So long story short, my hand is busted up from a ton of broken glass. Gotta be bandaged up and I'm sure I don't need to elaborate that it's kinda sensitive for now.

Apart from one drawback that I'm sure the male Escapee's will sympathise with, another downside is that typing, or more importantly, gaming, is damn near impossible to do with any speed.

As a result, I'm making do with games that I can take my time with, or simply play with one hand. This leaves me mostly with casuals and turn based strategies. So any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I once played Journey one handed, I was trying to eat my dinner and play at the same time as I didn't want my dinner to go cold and I didn't want to loose my partner. It was easier than I would have thought.

FFXII can be played one handed since the gambits take care of all the fighting, you just need to move the party. Older turn based RPG could work, too.

Hm thats a toughie. I wouldn't know where to start. I'm sure theres a website that specialises in gaming with disabilities (such as one hand) and reviews them with that idea in mind. Cannot remember the name though! :(

As for games that CAN be played one handed i'm going to have to say PC games that only use a mouse or a few keys. Ufortunatly a controller usually needs two hands.

-So most RTS's like dawn of war can be played with just the mouse. So can syndicate/ wars (oldie). A lot of old RPG's played with just the mouse too (like fallout, baldurs gate etc) So maybe check out GOG for more options of that.

-Some 2D platformers like super meat boy or stealth bastard only use a few keys.

-And i'm only throwing this in because i played it the other day but Crusader -no regret/ no remorse can be played with just the numpad. I wonder if other old shooters can be played like that too... like doom.

-Most point n click adventures like monkey island only use the mouse too.

-Most lightgun games only use the lightgun/ wiimote like house of the dead. Those games you usually can't put a lot of time into though.

Those are just some off the top of my head :)

I think you can play most RTS games with only a mouse. If you choose to do so I would advise against fighting against players and stick to bots.

The advantage of hotkeys is one not to be ignored.

It can! I've got a one handed friend that binds everything around the arrow keys. Vertical aiming is all handled automatically since the game isn't true 3D. Not a whole ton of real action games that can be done single handed.

Just make sure you're using a good source port, and not the hideously broken version that is included in the D3:BFG edition. They seriously use the D3 key bindings in D1 and D2. You have to edit the controls for D3 to change the older game controls!

You can do it with your off hand, it just takes some getting used to.

As for the gaming, I think that is nigh impossible unless you are into adventure games. I really liked King's Quest V and VI.

Oh, if you like strategy games there is absolutely no reason you can't play any of the awesome King's Bounty games with just the mouse.

Oh, the temptation to make a "if you know what I mean" joke...

Anyway, most handhelds can be done one handed. Granted, it's a bit awkward, but it's better than nothing, right?
Anyway, my personal recommendation is Fire Emblem. Any of the GBA titles, or Awakening. Awakening is the shizz, man.

Hm, point and click games should work well if you're into that genre. I'm not, but I got a few through a bundle a while ago that was quite fun. Syberia 1/2 and Still Life 1/2(second game is pretty awful).
The bundle has ended now, and I'm don't know what the games cost, though I doubt they're very expensive.

It all depends on which hand you've injured though. I assume it's your left.

This list from a user on GOG.com is meant for someone to drink and play at the same time, but it should work for your case.

Welp, I've been playing a hell of a lot of osu! recently (a rhythm game) which can use Z/X or LMB/RMB as input as you move a mouse around the screen following a path. The drawback to this is it seems to have like 80%+ Asian-music-beatmaps, so if you're strictly specific-music-type, you might not enjoy that.

Also, I've been playing Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten, an indie tower-defence with a sorta RPG story base

Planescape Torment and other old isometric RPGs only require a mouse to play them. Besides, they are dirt cheap and have great story. I highly recommend you try it out.

You could actually play a lot of simple platfomers, like braid or limbo and such. Supermeatboy's out of the question, but vvvvvv works just fine one handed, and is suitably challenging too if you're into that. A lot of games you play will have to be a little easy going to compensate.... But if you don't mind a little clunky control, you could use a mouse with extra buttons and map those as WASD. It'll be clunky as hell, but it's certainly doable for certain fpses. Fallout 3/NV are excellent examples since they're not too demanding, especially with vats being able to handle most combat encounters (have yet to skyrim, so no idea how that would work)

Also, check out gog. You could play like half the catalogue easy. Modern point and clicks work too, like the walking dead.

Edit: also, every turnbased game ever, jrpg or otherwise. Like the new X com.

Arcane mage in WoW?

Could play it with zero hands, just make every skill a macro that targets nearest foe and activates arcane blast and bash face on keyboard.

I've actually been eyeing that game for some time. Free to play turns me away normally because I'm not keen on being constantly pestered to pay more and more cash but it still looks like a ton of fun.
