Temporarily have gained computer access through a friend's comp. Anyway, I talked to the guys at the shop and they said it might even take until Friday to get my fan replaced because Mac stores hate keeping non-cosmetic stock (le sigh), however, I'm going to borrow this computer for the RP session so we don't have to keep pushing the meeting back on my account. I will have to talk to my friend about installing skype on it and hopefully things will go smoothly. I won't have a mic though as this computer is ancient and has...pretty much nothing in terms of both hard and software.

(PS: Skype is free. You should totally get it :3333)

For those of you concerned about not having a mic, don't fret. We'll have a text chat on skype open as well. We just want to have the voice chat to try to convey as much information as possible, as quickly as possible, to you all. A mic will not be required for the actual RPing. As long as you can hear the current GM (Zorak or myself, you will be perfectly fine. We will be alternating between sessions and I should have my comp back by the time the next session rolls around). We just want to be able to give you guys obstacles in real time so that you guys aren't just typing blindly. It's a bit of a hybrid system, but hopefully it will seem natural after a few hours or so. This system is to keep the thread from stagnating and to introduce certain plot elements that Zorak and I have discussed. We will not be controlling the game beyond that because the best RPs come from the players just messing around and having fun with their own stuff.

We do REALLY want to keep the text there though so we have a permanent record of exactly what we've done so far. This will allow Zorak and I to look back on what has happened so that we can easily plan for stuff further on in the game.

My estimate for the first session will probably be 3 hours. We can make the sessions longer if desired, but that will be our max for now. We are also thinking of making either Thurs or Weds our semi-permanent meeting day (just to keep things simple as people usually make plans on the weekends, etc)

If you have any problems, please send a PM Zorak since I won't have access to this comp a lot and I doubt that the mac store will have fixed my craptop in time to answer any questions. He has my number anyway so it's no big deal.

Im chill with using Skype. I have a mic but I feel like we should stick to text based RPing, lest it get out of a hand and degenerate into a screaming match. Also, these new captchas are fucking annoying. And what is the policy on swearing?
Swearing is all good. I'm pretty sure we are all adults here.

The mic bit is mostly so Zorak and I can address you guys. If you guys want to talk out of character or ask questions, then feel free to use it for that. We'll be RPing through text still.

Sounds like a plan. Having Skype as a secondary channel of communication will hopefully keep things organized with a group of this size. If it really is an issue we can just revert to straight text based communication.

Also, It looks like I will be unavailable to play on the 9th, 10th, and 11th (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday next week).

Well we'll talk about the next session after we get through this one. I might not be available on the 10th either. It depends on which day is more convienent for me to drive down for the move-in. It'll either be the tenth or that following Sat. So worst case scenario, we might move things back. XD I expect that the first few sessions will be a bit rough and experimental. No big deal.

By the way: weapons are going to be limited to class defaults for now. We're not sure if we're going to use any stats, but just in case, we'd like to keep things simple for the beginning. If you're totally against using any stats at all, please let us know.

And so far the votes for the teams are as follows:

BLU has 3 votes
RED has 0

Please let us know which team we should be (I dun give a flying fuck what color my gloves are. Besides, when I cut you all open, it's going to be a rather lovely shade of RED anyway. But I bet the rest of you have uniform preferences XD).

Just to confirm this one last time. Everyone will receive an invitation to Zorak's Chatzy room at 9 PM EST this coming Thursday. From there, we will exchange skype accounts so that Zorak and I can get through all the questions and other stuff quickly. If everything gets squared away then we'll begin the first mission and go from there. We plan to end the session at 12 AM EST so try to make sure you can stay for the whole thing if possible.

Sorry for spamming you guys. Just want to make sure everything is squared away. 8 people getting together for an RP session means lots of chances for people to get their information mixed up or for people to just flat forget. I just wanna make sure that we're all on the same page and that everyone is ok with using the programs and sites we've chosen.

See you all on Thurs! :3

Do I need an account on the chatzy website?
Nope it's completely free. Just click the link to the chat, enter your character name, choose a color, and you are good to go.

Realized I didn't post one of these. :) So here is my own.

"Tell me...vhy did you drink mein rubbink alkohol again Herr Demo?" Birds scattered off the operating table as the Medic rolled the drunk Scot onto the cot, lifting his wounded leg to the light. He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and scowled. There was no helping these Deppenscheiß! "Vell, if you shoult get an infection, zen you only haff yourself to blame." He flicked the air bubbles out of a fresh fed needle and inspected the wound. Deep, but nothing life threatening. "I do not see vhy I bozzer vith zis vhen you haff clearly drunken yourself into anozzer shtupor." He pushed the plunger down and then clicked his tongue.

"Schtiches...schlimm..." He heard a muttered snore from the other man and he raised an eyebrow before smiling. "As long as I am in here..." He grabbed his favorite scalpel and began carving into the tissue, exposing more bright pink muscle as blood poured out onto the white sheets.

"MISSION BEGINS IN 20 SECONDS!"

Medic scowled and looked at his blade longingly before smacking Demo across the face. The man instantly woke, his brown eyes wide. "Vee haff ein new misshun." He saw the other's confused expression even through the haze of alcohol. "Try not to blow yourself to shmizerreens, ja?" He watched Demo limp out of the infirmary before he turned to his beloved birds, stroking over the blood stain on the sheets. "I vonder how long it vill take before he realizes zat I never closed zee vount?"

"ARGH! MEDIC!!"

"Ah...zer vee go..."

I guess I should post one as well :p

*I had originally intended to refrain from referring to the Pyro as a male for female because it is often debated, but I decided to just go ahead and make it a male for ease of RP. This also came out a little darker than I wanted...but it hopefully gives you all a sense of my writing style*

scratch...scratch...scratch, FWOOSH!

The child grinned as the match burned before his eyes. It burned slowly, working it's way down to his fingers. The boy dropped the match stick and let it fall into the pile of burnt sticks at his feet. The sweet aroma of smoke and burnt matches permeated the air. He drew in a deep breath and felt for another match, reaching with his small hands into the match box, and pulled out one last match.

scratch...scratch...scratch, FWOOSH!

Again, the brilliant flame of the match illuminated his gaze. But it was extinguished by a short gust of wind just as quickly as it had been struck into life. The boy sighed and turned the matchbox upside down, shaking it and hoping for just one more match. When nothing fell out he shrugged and dropped the box on the ground in disappointment.

A voice shouted from downstairs, it was his mother calling for him to come for supper. He quickly forgot about his disappointment and ran down the stairs. The smell of smoke still lingered as he strolled into the kitchen. His mother was sitting at the table when suddenly she caught the scent of smoke. She stood and went to the stairwell. A mixture of fear and anger flashed across her face as she saw the wisp of smoke slowly roll down the stairs. She gasped and grabbed her sons hand. She quickly ran towards the front door and carried him outside frantically.

The boy seemed confused by his mother's behavior. He asked her what was wrong, she only replied with a few words of comfort. Suddenly, a loud pop resounded and the familiar scent of fire and smoke washed across them. The boy giggled, as his mother put him down on the sidewalk. He turned towards his mother, she told him to stay put. The woman looked back towards the house in terror, an expression as though she had forgotten something important formed and she quickly ran back towards small house.

The child was confused and started to follow. His mother disappeared through the smokey doorway ahead of him. A group of neighbors began to gather outside as flames burst from the windows of the small cottage. A moment later he was scooped up by a large man, the child recoiled as he saw the firefighter's frightening mask. The fire raged before them and more firefighters ran towards the house, frantically trying to douse the flames. The boy tried and failed to break free of the firefighter's grasp, yelling for his mother. He looked back towards the smokey doorway to the house and saw only the glow of embers...

BOOM!

The Pyro suddenly snapped out of is day dream as an enemy rocket exploded behind him. He gritted his teeth and rushed forward. The RED soldier who had shot at him turned to fire again, but it was too late. The Pyro let loose with his flamethrower, covering the enemy soldier in a shower of fire. The man let out a scream and collapsed to the ground smoking and charred. The Pyro grinned beneath his mask and let out a muffled shout of joy as he looked for his next victim.

6-9 was inconvenient for me in retrospect. I lose the ability to converse with my family as well as have supper if it occurs on weekdays. Also, I was expecting the RP to be much more non-in-round centric, because I prefer actually playing the game to a text version of the same thing.

This first round was a test for both Zorak and I. We stuck with the gameplay for our first session to help ease people in as well as get important information on how everyone RPed. We also didn't want to jump right into a brand new plot without knowing what people expected. As for the plot, we gave a lot of obvious hints with our Demoman that we weren't just going to be running through the missions forever. We have a real story planned, but this initial mission had to be there to set things up.

As for the time, unfortunately, it's a majority rules thing. Most of our group is on the EST so we have to cater to them first. Heck you're not even on the earliest out of us all.

If this time isn't good for you...well it's ultimately your decision whether or not to stay. We'd like to have an Engineer, but if you have other priorities that is fine too.

Indeed. I would prefer to keep the game going around the 9pmEST. We may be able to move it up to a later time if the majority of the group votes for it.

Also, we realize that everyone has a real life. If you have other obligations and need to bow out feel free to do so, just please give us a heads up.
