I'm searching for a game too. And you guys might be my last chance to find it. I'm going to use reddit-style description.

Platform(s): PC or amiga. It was launched from a blue file manager.

Genre: Cave-flyer, shoot em up in a labyrinth

Estimated year of release: 1996 or less

Graphics/art style: more than 16 colors, i think. Top-down view, 2D.

Notable characters: small spaceship, turret, bouncing galaxy thing?

Notable gameplay mechanics: you fly with arrows and can turn (instantly) and fly in all directions. Labyrinth scrolls around you. There are portals which you have to exit, usually guarded by wall turrets. I don't think there was any inertia or gravity. Turrets keep shooting all the time, but their bullets stop at some point. Your range is better so you can shoot a turret you don't even see yet (you see it's bullets stopping in front of you). Some enemies bounce off labyrinth walls.

Other details: many weird backgrounds for labyrinth. One even had daisies (I think) on it. There was a level with dozens of portals to other levels and only one correct one.
I've played in in 1996 on Spitsbergen island and I've been searching for this game since like 2002. Sorry if this is a crappy description, this is my third language.

Similar C64 games: Firefly, parallax

Hey everyone! I saw this thread and i was wondering if anyone can help me find a game my brother and i used to play on the PC!

It was an isometric diagonal side shooter. It was in 2.5D or 3D, but everything was 3D. My brother and I would play two players on the same keyboard.

The gameplay itself was very vivid. Lots of effects, explosions and fireworks. When you shoot infantry, they gib and blow into bloody chunks. The first Level was some sort of industrial level, with molten metal and ironworks in the background. The boss of that level was this huge vehicle with a buzzsaw in the middle. Huge as in it took up almost 3/4 of the screen. When you defeated this boss, hundreds of men/soldiers would fly from the center of it while it slowly explodes, and then it finally explodes into millions of pieces.

The second level was an underwater level which my brother and i never finished.

Anyone have a clue what i am talking about.

sorry but we need to know on which platform you played it, for example PC, SNES, N64, PSX, PS2, etc etc. Also, the perspective is very important (top-down, 3D, first person, third person, etc.) I say this because I don't understand the "big vertical tube" that you say..It seems like the perspective is top-down but I might be wrong.
thanks for answering.

The big vertical tube is just a spawnpoint. This game was on a PC and you drive a motorcycle from the 3-d person view
Ah ok, should be then

Hey Hey, I've been searching for this game for about 2 years now, but never got any clue. Old game, probably on PSX platform. it was settled in kinda fantasy world, wheer you got a few characters to choose. You could play it in co-op (shared tv on 2 pads i guess). You got time to complete each lvl (or stage) of walking and beating enemies in 3D, earning money which you could spend after the stage (and defeating a boss). I remember the first stage a little, It was some kind of grassy forest with a "caveman" boss at the end of stage. The guy looked like a Tarzan with huge club. The next lvl was kinda town looking and there were (?) pigs knights (probably orcs, the game was from japan i think) with halberds. When the time run out, or you got no lives left you failed. I also remember, that when I was a kid playing it for the first time in my life with my dad in co-op, I was so bad at it that I earned only a little money, enough to buy an apple to recover 10hp? and when I did it, the merchant along with my father laughed so hard at me xD so yeah, to sum up. 3D game with poor grapic, fantasy themed,, you keep walkin from left to right and beating up enemies. You got HP and money earned to spend at merchant after defeating a boss of each stage (shop was only available between stages/lvls). It was time restricted and you only got few lives. I never passed the pig knights lvl so I can't tell what was next or who was the second boss.

Hey, I'm looking for a game I played about 10 years ago, and maybe it was a little older. Here's what I remember:
-It was in 2D
-It was a PC game, from a CD I think
-You play as the main character, a young boy
-It starts with the boy riding on the back of a lion and jumping over obstacles, racing against a hunter so he doesn't cut the bridge to the jungle.
-In the jungle you have to complete different tasks to move forward
-For example passing through monkeys throwing fruit at you, or helping a panther mom find her cubs and them back to her so she lets you pass
That's all I could remember, and I really appreciate any help:)

Hi Guys,

First time on this forum. I've been looking for a game I used to play waaaayyyy back when i think on the old floppy disks lol! I obviously cant remember the title how the game included the following:

- Based in medieval times with spells
- RPG elements with a team of up-to 6 characters I think with either turn based play or pause like Never winter nights.
- You could recruit new team members once you found them and they joined your group

I don't remember too much detail but main story line was about a group of heroes that went to different map locations fighting eneies and recruiting allies. The main element of game play i remember that was different to most games was a evil black mist or fog that slowly crept up from the bottom of the world map and each time you travel it covered more of the world. Once the evil fog covered a location you could longer visit there.

Any ideas on a name or ideally a download location? Thanks again!

Okay, so I used to play a game about 6-7 years ago, it was about you being the main guard of a princesses carriage & an evil lord attacks & you get framed & put in jail, then you get as kings pardon & have to kill the evil lords minions, then he tells you to go kill a witch who is actually innocent & you end up killing him. This game was a free flash game from what I remember, if anyone knows the name, an answer would be great, thanks!

That totally sounds like the original Starcraft by Blizzard. Blue Terrans (humans), Yellow Protoss (robot like), Red Zergs (creatures/monsters).

I've been looking for this one for quite some time. It's an old one for sure (Commodore 64 or early DOS, can't quite remember).

It's an isometric view that was in black and white, or shades of greyscale (ie. no 'coloring'). You controlled a SWAT like team of four I believe where you choose one of the four to control at a time to help progress further into the area you're trying to infiltrate. You would use one team member to flick a switch located in a different location, then switch to the other team member to go through or enter an area that the switch had activated. Your team had weapons, and could jump through windows, but I don't quite remember any direct hand to hand combat. I believe it was more a stealth oriented game than a combat game.

I have a limited memory of playing this game long ago, but I always wanted to find if there was an emulated version of it that I could obtain (since it's 99.9% guaranteed no longer to be available for purchase!) to satisfy my nostalgic tendencies. Of course, first I need to know what the name of the darn thing is that I'm searching for!

Hey guys, after vigorous hours of searching for a electronic handheld game device I used to play when I was a kid, my hands are still empty. hopefully you guys can help me out.
-From what I can remember there were 2 different versions of the game(each were a separate device), A fire version and like a grass version, where you played as a fire looking dude and a mossy grass guy respectively.
-The game was somewhat of an rpg, you could train your guy in a gym, take him to a bar to eat, get books from a sort of shop, buy weapons, and fight in a arena against other monster.
This is all I can remember thanks for the help!
Just a guess but Pokemon Fire Red and Nintendo's obvious cash grab of the same game in different packaging, Pokemon Leaf Green?

I used to play this really good game on ps1 and it was about a boy whose granddad had gone missing and they lived in a windmill or something like that. And you went along all these amazing places even ending up in this really cool water palace thing and had to fight this big bad magic boss at the end. and I ADORED it. Everytime i ask someone they have no clue.

That is surreal, I registered here today to post in this thread because I forgot a game that sounds like it could be similar or the same. I remember it vaguely. It kind of had an overhead bird's eye view gameplay to it (like Diablo 3) and at one point you have a special pair of boots that allows you to jump further, but it was not enough to jump over a specific river I got stuck at. The jump was like a front-flip.

As a young kid I gave up, but I would love to remember what game it was. It was on ps1 I think or maybe ps2, but I doubt it.

Did the game you're talking about have any sort of vegetation like trees that were a part of the game and could speak? Or any other non human elements?

Thanks Diablo rules for the reply and link. Unfortunately that's not the game but it was that kind of style of old game play.
I don't know that one but this page might help https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PC_booter_games

You can sort by genre, I would expect it is in RPG or Adventure. Maybe even Action? I hope this helps.
