I cannot stand the slaughter of the English language especially when one of my friends constantly used the phrase "OMG", I hit her every time she said it for a couple of months and that seemed to have stopped it. Now if only I could stop a number of my friends saying LOL I mean honestly if some things funny you laugh you do not say LOL, I'm going to find a hammer.

I don't mind the abbreviations, because I don't think that we'll all be talking entirely in abbreviations ever. Some will slip into conversations and writing, but that's about it.

What I don't like is corporations trying to jump on the abbreviation/no capital letters bandwagon in the hopes of being hip. Right now, it's mtn dew (instead of Mountain Dew or Mt. Dew). I sense that they are going to undo Pepsi next, although they just put it in all undercase letters. My friend said they seriously considered renaming it to "ppz", and I nearly hopped in my car with a bat and drove to the Pepsi-Cola Headquarters to re-arrange some executive stupidity.
