I've replayed a load recently (mostly via Scummvm), and they've all been brilliant, without exception. Now I'm looking for some recommendations for more, but I know that there are a lot of poor ones out there... sooooo, what would you all recommend? No new school recommends please like Telltale games, Heavy Rain or Thimbleweed Park (I've played most of them anyway).

So far, I've played...

Beneath a Steel Sky
Blade Runner
Broken Sword 1 + 2
Conquests of Camelot: King Arthur, Quest for the Grail
Conquests of the Longbow: The Adventures of Robin Hood
Maniac Mansion + Day of the Tentacle
Discworld 1 + 2
Discworld Noir
Full Throttle
Gemini Rue
Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers
I Have no Mouth and I must Scream
Indiana Jones Last Crusade + Fate of Atlantis
King's Quest 6
Lesuire Suit Larry 7
Loom
Monkey Island 1, 2, 3 and 4
Grim Fandango
Quest For Glory III
Sam & Max Hit The Road
Th Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes 1 and 2 (Serrated Scalpel + Rose Tattoo)
Simon the Sorcerer 1 + 2
The Dig

MORE - I MUST HAVE MORE!

You've already played all the ones I could recommend except for playing the rest of the Quest for Glory series. Personally I love 4, mostly for the charming characters.

i don't see any daedalic games on that list, so, you could look into those. they make games for that genre, and they're all pretty solid. also, have you tried any of croshaw's games? he's made a few [http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/games.htm].

Pretty much anything by Wadyjet is worth a try.

Particularly the blackwell series, which you can get most if not all of them as a bundle. There'a also a game that takes place in the same universe but doesn't really interact called The Shivah, which honestly might be the best game about Rabbis I've played(It's also the only games about Rabbis I've played).

However, there's also:
Technobablyon.
Shardlight
Primordia
Resonance.

Other games I'd recommend:

-Fran Bow for being super creepy and wierd. Think wierd-ass Lewis Carroll without actually using the Alice in Wonderland setting and a lot darker.

-The Dream Machine. One of the few games where Adventure game Moon logic puzzles makes sense, because a large part of the game takes place in various peoples dreams. There is actually a pretty good plot and character development linking all of this together though.

Black Dahlia [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Dahlia_(video_game)]
Shivers [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shivers_(video_game)]
Shivers 2: Harvest Of Souls [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shivers_II:_Harvest_of_Souls]
Clandestiny [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clandestiny]

Also, the rest of the Gabriel Knight games (The Beast Within was one of, if not the best of the FMV games), and the newer TellTale Sam & Max games.

Also, also, I have to assume the lack of any of the Myst games or The 7th Guest/11th Hour is deliberate?

Also, also, also, anyone who can get through the ludicrous levels of Moon Logic in the Discworld games can make it through anything adventure games can toss at 'em :).

I'll second this. I did an LP of it with lacktheknack; I'm generally not a big fan of adventure games, but I thought Technobabylon was pretty dang good.

There's also The Book of Unwritten Tales I and II, which you can currently get with a bunch of other not-nearly-as-good adventure games for 80% off, apparently [http://store.steampowered.com/app/215160/The_Book_of_Unwritten_Tales/]. I haven't played either of them myself but I've watched LPs of them and they look pretty solid if you like good old fashioned high fantasy with a comedic bent.

Almost anything by Daedalic is amazing, but particularly:

- The Whispered World
- The Night of the Rabbit
- The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav. And it's sequel, Memoria.

I heard Deponia starts out ok and then plummets in quality but I haven't played them so I can't tell you.

Also if you're going to play Syberia, you won't get a full experience without playing Syberia 2. You've been warned.

EDIT: Darn, I forgot. Machinarium is another good one. And Kathy Rain, if you like Twin Peaks-esque stories. Also Oxenfree.

Never played TWW but I've heard Silence is a sequel of sorts.

Second Syberia 1 and 2, though I've heard 3 can be skipped and not miss anything. I haven't played it, I just saw the reviews being rather "Meh" and "Might have been better if it had come out years ago".

Oxenfree kinda ruined Stranger Things for me because I'd already played it before seeing the show and kept thinking that Oxenfree did this whole kinda thing better.

While not a traditional Adventure game, A Night in the Woods is pretty good, and occasionally moving. It oddly reminds me of Bojack Horseman. Sure, the characters are animal/furry people, but the characterization and setting are pretty grounded and sometimes depressing. Hell, A night in the woods might be more depressing due to not having overt comic relief elements and the fact that Mae is mentally ill(even if not apparent at first).

I'd forgotten those. The first two were rather meh(The Space one requires the entire cast to squeeze the idiot ball for dear life) but starting with Notes that series gets really good and creepy. Yathzee even did a series of let's plays of his own game. Well, him and his friend, who was actually playing while yathzee tried to explain what he was going for at the time.

Schizm: Mysterious Journey isn't totally great, but it's a technical marvel that I think is worth playing. AVOID THE SEQUEL.

Also, Myst. Play Myst. Do it.

Yeah I was gona say, how is the Myst series not already on this list op? Those are classic.

Also there are like, 5 Broken Sword games now, though I can't vouch for the quality of 4 and 5 (3 was definitely a bit meh).

Bearing in mind you've already done the best of the best (although you haven't tried Myst, Riven etc yet) and that things can only go downhill from here (probably):

Lost Secret of the Rainforest,
The Adventures of Robin Hood (The 1991 Millenium game, not conquests of the longbow). It's like a point and click proto-sandbox.
The Neverhood
Spy Fox in... Dry Cereal (loved this one even as an adult)
Lemmings?

I played a bit of myst when I was younger. Wasn?t really my thing. The only first person adventure games that I?ve enjoyed are the Tex Murphy games, but I wasn?t really looking for that style of play for recommends, hence why I didn?t include them.

Silence is in fact a direct sequel to TWW. I didn't list it because I found it to be a pretty mediocre game, particularly when it comes to story and puzzles.

And to the OP, I know you said no new stuff like Telltale Games, but old Telltale Games (essentially anything before The Walking Dead, particularly Tales of Monkey Island, Back to the Future and all three of their Sam and Max games) play like actual, honest-to-god point and click adventure games; and not the false-choice visual novels they became later.
