I'm also playing Red Alert 2, Railroad Tycoon 2, and Deus Ex at the momoent, when i can get some time between Left 4 Dead.

Broken Sword 1 and 2. The best point and click games ever, shame the other sequels never lived up to them.

fallout 1, 2, tactics and JETPACK!

for those of you that don't know jetpack, i'd suggest you head over to its creator's site right now and download it. the thing's free, it was first released in the early 90s and it's so much worth a play through. if you're feeling creative, there's even a level editor embedded.

http://www.adeptsoftware.com/jetpack/

i still don't know why it never caught on a bigger audience than it did...

Lately I've been playing a lot of Doom, and Duke Nukem 3D. I've gotten use to looking around with the mouse instead of just using it for shooting and turning, and the Doom WADs + ZDoom have kept me from going anywhere with my illustrating. Has anybody ever heard of Knee deep in ZDoom? It's a remake of the original Doom episode, "Knee deep in the dead", but it adds several weapons, and a whole bunch of enemies, all housed in redone levels.

If you can find your original copy of Doom, then go get ZDoom, get Knee deep in ZDoom, and open KDIZD with ZDoom, and relive the terror that was Doom. Playing the game on Ultra violent is truly scary.

This thread has inspired me to pull out my old copies of Might & Magic 8+9, Vampire:TM Bloodlines, Rise of the Triads (the hand of god has to be one of the coolest weapons made) and Descent to Undermountain again.

Ooh, hey, before I bounce off to do some installing, does anyone know if it's possible to get the old 1980s forgotten realms games running on a high-end vista system? I've got them on an anthology cd, but my 386 nostalgia-box won't take a cd rom or anything other an ISA network card (and I've never seen a coax to rj45 adapter in an electronics or pc hardware store).

Descent into undermountain? I thought that game was made of PHAIL [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tAYoC3QFyw]? Nah, if you somehow enjoyed it, then that's cool...after all, I sort of enjoy Daikatana, and no I'm not joking.

Also, have you tried to run any of the DOS games on DOSBOX? It's a nice little emulator for old DOS games, also free to download and use.

I had completely forgotten how bad it was. A nice concept, but a fail of grandiose proportions when it came to the execution.

No, I hadn't tried that one. Cheers matey. Pools of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds and Pools of Darkness is still my fave rpg trilogy to this day. Ya've just made my year.
