Without a cheat code, the game would probably have been permanently shelved by now.

Most cheat codes are nothing more then crutches, never intended for more then debugging but used by players to defeat a game they couldn't otherwise beat without cheating. Making yourself invincible, the most used cheat, doesn't give anything to the game at all but reduce the challenge to zero.

While there are some people who have played a game through, like yourself, whom might experiment to see what other outcomes there could be in the game and look for Easter eggs they are not the majority. For every one of us, I've done this too, there are many others who are using the same cheat codes so they can beat a game they wouldn't otherwise been able to defeat. They have no interest in asking the 'what if' they just need to feel special by defeating a game and can not rationalise that they are not the ones doing it: The cheat codes are. Same reason we find these losers in online play so much, as disgusting as that is.

When you ask the question what cheat code is best, it is this majority which will have the loudest voice. I'm not saying that all people here, a gaming site, would be using the cheats in such a way but I can bet safely that a large chunk would of at some time in their lives. Cheat codes are mostly used for that purpose, not the Easter egg hunting what if crowd.

We get a form of cheat codes, I don't consider them cheats myself, which do wacky things. Those are far more fun! These add a different element to the game, even if just a humorous one most times, and hence should be rated as the best. Instead, look through this list, and you will find it is the most common crutch based cheats which are being put forth as 'best.'

I was trying to highlight that the best cheat codes are those which do not detract from the game what so ever. This means most of the cheat codes mentioned here are on my list of 'worse' not best. Not denouncing you for cheating to see what will happen, but just realise that most people don't cheat for any other reason to beat something they couldn't otherwise beat on their own.

Being beaten over and over before using a cheat and smahing your obstacle is fun, while it may detract from playing how the game is intended don't ever forget that the point is the enjoyment of the player. If they enjoy flying through walls or steamrolling enemies it is their prerogative to do so, it certainly is not your place to look down on them for it. Lest you want another crowd looking down on you for not performing iron man runs on every game.

Most of my friends I have talked to on this matter find more fun when they actually go through the game without cheating. Sure they moan about their lack of skill but that is their right as a gamer, to complain is what we do! The reasons they cheat is cause they don't find the challenge, when it is too difficult, fun and I can understand that. They don't cheat because the cheating itself is fun, the fun cheats exist for that reason not the god mode ones, they do it because they have hit a wall and want to see what comes next.

Besides those that would look down at me for not having a TF2 score into the thousands, something I can't see as physically possible without cheating, already exist and will look down on me regardless. Why would I bother caring what these people think?
Which is all you need to say if you believe I am looking down on you, why should you care what I think?
Be like I, don't give a damn about what other people think. If you find it fun to rush through a game with hacks that make you invincible fun, then fair enough. That you come here and try to defend yourself makes me wonder if maybe your not finding it as fun as you think. As long you're not ruining the enjoyment of a game for others, multiplayer cheating pisses me off, then why should it matter what you do?

So I am not saying you can't cheat to your hearts content, be stupid to say that on a thread dedicated to what cheat is best, but that brings us back to the point: The majority of the cheats put forth here are no means the 'best' cheats out there. They are the most common, standard in any game, and that doesn't make them the best cheats just because they are the most used.

A cheat that lets you fart rainbows is far better then one that makes you invincible.
