I was interested in the Last of Us but I would only get it if I got a PS3 for free (same opinion for Xboxes).

I don't have a PS3, but I've seen multiple lets plays online so I know the story and what happens. However, I wanna play it myself.
Game Informer's editors had 18 of them list their top 10 of 2013 in this month's issue. The Last of us was number 1 of 10 on 13/18, and 2nd on another 4. I don't think it was even on that last person's list, but it was an eclectic list anyway.

I'm playing it now. I don't like stealth games, but so far, this is pretty fun and immersive.

To those who haven't played Bioshock Infinite, do so. It gets my Gotty. The roller coaster shooting mechanic is nothing I've ever experienced before. It was a terrific, playable game (though, a buddy of mine that loves very hard games didn't like it. Too easy and he was bored).

For me, the indy "Stanley Parable". It is making a heck of a lot of top 10 lists. I'm sure if I wait, I'll pick it up for about $2.50. But I loved "Dear Esther" and this has similarities. It is a definite future purchase for me.

same as myself. sounds good and right up my alley but im not buying a ps3 just for that
You may see a bundle, cheap, next Black Thursday. It is some time from now, but I keep seeing these very cheap sales.

If you don't have a PS3, and they're that cheap, and you can play games like G-d of War 3, Infamous, Uncharted 2 (top 5 of my game of gen 7 list), you owe it to yourself to get one, mess around with these games and then sell it without having made that much of an investment.

I think the same of Xbox 360. Last B.T., they had them with 5 games for $189 at Bestbuy but I couldn't find it. It kills me that I didn't play Halo 4.

The list is long and distinguished!

Far Cry: Blood Dragon tops the list, especially after seeing the first ten minutes at a friend's house!

Speaking of, Far Cry 3 also looks like it's worth a look (and yes I am aware that it came out at the arse-end of 2012!)

I've been a very lazy gamer since 2012 and have not really tried anything new. Instead I've spent my time replaying games I already have on higher difficulties and / or doing it another way, where applicable. I really should get more games and try something new; the last time I did that I got Skyrim and, despite it having almost nothing that really interested me, I ended up loving it!

Another vote for The Last of Us. I don't have a PS3, but that sort of postapocalyptic setting is pretty much exactly my thing. Now that the PS4 is out, I'm hoping that the PS3 prices will drop down to a level where I can justify picking up a good used one and a copy of the game. I've managed to avoid spoilers so far somehow, so I'll be going into it knowing only the basics.

I would love to have played Far Cry 3, really, but I've had less and less time/money for sandbox games as time goes on. D:

Watch Dogs...BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Seriously trying to wrack my brain for the last time a delay disappointed me so much.

Anyhoo, as for released games...perhaps Tales of Xillia, though I'll get around to it eventually.

The Last of Us, I don't own a PS3, but there are a bunch of games on that system that I really want to play, and the Last of Us just seems like something that I would really be into. I guess that now the PS4 and XbOne are out now, I can probably pick up a PS3 for quite cheap somewhere, might have to go ahead and do that at some point this year, maybe if I get a job.

Last of Us and Final Fantasy XIV for me.

Last of Us: can't play because don't have a Playstation. Want to play because, well, everybody's so hot and bothered about it I'm curious. I'm a little wary about the lauded character moments though because I don't tend to react 'the right way' to father-daughter-type relationships. Didn't really enjoy the Walking Dead games, for example.

Final Fantasy XIV: can't play because $50 plus subscriptions. Want to play because the RPG only seems to exist in MMO format. Technically I could afford it if I thought the game was worth it, but it would have to be soloable and at least as fun to solo as a main series Final Fantasy game for me to go for it. Lordy but I wish multiplayer stopped being such a huge deal so more RPG-makers would calibrate their games to be fun for one player again.

the last of us, but its more because i haven't been assed to set up my PS3, and i'll only pick it up when it's really cheap.

wish i hadn't played: well, not played, but bought, battlefield 4. i regret buying it because i've played a grand total of maybe 2 hours, bug ridden mess and now i don't want to play it. had i of bought it on console, i would have sold it. alas i did not...

The Last of Us. The PS3 belongs to my dick roommate so I'm not buying anything for the system. Might borrow it from a friend once he's done with it though.

Definitely Shin Megami Tensei IV. I've basically given up on it ever being released in my region :[

Anything else released in 2013 is still there for me to play, so I don't really care. I usually play games 6 months to a year after release anyway, because FUCK paying £30-£50 for a game.

Has to be Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

I heard it was good and fun, but my brother either couldn't find it on sale on Steam or didn't want to get it. I ended up watching a Let's Play of it, and afterwards, I felt it deserved every praise it got.

There are still quite a few that I want to play from 2013 since I go to the "cheap-ass gamer" school of not paying $60 for a game. However, the one that I really do want to play that I still haven't would be...

*Drum Roll Please*

Bioshock Infinite

I've just heard such great things about it. It's gotten many awards for GotY from many sites and a lot of people here threw a hissy fit when it wasn't in the Finals here. I loved Bioshock 1 and am looking forward to picking up this gem.
Agreed. I've just not had the money to buy it and probably wont bother when I do until they release an edition that comes with all the DLC. I wouldn't mind borrowing the game from someone, but that's about it.

You definitely need to pick it up when you get the chance. My brother recently got it and I've been really enjoying it.

Toss up between The Stanley Parable (because now I've heard too much about it - I think it would have been more fun to play before knowing quite so much) and Shin Megami Tensei IV (because I think I would have enjoyed it, but it's one of those games that I'm probably going to forget about now and never actual play).

Probably Papers, Please and Rogue Legacy...

Those are the only games I can think of that came out last year that I was willing to play on my laptop... because I could and not have to worry too much about how it's not really a "gaming laptop" in the process... I especially wanted to play Papers, Please before it was given the Escapist GOTY award... but I digress...

Besides, every other game I would have said either came from Japan and/or was not even released in 2013...
