Name:
Morrigan, the Feast of Crows

Appearance:
Usually, the Feast of Crows appears as a dark figure in the background of a scene of strife and bloodshed, cloaked in shadows and surrounded by a murder of crows. In the Dreamscape, it manifests as an attractive, androgynous being with black hair and skin as pale as a corpse, dressed in a cloak of black feathers that swirls and obscures the figure. The only thing to differentiate it from a normal human, generally speaking, is its eyes, seeing as they are black where they should be white and white where they should be colored.

When it is forced to coexist with mortals in the modern era, it prefers to take the form of a young Caucasian woman with long black hair tied up into pigtails, dressed in a black, feathery sundress, black stockings and a pair of thin, black shoes. If the weather calls for it, "she" will don a black trenchcoat over this outfit and replace her shoes with tall black boots. The only jewelery "she" wears is a silver charm bracelet that holds the spirits of Fragarach and the Ardagh Chalice in limbo unless and until she requires their skills in the mortal realm. Fragarach appears as a proportional longsword and the Cup appears as a shrunken version of itself. If "she" carries the Spear or the Stone, they appear as a stylized flame and a round marble on this bracelet, respectively.

Notable powers:
Morrigan has a certain amount of control over members of the genus Corvus. It is capable of bursting into a murder of crows to avoid taking damage or to move from one place to another quickly. In this form, while the Morrigan can harass and even blind enemies, it is difficult for it to cause fatal damage; however, it is likewise very difficult to damage Morrigan in this form (ever tried to hit a bird in flight?).

Though it has been mightily diminished, the Morrigan still holds some sway over the minds of mortals, capable of moving them to chaos and violence, though without direction.

Artifacts:
When first it felt its power over mortals diminishing, the Morrigan returned to the Emerald Isle to retrieve the mystical weapons and artifacts that it and its fellows had bequeathed to them.

First, the Spear of Lugh, that spear of flame and creativity, sometimes known as Gae Bolg, said to never miss the heart of its target and capable of summoning flames of passion in the Dreamscape.

Next, Fragarach, that blade of wind and storm, capable of cleaving through almost any material and placing the winds under the wielder's control in the Dreamscape. In the mortal realm, if its blade is held to a being's throat, that being cannot answer questions to which it knows the answers untruthfully.

Third, a fragment of the so-called "Blarney Stone," that rock of stability and force, capable of unleashing the rage of the Earth itself against the Dreamscape's denizens. In the mortal realm, it is little more than a fragment of rock.

Finally, the true Ardagh Chalice, that spirit of flowing river and cooling stream, capable of pouring forth the entire volume of the River Shannon within the Dreamscape. In both realms, it is the ultimate healing salve, capable of bringing any being back from the brink of death.

Storing the Spear and Stone in a secure part of the Dreamscape, far from the reach of mortals, the Morrigan took up Fragarach and the Ardagh Chalice and hid from mortal sight as best it could, knowing that new gods would arise and the futility of defending its position as Spirit of War. As its powers diminished, it lost the ability to retrieve the Spear or Stone without trouble, as it knew it would, though it still monitors them to ensure that they are not retrieved by some less savory spirit.

Source(s) of power:
Wherever there was grief and death and blood, there was the Morrigan. Wherever mortals killed each other, whether for wealth or for freedom, there was the Morrigan. Wherever a woman mourned for her stillborn child, there was the Morrigan. Thus, the Morrigan restains some semblance of power, though its influence has diminished greatly thanks to its fading from the public consciousness. However, it is not an evil being, feeding on the suffering and death of mortals. Rather, it is a sympatheic one, caring for the lives of mortals too dearly to allow their passing to go unmarked by something greater.

Let me know if anything more needs changed, Three.
One thing you need to change: The Gae Bolg was not the spear of Lugh the Long Arm. The Gae Bolg actually belonged to Cuchullin, the 'Hound of Culaan.' The spear of Lugh the Long Arm was called "Brionac," and as one of the 4 treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann, it had incredible powers. 1: None were able to escape its wrath, (mythology's first homing device) and two, none could stand against it. The only weapon that could stand up to it was the Demonic Sword Claiomh Solais of the king Nuada. Which gives me an idea...

(Sorry about that, I like the Irish Mythos. You might not want the Gae Bolg, as it was fairly useless, even if it was a one hit kill.)

Yes, I will make a sheet.

Hm, I was actually planning on modifying the mythos a touch, making it Gae Bolg was just the Spear of Lugh mishandled, but hey, if somebody's gonna call me on it, fair and just, I'll change it.

EDIT: By the way, you just made me very happy, especially if your character is who I think it's going to be. :D I love the Irish mythos too, but I haven't had the time to explore it in as great a detail as I'd like to, do you have any sources I could possibly use?

Alright, I did some Wikipedia-ing (followed by a thorough vetting of their sources) and have done some extension and rewrites on Morrigan. Three, I don't think I overpowered anything, but I'd like you to look over it again if that's not a problem.

Hmmm, interesting indeed... Are demons acceptable character entries?

If I am...
Name: Bael

Appearance: Sometimes appearing with the head of a man, sometimes with the head of a toad and sometimes that of a cat, sometimes all three. Whatever form he chooses for his head, it always sits atop an average sized, yet muscular frame. His Human head is of a white man with a shaven head and a sharp, almost angular face and a neatly trimmed beard.

He wears a loosely fitting black suit, 'professional' black shoes, black gloves and a blood red tie.

Noteable powers: Bael possesses the ability to turn himself and others invisible if need be, shape-shifting heads.

Artifacts: None, apart from the emblem of the Infernal powers stitched onto his left lapel in a deep red.

Source(s) of power: Bael was never worshiped per se, but he was believed in due to his connection with his eternal Master, Beleezebub, serving underneath him as a commander of 66 of hells legions. His name was praised by pagans, witches and satanists for centuries, however no he only survives on the chants of very few satanists and demon worshipers.

Please excuse the quality of the sheet at the moment, I am a little bit hungover today. Needless to say I'm going to edit it when I am back at 100%

Hey, I'm kinda new here, a friend of RootbeerJello's. Forgive me if I'm a nuisance or don't know my way around, I'm sure I'll adjust very quickly.
Anyway, here goes.
Name: Manny (representation of Mania/Maniae, spirit of insanity)

Appearance: In the real world, he is a man of average height and weight, sometimes may appear lean or skinny. Has spiky dark brown hair, moderate colored skin, and reddish brown eyes that are always darting around. Is never sleepy or lathargic, he's always getting into some sort of trouble. In the Scape, he usually wears a helmet with 5 horns going around and a leather tunic skirt that looks almost as if it is on fire. Over his torso, his trinket transforms into a swirling red metal breastplate, and his arms become muscular and have bizarre dark orange tattoos on them that seem as if they are swirling around or transforming. His tattoos may be different every time he enters the Scape.

Noteable powers: In the Scape, he can almost completely control the body of a mortal whose soul he has peered into, allowing him access to the outside world. In this way, he can also give mortals slightly superhuman powers(better stamina, faster, can jump higher, stronger, etc.) to do his bidding. In the real world, people might find discomfort when they see his face, children may cry, and women might scream. If he looks deeply into the eyes of a mortal for more than a few moments, they have been possessed, and he can make them go insane at his will at any moment.

Artifacts: He wears a trinket around his neck, it is a 50 cent piece sized swirling rock. The stone is shining red, and it mirrors and distorts the surroundings. He uses this trinket on his mortal slaves. Any mortal whose soul he hijacks gets a scar that looks like this stone on the back of their neck, and when the insanity is triggered, the mark and his trinket glow. This trinket allows him to teleport short distances in the Scape without changing his position in the real world, yet he can also use it while standing still in the Scape to go to any part of the real world. The catch is, it takes an hour between teleports to recharge, and if it is a very long distance he will need to charge for longer. If the charge is powerful enough, he may teleport another or a group. If he has many mortals hijacked, he can use the souls as fuel for his teleportation. This may turn the mortal into a ghost, which tries to find Manny in parts of the real world and get in his way. These ghosts can free an insane human if they stop Manny from completing a task.

Source(s) of power: As more and more mortals go insane, he gains more power. As he possesses more and more mortals, his trinket glows brighter and he gets more power. He can get an extremely large amount of power by using pure mortal soul as fuel.

Other: He has a significant other called Alyssa (originally Lyssa, the spirit of rabies and frenzy) who lives in the Scape permanently. He often visits her, but their relationship is very bipolar. She has some influence over him and can sometimes use his powers for herself. She holds an anti-trinket, which if used by a very spiritual and psychological being can set an amount of souls free, leaving the mortal completely sane.

Reminds me a hell of a lot of American Gods. Which was awesome.

Which is a roundabout way of saying "count me in!" if you'll have me.

Name: Ares, Greek God of War. Goes by the Andreas Hadrian when among mortals.

Appearance: In the mortal world Ares resembles a muscular young man - with a headful of close cropped black hair, shining emerald green eyes and a handsome, eager face. He dresses mostly in military surplus - combat boots, camo pants, etc and moves with the grace of one well trained in the martial arts, and the cautious posture of a warrior - arms often crossed over his chest and never resting in his pockets.

In the DreamScape Ares changes little, still looking the part of an excited youth being shipped off to war. Here though, his skin is marred with scars from bullets, arrows, blades, fires and sharpnel and his military-surplus clothing is exchanged for a dented and marred suit of bronze armor in the style of the ancient Greeks with a large, tattered red plume on the helm. He carries a battered shield and a shortspear whose head seems to be prepetually adorned with fresh blood.

Noteable powers: As a god of battle, war, and courage Ares is inuitively skilled in combat with any weapon, without weapons and using mundane objects as weapons. He can pick up a weapon he's never touched before (rare for a god, heh!) and know immediately how best to utilize it. He also has a minor ability to bolster the morale of nearby mortals, inspiring them to feats of courage - particularly in the cases of defense, rebellion, and integrity. This is not to the extent of being able to incite unarmed civillians to charge armed soldiers and tanks head-on, however.

Artifacts:

Shield and Spear - Ares' artifacts and keepsakes are his shield and spear - in the Dreamscape they are exactly that, battered and bloodied versions of the old Grecian weapons, unnaturally sturdy, light and lethal despite appearances. In the real world, however, they take the appearance of a more modern "shield" and "spear" - his shield becomes a kevlar vest and the spear a pistol - the make and model of the weapon varies (and has changed over time - in Colonial era it was a flintlock pistol, during the second World War it was an M1911, etc.) but like their Dreamscape equivalent the vest and pistol are unnaturally resilient to harm, light, and lethal.

Unlike their dreamscape equivalents however, they are limited by their make and design in the real world - the "Spear" requires ammunition in the real world, and the "Shield" can only stop bullets (even if it is exceptionally good at that compared to a similarly concealable kevlar vest) and like a normal vest will be unable to do very much against a knife or sword.

Source(s) of power: War and courage are ancient qualities of mankind, and though modern man would like to pretend that has left the barbarity of war behind, the last century of humanity was marked by the two greatest wars in all of it's history. Even to this day the world remains embroiled in smaller-scale conflicts, from rebellions and civil wars in Third World nations to First World nations' "Police Actions", "Wars on Terror/Drugs/Crime" and so on. Though abandoned by-and-large by the Greek people and brought up merely as a figure in myths and legends of old rather than something to be worshiped, humanity's insatiable lust for bloody conflict is more than enough to sustain Ares.
Well spotted ;) Good sheet, too. No edits needed.

Here is my character submission please tell me if there are any changes that should be made
Name: Jason Elric in mortal guise, Hephaestus of the Greek Gods

Appearance: When he mingles with mortals he prefers to take the appearance of a muscular older man with black hair. Though he is lame In his right leg he carries a stick to help him travel. When he is controlling fire his eyes tend to turn red and start to glow. His stick is actually a hammer that he forged and when he needs to it can change to a hammer or a maul. He also carries a small necklace on which has an anvil on it, the anvil can expand to full size when he needs it. When he is in Dreamscape his clothing changes to a suit of armor similar to the armor of the ancient Greeks but more ornate since he designed it.

Notable powers: He has some control over fire and volcanoes but this has been severely weakened since he has stopped being worshipped. He was also at the height of his power able to influence the technologic advancements of the mortals but he suspects he will never be able to again.

Artifacts: He still carries his hammer that he has used since the first time he forged an item but now carries it as a walking stick in the mortal world. He can change it to his hammer or length it into a maul if he needs to. He also carries a small necklace with an anvil upon it. This can change into a full sized anvil when he needs it.

Source(s) of power: Hephaestus gains power from volcanoes and from the prayers of blacksmith going about their work, but since blacksmiths have all but faded out he has been able to sustain himself with the power that volcanoes give him.
God character, but you'll need to change a few things.

-Cut the glowing eyes. Unless you're in the Scape, you look completely mortal
-You can't control volcanoes, but I'll give you the power to create seismic event eruptions while in the Scape. Also, I'll let you have a Macgyver-style ability to create complex devices out of simple objects.
-Neither hammer nor anvil can assume their 'true' shapes except in the Scape

Sorry dude, you're packing too much power there. Mind control is a bit much, but you could go for the power to confuse people and give give them headaches/hangovers/etc.

Bear in mind, you're barely even the echo of a god...

Either way, nice to meet you; a friend of RBJ is a friend of mine. Have you perchance heard of my little Group [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/The-RP-Regulars-definitely-not-the-3W-Stalker-Club]?

I'll accept that, with one edit; you can only become invisible when no one can see you, and if a god looks upon you, you can only hide yourself (ie anyone else you're hiding will become totally visible, or you all stay invisible to mortals but visible to gods)

Name: Thomas Lokk, once known as Loki, Norse Trickster god
Appearance: A tall, slender man with pale skin and blonde hair. He wears a vibrant orange plaid suit with a black undershirt and neon red tie, a top hat is worn at a jaunty angle and he carries an ornate cane with a draconic head. He has a fob-watch in his pocket and is clean shaven with dark red slacks and vibrant red leather shoes.
In the dreamscape, he is slightly larger and his outfit's pattern constantly changes, occasionally forming a face. After being poisoned, as punishment for killing Baldur, he shows greenish black veins covering his face.
It is also worth noting that his art of the dreamscape resembles a more muted version of wonderland with a large mansion in the middle.
Noteable powers: Deadpool-style immortality (i.e. his head gets cut off, he picks it up and fixes back onto his neck, he gets stabbed through the stomach, he gets mildly annoyed) this is not saying he is unkillable, chop him up, burn him or clog up his arteries with foreign objects and he will go down. His blood is poisoned ( again, a result of his punishment), He subscribes to ?wonderland? physics than those of our reality. Also has slight of hand working for him
In the ?Scape, he has a form of fire manipulation and shape-shifting (can become either animals or outlandish creatures, as long as he keeps his own style (tall, thin, red, wears a top-hat)
Artifacts: a fob-watch that tells the time in 3 different time-zones as well as his part of the dreamscape and the position of the nearest magical being.
A cane.
A TARDIS-like top-hat that is far bigger on the inside than the outside (contains many things, including 238 rabbits, a lamp and an axe with a heart shaped ruby set in the head and an ornate handle bearing the legend ?off with her head!?
Source(s) of power: Storytellers and tricksters. As long as their are con-men, Pranksters, comedians and writers, there will be Thomas Lokk
Sorry, but you're powers are way out. Broken physics and literally immortality are hardly 'subtle' being a god, you're more than able to deal with mortals, but you'll be turning aside or avoiding things, not taking it full in the face and walking off with your head in your hands.

Second, you don't own the Dreamscape, even at the height of your power. It's just a place in the mind of the world, where thoughts are louder than actions

CarpathianMuffin said:
Name: Tanit, moon and war goddess of Carthaginian and Phoenician culture. Among mortals, she's known as Sonja Wells.
Appearance: In the Dreamscape, Tanit is a lanky, raven haired woman concealed by a snow white cloak. Her eyes change depending on the stage of the lunar cycle, with her irises glowing a more brilliant white when the moon waxes.
She wears a silver pendant of a crescent moon around her neck at all times. The pendant gives her the powers to heal herself and others in the moonlight, and to illuminate her way in total darkness.

When viewed by mortals, she takes the form of an equally slender, significantly more pale version of herself. Her regular attire is a smart black business suit and heels, and her hair done up in a ponytail. The crescent shaped pendant dangles around her neck, retaining its appearance but not its power. The sword takes the form of a tattoo on her side, released in the Dreamscape by reciting an incantation.

Noteable powers: In the Dreamscape, Tanit is frightfully adept with a sword, and can wield it with devilish efficiency. Her pendant also imbues her with healing powers. Aside from this, she's nimble and athletic, able to endure long battles with little to no exhaustion. While she could channel moonlight into destructive beams when worship of her was at its zenith, she's since lost that power as her cult's numbers dwindled to nothing.

In the modern world, she retains heightened perception and endurance, as well as a few of her fighting abilities, but little else. She travels freely to and from the Dreamscape through means of an incantation.

Artifacts: Her weapon in the Dreamscape is a crescent shaped scimitar with stylized decals of the crescent, half, full, and new moons embossed on the blade. It's light to her touch, but quickly fatigues all others who wield it. She also has her pendant on her at all times; not only for purposes having to do with power, but for sentimental reasons. While lightweight and nigh impossible to tear, her cloak provides no other benefits.

Source(s) of power: Worshiped from 500-146 BC, and given power through means of animal sacrifice and offerings of harvest. While her cult's long since disappeared, her legacy carries on through inscriptions in ruins and a slight resurgence in popularity of her name. As long as that trend continues and the inscriptions aren't destroyed, she'll have some semblance of power.
Good sheet. No edits needed,
You're able to play, when this game is seeded

Name: Renny - (Zorya Utrennyaya: One of the The Zorya, Slavic guardian goddesses, "Morning Star")

Appearance: As she is a patroness of the planet Venus, she is depicted as a beautiful maiden, usually mounted on a horse, fully armed and armoured, with a veil that obscures her face.
Among mortals she takes the appearance of a slender, young woman with long, straight, blonde hair. Her eyes are covered by ever present sunglasses (takes place of the veil). Her "mortal" outfit consists of mostly grey clothing, usually jeans, a top and jacket.

Noteable powers: She protects against death, although she can no longer directly prevent it, she can make inflicted wounds less deadly. She can can also help heal those possessed by demons.

Artifacts: She wears a veil that she lets down to protect against death and the stone, Alatuir from which she draws her power.

Source(s) of power: She is invoked to protect against death in battle, and her prayers were addressed as "Defend me, O maiden, with your veil from the enemy, from the arquebus and arrow..." However, this is rarely spoken, so she draws power from general prayers of protection and from when she sits upon the stone, Alatuir, beneath which the river of healing flows.
I like it, but I'll let you extend you're powers a little. You can turn aside mortal weapons (ie you can make bullets always miss) and you can speed people's healing process (or make it instant while in the Scape)

Could it be? An RP centred around old mythology?

I'm mighty interested! I'll toss in a sheet as quick as I can, after enough research has been done, of course.

Also, a quick question, would heroes of old be eligible? Say Beowulf and Siegfried? Or mythological rulers such as Arthur Pendragon? Or for that matter, would individuals such as the Valkyrie be fine, seeing as they are each individually named?

Not saying I'm going to utilize this, but exploring one's options is always good.

Depends how fictional: you'd need to be someone who exists solely as an idea, since you need people to still believe in you. Hit me with a more specific idea, and I'll give you a more specific answer =D

Thanks for the input 3W. I'm all good today and I'll be able to give you a revised, improved sheet. Especially since I did some more research on Bael (or Baal) last night, turns out he's pretty interesting.

Noteable powers: Bael possesses the ability to turn himself and others invisible if need be, however only if he is not seen at the time. He also has the ability to shape-shift into creatures he is near to, sacrificing the creature in the process and is a skilled illusionist, being able to create elaborate structures, creatures or even worlds that seem as if they are close enough to touch, but in reality they are as thin as vapour, this power does however depend on the willpower of the individual targeted, as one with strong will can overcome them.

Artifacts: A pile of ash in his pocket, gathered from the remains of creatures he has shape shifted into and the emblem of the Infernal powers stitched onto his left lapel in a deep red.

Source(s) of power: Ba'al (literally meaning lord) was considered one of the seven princes of hell and was worshiped as a deity by the Armenian civilization during its high point, his reverence and so, power spread over the years when he began to be worshiped more prominently in the Mediterranean. However, upon the advent of Christianity, Bael was labeled a Demon and his worship almost ceased to exist. Now his power only comes from a small, yet devoted base of Satanists and Demon worshipers, but Baell will not rest until he is as revered in the physical world as he once was, no matter what gods or creatures stand in his path.

Wait, in the description you said that we had nothing to fear from mortals. I don't think giving a mortal a headache or confusing them is going to give me any chance of success against other gods. Maybe I was overdoing it a bit, but could I be able to control one mortal at a time?

I just think that coming up with physical attacks as opposed to psychological ones wouldn't be using the character to its full potential. That's all

Read the other people's sheets; no one gets massive attack powers. Your powers are supposed to be subtle, which mind control is not. Secondly, mind control is almost always a no no in RPs, just to give you a heads up.

You might want to think of another character, especially if the limits if this game aren't using it to it's full potential

Alright i have revised my character sheet according to prior instructions
Name: Jason Heph in mortal guise, Hephaestus of the Greek Gods
Appearance: When he mingles with mortals he prefers to take the appearance of a muscular older man with black hair. Though he is lame in his right leg he carries a stick to help him travel. His stick is actually a hammer that he forged and when he needs to it can change to a hammer or a maul provided he is in the scape. He also carries a small necklace on which has an anvil on it, the anvil can expand to full size when he needs it as long as he in the scape. When he is in Dreamscape his clothing changes to a suit of armor similar to the armor of the ancient Greeks but more ornate since he designed it.
Notable powers: He used to have some control over volcanoes and fire but now is only able to cause seismic eruptions as long as he is in the scape. He was also at the height of his power able to influence the technologic advancements of the mortals but he suspects he will never be able to again.
Artifacts: He still carries his hammer that he has used since the first time he forged an item but now carries it as a walking stick in the mortal world. He can change it to his hammer or length it into a maul if he needs to while in the scape. He also carries a small necklace with an anvil upon it. This can change into a full sized anvil when in the scape.
Source(s) of power: Hephaestus gains power from volcanoes and from the prayers of blacksmith going about their work, but since blacksmiths have all but faded out he has been able to sustain himself with the power that volcanoes give him.

It's just a place in the mind of the world, where thoughts are louder than actions
alright...

how about
Name: Thomas Lokk, once known as Loki, Norse Trickster god
Appearance: A tall, slender man with pale skin and blonde hair. He wears a vibrant orange plaid suit with a black undershirt and neon red tie, a top hat is worn at a jaunty angle and he carries an ornate cane with a draconic head. He has a fob-watch in his pocket and is clean shaven with dark red slacks and vibrant red leather shoes.
In the dreamscape, he is far taller and his outfit's pattern constantly changes. After being poisoned, as punishment for killing Baldur, he shows greenish black veins covering his face.
It is also worth noting that his art of the dreamscape resembles a more muted version of wonderland with a large mansion in the middle.
Noteable powers: . His blood is poisoned ( again, a result of his punishment). Also has slight of hand working for him. very fast (slightly faster than peak human).
can become anonymous (will cease to stand out in a crowd)
a master at lying and distraction, he can survive most wounds and trick many beings into doing his bidding (only minor things, like dropping weapons or letting him through a secure door)

Put in the few extra things. :)

With lesser wounds, she can instantly heal them, but only in the Scape, while in the mortal world she can speed the healing process. She is able to turn aside mortal weapons, for example, making projectiles miss their target.

-You can't control volcanoes, but I'll give you the power to create seismic event eruptions while in the Scape. Also, I'll let you have a Macgyver-style ability to create complex devices out of simple objects.
Can you give some example to a macgyver style device or could hephaestus create more advanced technology than humans are currently able to produce?
