Not something I'd consider doing with my Rock Band controllers... that's a level of coordination I've yet to achieve though, kudos to him.
I love all the people with nothing nice to say about these music games. "Oh, that's a baby's toy. Why don't you learn to play a real guitar?" Well for some, it was a lot cheaper than a real guitar... and Amp... and Distortion Pedal... and lessons... and tabs.
Me, I've never been able to wrap my mind around the fundamentals of playing guitar. That and the fingers on my hand that would be used to move up and down the frets can't flex to reach the frets for big chords, believe me, I've tried. It's a problem with my hand, not the guitar.
I do "play guitar" on Expert in Guitar Hero and Rock Band though reasonably well. Dragonforce, Megadeth, and Yngwie Malmsteen force me to take it down to Hard though, I can't quite pull any of their songs off just yet.
I did play real drums once upon a time though. Don't have my kit anymore. Gave it to my uncle, a drummer for 30+ years, so he could give more aspiring younger people lessons. In how I played though, it was difficult for me to adapt to the Drum Controllers for the games because I couldn't position any of the drums separately and the unnatural feel of the Bass Pedal... plus I'm left-handed.
If my friends actually come over to play in Band mode, I'm usually left as the vocalist being the only one with an even remotely decent voice. Even then, I'll usually sit out for songs I don't know or don't like (most of them). My crowning achievement still is singing "Evil" by Mercyful Fate on Guitar Hero Metallica on Expert. Got 5 stars because, apparently... I can sing like King Diamond pretty well. (lol at my avatar)
