Aw damn it! That was a great site. Are they going to try and take down all of them? Of all the mediums going online like Newspapers and such Manga Magazines really should I'd buy it if it was official and properly translated.
Shame for all the hard workers at Onemanga, the first place I went to read it.

If you are looking for a huge archive of Manga, both translated and in original Japanese text, MangaFox.com is a free scanlation site that has a wide variety of Manga from mainstream to a few lesser known products. You might wanna try them if you still need a good site for free Manga. :)
I actually switched my bookmark to this shortly before making this thread.
I love to buy manga. I own a ton of it, trust me. Some of it just never reaches American shores. While other stuff is old and out of print. I'm sure you can get JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's old novels due to its immense popularity, but more obscure titles will be near to impossible to find. Especially in my small, podunk town. Curse my luck for living in the general southern half of the United States of America.

I live in norway...
1. I don't want to read the mangas in norwegian
2. If i'm gonna wait until it catches up with the japanese manga i'm gonna have to wait like 5 years for Naruto, Bleach and One Piece. I also follow Fairy Tail and that isn't even published here.

Oh well, back to "Horrible subs" for the anime with all it's fillers and bad jokes then...

Ouch.
I didn't even think about the non-English speakers. I blame my AMERICAN upbringing.
I honestly don't know what to say. I don't see how this will make them any business. 90% of the manga I read weren't even in my market. The other 10% wouldn't be in my market for years. Bleh.

Aw, man. I only went to OneManga for the stuff that never got released over here (like Red Eyes), or stuff that I was going to buy later when it was actually available (like FMA). This sucks. :\

You'd think companies like this would be smarter, and ask for, say, ad space or something so someone who likes the manga could go and buy it on Amazon, but no, we can't be smart about this.

Sad. I guess I'll have to research how to get a hold of manga where I live. There's only one store in town that sells manga, and the selection isn't the biggest. I also feel sad for all the manga that will never be officially translated to English.

I agree that the publishers probably won't earn anything from this.

Now, there are only a few of the mangas that are translated to Norwegian. I don't know where you live, but in my town the store that sells manga only carries the English translations.

It's like hearing that that reliable old dog of yours has to be put down...

If you're currently following some of the more popular series' check out mangastream.com (they tend to upload quickly but will only have like the 3 most recent chapters on there)

Well I have until it gets shut down to catch up on d gray man... challenge on

There's also AnimeFreak.com, that has manga. Whether it has all the new stuff or just some of the first few issues is something I'm not sure of.
This is what I was going to say pretty much, I stopped going to OneManga when I realized these guys updated faster on a more consistent basis.

You don't have to be melodramatic, theres plenty of fish(sites) in the sea(internet). Animefreak.tv updates Naruto and Bleach hellafast, you may want to try it.

OT: This is unfortionate. Onemanga was one of the few sites that went through the dumb filter on my schools computer (much like the Escapist :p) and it was where I started reading Manga. Sad day for baseball.

Gentlemen, take off your hats in respect.

I was reading this when something clcicked in the back of my mind.
Animefreak.tv, wasn't that... -checks bookamarks- -self facepalms-
I had only been utilizing half of its greatness up until this point.

Chicks and Studs, please stand up.

"We are here together, to remember and mourn away at the loss of a dearest website...A website that has been loyal to all of us, giving us the privilige to read manga's completely free of charge."

"However, as it grew older, time and time again it had to endure several storms of hatred amongst publishers, who wished to see it fade into darkness."

"Again and again it resurfaced victorious, untill the day had come that it had to finally bow to to the law of Life: What has begun, will eventually end."

"May you be remembered by those who have greatly enjoyed your vast amount of variety of manga's. You will be in our hearts forever, OneManga.com"

The dinette is now open.

I used OneManga, MangaFox, and MangaReader. I loved MangaReader because they have a few that others don't. With OneManga going, I'll just go find the stuff on the other two websites.

OneManga just hosted larger image scans, which was nice for the likes of the bathroom scene in Highschool of the Dead.

This is sad day... for most people. Luckily the site I use will still be up. It's a lot less reliable, got the most annoying adds ever, not quite as up to date as it should be but it gives the same as Onemanga. Although I have had to use Onemanga in the past and I shall be sad to see it go.
