goal was to shoot your opponent down a few times

- The game was in side view

- you could choose different fighting-arenas

- You could jump on different plattforms in that arena

- I think it was in a Christmas-Theme - the "balls" had a christmas hat (Santa hat)

- There were several weapons you could pick up, like a rocket launcher (or even a jetpack)

- There were Propellers (see picture bottom) that pushed you away if you got to close to them but you could also get through them if you had a good momentum

- I think in the main menu there was rudolph the red nosed reindeer but it hadn't got something to do with the game itself. Maybe it was just an advertising for another game

My sisters and me are searching for a few years now - so you are my last hope. Sorry for my not-so-perfect English. ;)
Cheers and Merry Christmas!

Hi!
Please help, i have like 1 dollar left on my paypal acc, i send it all to you if you find this game! seriously :D

I'm searching for a logical game, i guess it was for 98 or maybe xp. You had to move blocks with a silver character to special points to make them disappear. It was a 2 dimensional game with different planets in every level in the background, but the blocks and the character were 3D. As i remember the default character was something like a spacecraft, or maybe digging machine (not shure such a word exists), but there were some others too. There were different coloured blocks with different properties, maybe the red one couldn't have been lifted, and the green was the easiest to deal with. The last thing i remember and i'm quite shure about that when a block got to the special disappearer place, it stretched out vertically while fading out till it dissappeared (this was very satisfying to look at (and the sounds was also cool)). Yeah and there was a robot speech in every level.
Please help me, i would give anything to play with that game (of course i would give 'em my car)

My friends and I just remembered a game from our childhood but cant think of the name. Been on google for hours looking for it. It is an old game just off some website. It was a 2d side scroller with only 4 levels. You were in like a jungle in at least 1 level and you had to swing on ropes to get across gaps and get past the enemies. There were gems or some other items to collect and we believe the word Quest was in the title. Please help ASAP.

Edit: FOUND IT. The game is called DELTORA

@Felstaff

The music for your first suggestion is pretty awesome, but unfortunately it's not it.
The best things I can remember about the enemies are that they were fairly large, didn't come in swarms maybe about 3 or 4 at most and one of them I can remember the best was dark green and looked like a giant bug with a huge mouth.

I found a site that had all these Vertical Scrolling Amiga games but none of them looked familiar.
This is really hard and depressing.
Would it make things easier if I said the game was on a Floppy Disc?
Seeing as tho I was wrong about the platform once already.
