Just read someone else's topic being shocked at how badly Deus Ex has aged, asking if others feel the same. That's easy. For the most part, liking old games is just nostalgia. Games just keep getting better.

What's funny is that sometimes, even old, dated games are still a hoot.

Most recently for me, the Wolfenstein 3d Demo you can download on Xbox. I still remember where to get all the guns without cheating!

I also had a lot of fun playing some of the first Zelda from the NES, this time on Gamecube collector's disc.

Your favorite, replayable old games?

Does Psychonauts count? I've been playing that for the 5th time already.
If not I still hook up my Nintendo and play Super Mario Brothers when I have the patience to make the damn shit work.

Coincidentally, I just bought Close Combat: First to Fight on Amazon.com earlier today, and I still play tetris all the time, and in a few days I'm gonna borrow my friend's original Playstaion along with a copy of Final Fantasy 7.

I have always thought I'd like to play FF7. FF10 was great. Gen 5, I was an N64 guy. Gen 6 and 7 and found I had more money than time and got all 3 major consoles.

Maybe I'll pick up a PS1 on ebay.

I always make a point of playing through Ocarina of Time once every couple months and as I play I keep repeating "This is what good game design is, this is what good game design is..."

All LucasArts Adventures, Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Doom 2, Heretic, Hexen, Quake, and not long ago I could get Star Trek TNG - A final unity to run. On Windows 7! (with Dosbox of course). Oh yeah, the Lands of Lore series. Some good stuff we had back then...

I replayed FF7, GTA:SA and Oddworld: Abes Exodus recently and have to say I loved them all in compltely different ways from when I previously played them in my pre/early teens.

Something that only happens with age i guess, understanding more parody, mature jokes etc...

*Sigh from repetitiveness.* Timesplitters 2 and FP. I've answered about 4 different threads saying the exact same answer. Not complaining though
