No, it's not the sickest. Who really cares if some nut job shears a dog?

Who cares about dogs, for that matter?

hmmm

Nothing of the sick variety has made it past my nose today, no luck there.

Panda dog? Awesome. The poodle looks happy as a peach, though I have little speculation as to how happy that variety of fruit is, day to day.

Camel dog? Not awesome, much the same if someone forced a decorative muzzle over my face and told me to look like scoliosis just hit me like a freight train.

Poodles suck anyway. Also Chihuahuas are close behind due to being associated with certain somebodies.
And indeed you wouldn't dare do it with cats because their very existence is artistic. See lolcats.

If it's summer, shearing off the excess fur from last winter is useful and good... but for the love of Christ, a dog is NOT a canvas! So what if maybe the dog didn't protest? Telling a dog, "Now sit still, I'm dyeing your fur so you'll look like a panda..." is like giving that same proposition to an infant and proceeding to throw a few buckets of paint at it.
Just because an animal can't say 'NO', that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve dignity. If people are so desperate to create art, there's thousands of other ways to do that... heck, nowadays even taking a crap and sticking a small American flag in it passes as daring art for some people.

I love dogs so when i see people mutilating gorgeous animals it really does annoy the hell out of me. The dog is fine looking like a dog you don't need to change it into some freakishly looking animal. I would like to reuse the work i submitted for my AS in general studies (worthless i know but had no choice in the matter) if i can do it then it isn't art, things like this is psuedo art!

The story about the dying kid getting laid as a final wish restored my faith in humanity...

This is also a poodle

and now it feels like my faith in humanity has been savagely beaten by sparkling vampires wielding sledgehammers.

Well now, I'd hesitate to say sick, but there's a strong case for calling it daft. Not as daft, however, as the purveyance of puppacini at certain St.Kilder petshops.

At first I thought it was kind of dumb, then I saw the Jack Sparrow poodle...that's pure win right there.

LOL- I am not sure. :) On one hand, I think it is really funny, and as long as it does not hurt the animal, I guess it is ok. On the other hand though, I also think it is really stupid, and a waste of time and money. I also think definitely not art. The "Mona Lisa" is art. The sculpture "David" is art. The Sistine Chapel is art squared. This is a gimmick and a chuckle at best.

Neither of those poodles seem to have been tortured or anything extreme like that, I don't see why this is so bad? I can understand the whole 'it's not naturally' thing but even so...

I was just on Sankaku Complex forums not an hour ago... so no, this is not the sickest thing I've seen today.

As for the dog... I feel as bad for that animal as I do for any stupidly shaved poodle, those shivering little purse dogs, or any pet forced to wear a "hilarious" little outfit or hat.

Meaning the owner should be slapped...
I agree. I know it probabally didn't mond the process, but it's just damn undignified.

Exactly. As long as they weren't particularly hurt during the grooming process then it's alright.

But making them dress up in clothes is just wrong.

As a former poodle owner (good for duck hunting) I can tell you that they have to be sheared from time to it's a lot more cruel to let their hair grow. Dying their hair is painless I'm sure. Though it is really dorky and not really 'art'.

I thought it was a stuffed toy. It does no harm to the dog, but it's like those idiots who put woolly jumpers on their dogs because it's winter - the dog is going to be able to withstand the cold so just leave it be.

Same with this, it's unnecessary and it's not exactly humorous; they've just got too much time on their hands.
