The only way to do something right is to do it ourselves really. Such is life in the end, and make sure it is better than what anyone else has ever did up until that point (like how Witcher 3 did it).
I'd support any game that represents such an underrepresented part of the war, it's a shame that the Balkans are so underused in media in general, they have a very rich and unique history.

Out of curiosity, do you know any Bulgarian movies talking about WW1? I'd be interested in seeing a Bulgarian filmmaker's take on it.

The Americans being in is most certainly due to American cultural hegemony. It's considerably easier to sell the game to Americans if it stars Americans, historical accuracy be damned.
You know, not all of us are gun-toting right wingers who list "jingoism" under hobbies and special skills and only support 'Merican troops.

That aside, I agree with you. In comparison to other nations the US' involvement in the war was minimal. The only explanation other than "America, fuck yeah" is that DICE decided to focus on particular theaters/battles for the campaign and is carrying the involved factions over into multiplayer. At least I hope so. Maybe I'm giving US citizens too much credit...
I apologize if it sounded like I implied that all Americans were of the patriotic "Fuck yeah!" sensibility, I simply meant that there were enough of them to make the United States a playable faction profitable.

DICE deciding to focus on certain theatres for campaigns would justify leaving the Russians out, but would still leave the French underrepresented on the Western Front, which is pretty much the only theatre where the Americans were active.
I'd say it would be more EA that would have the final say then DICE for a decision like that, seeing how they would be planning to make a lot of money in the US region.
Still fucking retarded though and I think the only reason that the French Surrender Monkey meme even really got going was because of them not wanting to invade Iraq, a decision that seemed to have been the right one.

I think you might be right, I'm not too familiar with what DICE's policy is concerning things like that, but it definitely sounds like an EA-kind-of-move.

While the decision not to follow the United States into Iraq sure fueled that sentiment and propelled the term in popularity (and even led to that stupid "freedom fries" business), the concept of the French being cowards most definitively comes from WW2 more than anything, with the specific term "surrender monkeys" dating from an early episode of The Simpsons.

The French being victims to that kind of propaganda is not new though, see Napoleon being treated as a villain in the minds of most people despite being on the right side of history.
