I can not agree with you more. I wouldn't mind bobby-joe (or whatever his name was from the clip) having a 10 min session at her.

OT: The cows ARE commodities. Not saying they should be treated the same as say a box of fruit but they are a commodity whether you like it or not. I don't agree however with the violence against them. The animals do nothing aggressive towards the employees so there is no sane reason to attack them.

I rather agree that animal cruelty is uncool.

Though I must say it's a little odd to be sorry for them now when we raise them in captivity and later chop them up and eat them. Not an animals rights activist myself but I just say it like I see it.

That's just fucked. It's one thing to kill an animal for food or resources, but there is no reason to just cause pain to an animal for the sake of doing so.

The expert (aka a guy who wears a suit) in the clip used the line "they are treated like commodities rather than living breathing animals" or some such.

I live in America and this is another reason to be disappointed, disgusted, and down right unhappy with it. It's not just about animal cruelty but a respect for all life regardless of who or what it belongs to. People like that need to learn what it means to be alive and feel pain, I know that sounds like some emo BS but it's true. Humans who lose touch with nature and their morality act in this way or worse. I don't know who's to blame but it's time we start doing something about it.
Some guys are assholes and NOW I DON'T BELIEVE IN AMERICA ANYMORE!!!

Cripes.

In regards to what the original topic should have been about: Sir I threw my 'respect for mankind' card away some years back. Perhaps you should too.
Agreed, since the very moment men started to walk this earth we have placed ourselves over the animals we keep for entertainment, food or products, and by that I mean these kinds of practices.
If anyone is interested in the food industry, you should watch the documentary Food.Inc

And I think it was Ghandi who once said: "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."

Isolated incident committed by asshole.

Abused animals produce less and lower quality meats/milks/cheeses. This has been known for quite some time, and only hourly wage assholes (or people paid by "animal rights" groups so they can film it) ever engage in actions such as these.
I'll have to agree with you, that "Shocking Footage" seemed a little to fake. Camera angle and quality are not consistent with what you would use with a concealed camera, that is unless they're just dumbasses who let some random person film their everyday cruelty.

If an animal is chosen to be food then as a human being it is my belief that those animals should be treated decently and respectfully. I can't say ethically thanks to PETA making that word out of bound for anyone who believes in animal welfare. There is no need to be a vile and revolting bastard (as I assume someone in the video was being, couldn't take watching it myself). and am inclined to see a strong link between those who are needlessly cruel to animals and their chances of being cruel to humans.

And yes, I would pay much more for mat products if I knew that the animals in question were kept decently and while I want to say "humane" I see very little evidence these days to believe that your average human is capable of it.

Eh,I already knew that this stuff happens. You wanna know why?Because it's how you get cheap meat.Think about it,McDonald's,Burger king,Taco Bell, pretty much all fast food places, and stores like Walmart need meat as cheap as they can get it.How do they do that?By treating animals like factory products not living things.Do you think that someone who cares about these animals would work in a place that keeps their animals pent up and miserable?I don't. So instead people who have server mental issues end up working there and do whatever they want...That's just what I think anyway...On a lesser note:I hate that Issues chick, she's so damn annoying.

Meh, I've seen an angry bull impale someone with his horns. I'm pretty sure poking that cow is hardly painful. Still it's completely unnecessary behavior from a farmhand, and he should know better than to abuse animals.

I'm sorry, what exactly qualifies you to make that kind of judgment? Do you happen to have extensive experience in the field of concealed cameras? Or are you just being cynical for the sake of cynicism?(or trolling?)

And to Hopeless Bastard: Can you actually name an incident when an animal rights group paid someone to commit animal cruelty? (No, that was actually not rhetorical. I wouldn't be too surprised if you could, I just think if you're going to make an accusation like that, you should at least back it up.) Even if you can (again, I'm not saying you can't) I still don't really get your point. We already know it was just some hourly wage asshole. The video said only one person was fired.
