What's the game with the oldest release date you've played this year, and what are your thoughts about that game?

(I would have said Sly Cooper 1, but that was in the Sly Collection which was last year, I'll say that HD remakes are their own seperate release date

The oldest game I've played this year is Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4 (2002) on PS2. I'm shocked how much the gameplay was perfected back then compared with the later entries. The humor is completely dumb however, the game was clearly designed for an audience that has long since grown up. I also can't believe there are 12 of these fucking games...

Goldeneye 007 for the N64, which I believe came out in 1997. I believe it's held up very well, and is still my favorite FPS I've ever played.

Wasteland, from 1988 but I didn't really get the chance to play much of it. The oldest one I played to any real extent would be Arena.

I've been on a bit of a classic spree lately, largely due to only having a netbook at present. Oldest is probably Treasure Island Dizzy (1987).

I'm tempted to say Monkey Island 2, but it's the SE re-release. So probably Morrowind. Maybe Thief 2 but I think my attempts to make that work on my current machine ended before the new year.

Replayed treasure of the Rudras. Last year? Probably XCOM.

Unless you count Nethack, released in 1987 (and, admittedly, updated since).

Golden Axe 1989, the same year I was born.

I always play it once every so often, it such a small game so it's very fun to breeze through it.

I have never killed the final boss though, damn regenerating skeletons.

Edit: I also played B-17 bomber (1982/83) for about a minute on the intellivision lives collection, just so i can laugh at how crap the graphics are (they were great for the time though) and to hear the crap digitalised speech (Beeee...seven...teeeeeeeen.....Booooooomber).

I might play abit of adventure on the atari soon aswell, it may be like ten years older than me, but god do i love that game.

My favourite game Crash bandicoot.
Whenever I'm bored or need to pass some time mindlessly it's time to fire up the ps1 and get some wampa fruit.
