Looking for an old PC game. It was probably on CD but I can't remember. Here are the details I can remember:
- PC game
- Was a 2D sidescroller or perhaps a 2.5D sidescroller. Leaning more towards 2D sidescroller.
- Took place in medieval times. You fought with knives, swords, spears and the like.
- I think the character was a thief or an assassin or some type of Robin Hood-like character. He was basically good I think.
- Time of day during the game was very often at dusk or night. I remember having to avoid knights/guards above ground because they typically did not like the main character.
- The main character was normally dressed in black I think.
- Reminded me of a cross between the old Price of Persia and Thief games, but I am positive it was neither of those.
- What I especially remember was that a lot of the gameplay took place in tunnels and dungeons. The tunnels/dungeons were especially tricky because there were crushing pillar traps in the ceiling which you had to time perfectly to get past.
- This was a game I watched my dad play I want to say in the 90s or very early 2000s.

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas!

Looking for an old 90s PC game. I was too young to really understand the game so my details are sort of vague, but I've searched through this forum and have seen some brilliant magical discoveries. Here is what I remember as best as I can:

- PC game, set sometime in the mid-late 90s on Windows 95 or early 2000.
- It was a first person (couldn't see character), adventure puzzle exploratory game, VERY SIMILAR TO MYST/RIVEN (as far as clicking to move your location and graphic style [open landscapes/atmospheric], but we searched gameplay of MYST/RIVEN and it did not trigger anything other than "Hey, it looks like it.")
- In the game, you were able to pick up items (I can't recall how or where they were exactly...) and store them in an inventory. ONE such item was pink glass. It appeared to be a broken chunk of pink semi-translucent glass.
- The location appeared to be in the desert (there was a lot of desolation and sand and nothing except wind sounds, no foliage or water) and in the middle of said desert was some type of citadel/compound; the compound was surrounded by dark fences with an electrical gate. The electrical gate featured blue/whiteish lazers that made zappy sounds. So, when I had the pink glass in my inventory, I thought I could go through the gate if I used the pink glass item, yet I was unable to. I could not figure out how to get through the gate, nor was I ever able to figure out the use of the pink glass.
- My sister swears there was a giant bird/pterodactyl type creature that was very large and "scary" and was strapped down ("crucifix style") on some type of surface and it would cry out every once in a while. It may have been alien or robotic.
- There may have been a laboratory somewhere in the compound.
- The general environmental feel was flat, desolate, mysterious/eerie, lots of sand...I do not recall any cut-scenes or other actors. My sister and I may have played this game for less than an hour or two.

I included a picture I sketched of what I could recall, at best. I don't remember what color the sky was, but I tried:

I would be so very appreciative if anyone knows this game, as I have been googling and searching for hours and hours without success.

Probably not, but since it was so long ago, I'm assuming that you might've misremembered some details.

You, sir, win the internet. THIS IS IT. My sister and I have been tearing our brains apart to figure that out. I can't believe you guessed it. That is AMAZING. I can't believe how our descriptions were kind of off, BUT THIS IS IT. Thank you SO MUCH.

All I remember from this game is that it was a kid's game in which the main characters were mice. There were a lot of puns that had to do with cheese I think. One of the mice you met along the way was an etymologist (studies bugs). There was an island and I think evil pirate mice or maybe rats. Sorry I can't remember more I was very young
Probably a long shot, but was it perhaps anything like Marty and the Trouble with Cheese?

I saw the cover to this one game forever ago. It had this kid, and a monster behind him, and they were both doing that thing where they have their mouth open and they look all intimidating and they have their arms up in the air. I can upload a picture for reference if need be. In front of them both was a scared looking sheep. All I remember is the cover, unfortunately.

EDIT: This was a PS2 game.

I played quite a hard game as a child and have to find it so i can complete it.Third person, turn based, JRPG, Platform ps2 i think. Set in a dark themed underground world where your save-point is at a payphone at a train station of some sort. Main protagonists seem to be two agents that act as soldiers or enforcers. One wears a red coat and initiates a turn by turn based combat system by slashing an enemy with his sword. One is a more mature character with silvery blonde hair who simply kicks an enemy. Hitting an enemy first gives you an advantage and likewise if the enemy hits you.
Enemies varied from these little fluffy monster things you'd expect at the start of an rpg to massive boss type monsters.

The beginning areas once outside the underground city, were in underground tunnels, like getting from one station to another. You start in a station city and the path from one station to another is shut down so you are sent there through a more difficult route. You can find items that can be appraised at the city which makes backtracking frequent. I found the game to be rather hard as a child. If anyone has any idea I would be immeasurably grateful. Timing would be pre-2007, perhaps quite a bit earlier.

Ok So I have a super duper obscure one that no one may know. It was a shareware or freeware I am not sure. But you were a little tank on a minesweeper style grid. and you could shoot bubbles and freeze enemies as they came at you. When you took a step they took a step. And you could shoot one or three or more bubbles in any particular direction so that when they took steps, they would step into the bubbles and become trapped. Your goal was to get to a door/set of stairs on the other side of the room and continue moving down and down. You would have to collect keys to open doors and could get bigger weapons by collecting them. DOES ANYONE KNOW THIS?! It was like circa '98 or so? maybe earlier?

i played this game years ago around 1999 -2001
its a game demo that was on either the pc gamer- or the pc zone demo cd from around that time
the demo cd included hot chix n gear stix and some other games + that game i want to find (later issue had toyland racing in it) so the game was a point and shoot style game with crosshair and had several levels in it if i remember it clearely enough the game was starred in a mansion and you clicked on the door's to pick levels, one of the levels was a 1910-1930's english styled theme where you shot different objects like plates and other stuff! the name of the game included a persons name aswell as the rest of the name!

i have been researching more on this but haven't found out anything more so if any1 have any information ill be so happy :)
Note!: this is not a fps game its a game where u only have a crosshair on the screen and your character is not a playable character, its only a crosshair!!

Hey guys, I'm new here. I found this forum thread and remembered an old PC game. I barely remember any of it, so here's all I remember. So, there was multiple slides in an area and someone was stuck in one. You had to try to see which one was the correct tube. If you missed you would go through to a ball pit. I also remember the game had a side-scroller level where you had to deal with evil food or something. I hope you guys can help!

Hello, this game has been driving me crazy for YEARS! I seriously cannot figure out what game this is or anything but if anyone can figure out from my ramblings what this game is, that would be great!

But anyway,
I remember playing this game around the year 2000. The guy you played as was blue, sorta like the contra guy but only in looks alone, the game played nothing like contra. It was also on the PC and I remember running out of ammo and never being able to find anything from health to ammo.

The first boss is what I remember the most because he/it was some sorta of mecha brain/tube thing that had these tentacles that shot fire. You were also given nearly no room to maneuver around to dodge the boss's tentacles and fire as it took up nearly 2 thirds of the area when you fought it. The game's graphics were pixels, but high quality almost SNES but better.

The area is some sort of underground lab or factory and when you get past this boss you end up in what looks to be a redish desert place and you move in grids on this overworld. Think Grand Canyon like landscape. The game turns survivalish from there.

It might of been a demo of a game as well, but I don't know at all about that part or if that would even help.

If anyone finds out what this game is, I will forever be grateful and I can finally put this monkey on my back to rest.

I've been looking everywhere, based off what I remember of this game that's been bothering me for the past two years. I still haven't been able to find it and I've looked through a good few pages of this thread to no success.

I don't remember the year the game was released, nor the platform, though it's an older one. You start off in a town which I believe has 2-D sprites, and you're asked to go upstairs in this house to see someone [father/uncle/grandfather?] sick. You're asked to go to the next town for medicine after getting a sword, and when you leave the town it isn't a 2-D map view, but rather a more 3-D view in which you can see monsters in the path, I think they were blobs of sorts? It's all very vague and washed out in my mind, and I might even be mixing things up as games sometimes run together in my mind.

Hopefully someone can help and I'm not just falsely remembering it all and running in circles.

Edit: I remembered something that could possibly help with a time-frame: I either played it around the same time as Phantasy Star II, or on the same console. I don't remember exactly which one.

If someone can help me somehow...

I've been trying to remember the name of a game I've played on PSX years and years and years ago. I was just a kid, so I can't remember so much about it, but anyway.
What I can remember is that, when I used to play it, it was in japanese, so I don't know if it's a Japan only or it was released in other languages. In the beggining there was this guy you play with, black hair... in a house. Don't remember if you wake up and start playing... but, I remember a song, smooth... kind relaxing song. Annoying, I must say. So you walk around the house, and finally find someway to get out of it. If I'm not wrong, you get a sword, or something related... the "outside", in my memory, has some kind of ruins, or rocks... as walls. It's so confunsing for me. I really can't remember more about it. Also, in my mind, this guy has long hair, tho.
Plus, the cover has a kanji... but I don't remember which one, of course. If I only remembered the kanji on it... White cover or some light color. There was two discs. And oh, just came to my mind, I think you could choose man or woman to play with. Oh, oh.

I don't believe someone will remember the name of it. I don't have much information about it. I was super young when I played it. :(

I used to play this game in my pc between 2004-2007, I don't remember exactly the year, but the game should was older.
It was 2d I think and when you start you choose between two characters a wizard with blue clothes and a stick I think and a Viking with an axe.
Each of them has some powers. The Wizards powers like throw water or tornados and throw ice and the Viking power with fire and rock.
In each level you must take 3 gems ( maybe ) and also you could take some things from glass with something in there which give you new abilities.
I don't remember the levels very well but in one there were some skeletons as opponents and also there were and some elevators (from wood???)
Thanks for any help
And sorry for bad English

I have been driving myself insane trying to remember the name of this game for months. It was a game I played on the Sega Genesis in the early to mid 90's. There were two games within the game. One was a game where you played as a boy and you went fishing or something. I remember virtually nothing about that one because I rarely played it. The other one, you played as a girl, and you made your way down the outside of some sort of apartment building, jumping from balcony to balcony, avoiding enemies. One of the enemies was a woman in a window who hit you with a rolling pin. If you manage to reach ground level, you enter the building and fight a boss. I think he was a mad scientist or something, but my memory is a bit fuzzy. I'm not sure what happens after you beat the boss, I don't think I ever made it that far.
If someone can make sense of all that gibberish and knows what game it is, I would be super grateful!

I have spent the past few hours searching, and found a game called Spirou that has levels that look incredibly similar to this game of my childhood. To the point where I thought my search might be over. But it doesn't match my memories perfectly, and also it was released in 1996, which is a bit too late to fit my timeframe. If any of you knights of the internet know this game, think of the street and rooftop levels. If there are any similar, but slightly earlier games, please let me know.

Ok, usually manage to find out the answer to these via Googling keywords, but this one has me and the world's favourite search engine stumped. So here goes...

On PC back in the late 80's or early 90's I'd say. You play as a pair of eyeballs, that roams about levels collecting lollipops. You had to collect them all to complete the level. It was a 2D view, and you could create your own levels, using such tiles as travelators, ice, ladders, monsters etc. I'm pretty sure the file to launch the game was called 'cnstr.exe', but that may be a red herring, and I've had no luck searching for games called 'Constructor'.
