On what level do you dream?

When you dream, how expansive is your dream? is it simple or would the things you dream about, if real, would be a life changing or a world changing event.

I tend to dream about small almost meaningless and minuet things, like last night I dreamt Panty and Stocking was on iTunes. Another night I dreamt I owned world of warcraft *which is weird because I have no desire to own that game*.

Did you read my post?
Should be obvious
And no it doesn't have to do with Inception.

They tend to run the gamet really. I once dreamt I kissed my best friend (female anyways) and I know THAT wouldve been a rather significant change.

I'm like you. I dream about really mundane things. I once dreamed about an episode of Todd In The Shadows where he showed his face. I also get lost a lot. My dreams have no real tangible detail or consistency to them. They're about as realistic as a painted backdrop for an elementary school play.

>Read OP or die.

Usually, mine are abstract and/or very surreal. Most aren't in conceivable places, although I did have one in the Elizabeth Islands, but most of them I can question whether or not they're on Earth.

My best dream involved being one of about 5 gods that owned this area of land... very cool.

depends on the night... and what I've been ingesting...

I've had remembered dreams where I lived for years in an invented sci-fi universe... and I've had dreams where I have a surreal 5-minute conversation with someone I know.

When I sleep I vary rarely remember them. It's usually just black from when I sleep till when I wake up.

College Psychology teaches you actual levels and names for them, so i was curious if thats what it meant.

Anyway.... I dont know. mine are pretty life like and complex. I know i can at least control my dreams. and a few have been almost epically cinematic.

Depends on the dream. In some I invent time travel, and supersoldier armor, ect. In some I cure organ failure. IN some, i go fishing, or hunting, or date jessica alba, ect.

The weird thing about me is that I never ever remember my dreams, in fact sometimes I'm not even sure if I dream at all. There's just one dream I've had recently that I do vaguely rmember the gist of, and that's all. It's basically me at work being called to the general office (I work in a supermarket) along with three girls, who I apparently (in the dream) am flirting with. Two I know, they're my real-life co-workers (one's around my age, the other is slightly younger, only 17 - I'm 20, for the record). The third isn't named, and I don't even know a third girl around my age in my department (though there are other girls, they work different shifts to me).

The most confusing part is that first of all, I don't have any feelings whatsoever for either of these girls, and as far as I'm aware they don't have any feelings for me either. The other confusing part is that there's no way I'd ever be flirting with a girl, because I'm nowhere near confident enough to actually do so. So this dream has got me all shook up (hey, can somebody tell me what it means?).

(Oh, and a cookie for anyone who understands the pop culture reference from that last sentence. And another cookie to anyone who actually can give clever, reasonable [i.e. not silly or jokey] advice on my dream...)

Ummm... Well generally my dream hits different levels depending on what I've had on my mind previously. It generally has real life characters (as in friends/family) acting as game/tv characters in a similar world. Sometimes the whole thing is played as though an RTS, sometimes its scene by scene, but almost always the dream changes as it goes along so... meh.

I love my dreams though, even the less fun ones, it always keeps me interested.

Occasionally it renders me intrigued as it's incredibly out of character too, such as your World of Warcraft thing, but for me its a bit stranger... like... Homosexual strange and other stuff. Also once apparently I was talking in my sleep and yelling "No, Daniel the cat! The cat, its gonna fall!", which I found strange cause I hate cats and they always land on their legs.

I believe whether you remember your dream depends on what state you enter in sleep or some shit. (or perhaps how you wake up)

Try changing sleeping habbits if you care much about it.

I just had a dream that involved my town turning into a Ravenholm-like apocalypseville, in which I lost all emotions after watching the violent deaths of my loved ones, and, indeed, everyone I ever knew, my subsequent Grigori-like 'cleansing' of the town, and my subsequent air evacuation by what was left of the local military.
....and then the inevitable crash, in some ridiculously high mountains, my life as a scavenger working on the edge of the survivable areas of the mountains, my interactions with the denizens of the town I lived in, my own confusing lack of emotion after my experiences in my old town, the jobs I took, and the currency I used.
Eventually, a good friend of mine arrived in the town, alive, which caused me to begin to feel emotions.
Did I mention that this dream included the emotions and feelings, or lack thereof, that I felt or encountered in the town, from watching my girlfriend die to searching for food?
Also, the write-up for the dream was nearly 4 pages of single-space text.

I'm pretty sure this was caused by a recent thread about creepy moments in games, my running story regarding some rebels escaping from City 17, recent playthroughs of Metro 2033 and STALKER, and my recent philosophical meanderings on what it would be like to lose all that you knew and loved, and yet survive.

I don't usually dream. But when I do, it tends to be fucked up in a Freud kind of way.

My uneducated guess would be that your subconcious was helping you practice your flirting skills.
It gave you a perfectly mundane situation in which you and three girls spend some time around each other. I imagine the faces given to the pair you know were to add a bit of familiarity and realism. The last was, perhaps, just a vague collection of physical attributes you might find attractive. I suppose I am moving from given facts to conjecture here, but whatever.

I assume this because you said you do not normally engage in flirting. I guess it just sort of seems like it makes sense.
Probably bullcrap, though. Ignore.

Actually, that would sound fairly plausible, the only problem is that in this dream I was on the shop floor when the message to go to the office comes over the tannoy. I don't actually see any of the people mentioned, and the dream cuts off and goes to something else that I don't remember as I leave my work to go to the office. I'm not really sure if that makes my dream any more or less weird, but your guess is definitely the sort of thing that would sound fairly plausible if it wasn't for the problems I just mentioned. Thanks for trying anyway :)

EDIT: Oh, for the record, I do spend time around girls fairly frequently. My two flatmates are both girls, and as I say, I work with several girls too. Not to mention university stuff and socialising in general...

My dreams used to be just odd and jumped around too much to really recall it properly. As too many things happened and the things that I could remember, wouldn't really make a cohesive story or anything.

Then for the longest time I would never dream except for the odd nightmare. In which I only ever have nightmares about Jason(Friday the 13th) even though I've long since gotten over my fear of him. And zombies, even though I love the zombie genre to no end.

But now I have started to dream again, but it all revolves around people I know sort of betraying me or just out-right hating me.

One dream I was slowly getting covered in luminescent canker worms that filled and crawled down every orifice of my body, while my friends laughed. Then another where my brother stabbed me trying to kill me, then killed himself because I didn't die. And another where I was sentenced to death and I wasn't told why and no one even cared.

I miss my old dreams filled with...happy things.
