It's stuff like this that makes me contemplate becoming gay just to spite homophobes, and then personally befriending their children (I'm joking of course, but sometimes it really is hard not to feel ashamed just for being straight, knowing that I on some level am associated with such asshats).

Ignoring the One million mom's thing it's probably going to be WW or Cyborg who comes out because Flash is currently dating I think, Aquaman is married, Supes has Lois and Dc probably wouldn't risk Batman since the backlash could be severe.

My money's on The Flash" too. But how awesome would it be if DC surprised everyone and made it Bruce Wayne? Conservatives have been on a Batman-high ever since "The Dark Knight" showed up and made the film primarily about stopping terrorism and using a PATRIOT Act-like machine to do it. That would just be a wonderful slap in the face.

It won't be The Flash, or pretty much any of the other suggestions in this thread (at least it's highly unlikely. DC have already stated that it's a character that hasn't been reintroduced yet, which cuts out a lot of the 'iconic' characters. It's also stated to be a man.

The current assumption going around that I've seen a lot is that it's Earth 2's Alan Scott; the original Green Lantern, although he has already been introduced into the new universive (albeit only for a single issue). I guess it could be The Flash of Earth 2 come to think about it, but definitely not Barry Allen since he's already been shown to be non-gay in the comics. There aren't really any male DC characters that haven't already been introduced that can be considered 'iconic', unless you take significant liberties with what that means.

Personally though, I would buy the shit out of a book that had a Oliver Queen/Hal Jordan romance. Get on it DC!

I don't think it's possible to convey just how ignorant these people are. I wish there was some way to reach them, but I don't think an intellectual debate with someone like this is really the solution.

Let's hope this kind of thinking simply fades in time.

Yeah this is not going to go anywhere; you can always count on OMM to jump in when there are homosexuals in the anything even remotely related to children.
Of course this is exactly what DC wants. It gets them free publicity. I wonder if OMM realises that yet?

By the way, homosexuality is a thing someone is born with, and realises it later in life.

People aren't born either straight or gay that's decided during puberty.

I hope you don't believe that but in case you're not being a deliberate troll you might want to look up a few things. Start with hormone imbalances in utero that cause hermaphrodites. Sexual orientation has been found to be caused by the hormone levels prenatal. Which is prior to birth, and prior to puberty. The treatment for hermaphrodite imbalance levels also happens to make it so that a girl isn't born a lesbian. In other words, their is a cure for "the gay" if it's treated prenatal.

Well a bit off topic, but I'm curious... Is there any real proof the media isn't creating gay children? I mean we obviously can't have any real factual numbers about the gay and lesbian communities growth in the past 80 years. So realistically couldn't one of the many factors in the surge in gay youth be attributed to the media? (Among other things.)

I don't care if the whole world goes gay, (I would prefer it honestly. Then I wont have as many people I wish would burn in a fire.) but as someone with little to no information on the topic of 'gays'... And not enough care to research it. I'd love someone to quote me with their proof/explanation/hate etc.

Have to agree. The only reasons I can see for picking an "Iconic" hero is so DC could get responces like those from the Million Mom's (no such thing a bad publicity) and laziness. If they really wanted a hero who is gay then they should write a new one. This is whole thing is just... Stupid!
