Oldest game you haven't finished, but still plan to?

For the love of god just burn The Thing! I never completed it and I waited 4 hours on release day at my local indie games shop for the delivery to come on. Disappointed is nowhere NEAR my level of unhappiness with that game.

I can't, its a compulsion at this point, I've played through it at LEAST six time now, and EVERY FRAKKIN' time I get to the underground lab with all the sub-marine like sphere enclosures and run out of ammo...it taunts me in my sleep!!!

I finally called bullshit on the game and canned it after (right before finding the lab) your teammate starts jerking around all over the place, so I tested him and he passed, then 5 steps on he turns into a monster. I get pissed off, PS2 gets switched off, broken piece of shit gets to FUCK OFF.

I never managed to beat the final boss in FF9.

Mt friend did, so I know the ending, but I never actually finished it myself.
Same goes for FF12. I still WANT to finish it, but the damn story is just so boring.

Cast regen on everyone. The Grand Cross spell, or whatever it's called, takes so damn long to cast you'll gain loads of hp back by the time it finishes.

At any rate, my own submission is Nethack. I'm willing to be realistic...I'll probably never finish it, but I'm going to keep trying.

Probably FF9, I don't remember why I stopped playing,I just get distracted by other games and what no. Just you wait and see I'll beat it it may take 20 years but dammit I will.

I still haven't completed a final fantasy game, despite owning/playing 1-4, then 8-12(not including the wierd 11th one. Closest I've come is on 3 where I aced my way through the game, then got killed by the final boss, after having spent the 2 hours getting there without being able to save ¬,¬. On 9, which is probably my favourite I've got stuck on the 3rd disk every time, and on 10 I can't be arsed to do the grinding that will let me kick the finall bosses ass!

Put gems into everything that's an anti-condition, that way the characters will barely recieve anything. Also, when attacking, holy is an excellent spell to spam.

I've played every major Final Fantasy game except the MMO 11. And never finished any of them. I get to the end...then get the airship. Do sidequests. Take a "break" from the game. Never go back...

If I can find a copy, then the top of my list would be Jet force Gemini. I was talking about it recently and I realized I never beat the final boss as a child. Same with Gex: Enter the the Gecko.Well I know what I need to go look for now.
