One Minute Reviews: Audiosurf

Audiosurf is a rhythm game in which you are required to collect different colored blocks that appear in time with the music track that forms the level. The levels themselves deserve special note as they are solely based upon the music that you have in your music library (iTunes or Otherwise). The game takes the music, runs it through an algorithm, and pumps out a level that almost always perfectly fits the beat and tempo of the song. The controls for the game are tight and it only occasionally feels like your ship is physically moving too slow to avoid certain colored blocks (which appropriately change color with the intensity of the song). With several methods of play to fit anyone's style and a literally unlimited song library, Audiosurf takes a simple concept and makes it into one of the best music rhythm games on the market today.

Price: $9.99 USD (On Steam or at the Audiosurf Website [http://www.audio-surf.com/]

Rating: Excelent (4.5/5 Stars)

...Well, Nice Work. You should do two minute reviews, Basic Description then a review of the game. Kinda lacks substance.

Yeah, I actually went back to it and added more. I agree and I'll definately start implementing that strategy in future reviews.

I LOVED this game for quite some time. Just a fabulous way to kill five minutes waiting for the shower to warm up, I tell you what. Gets a little old after the first three hundred runs, but I miss it now that it's gone.

Fast beats and epic, sweeping orchestral tracks work best.

By gone, do you mean off your computer, or completely vanished from sales? Because if it is the latter, I'm pretty sure Steam has it.

Ah yes, off my computer. I tend to delete stuff as soon as I'm bored and then regret it later. Sorry, should have been clear :)

It's cool. I figured as much, but I wanted to be sure that something didn't happen to the game between when I got it and now... I don't want to recommend a game that no longer exists.

It definitely still exists, else I wouldn't keep getting reminders of my high scores being overturned that goad me into firing the game up again and playing for unhealthy lengths of time, heh. Audiosurf is a blast.

Great review it sums up mostly all of Audiosurf, although you should talk a bit more about the records, achievements, and the Audiosurf Radio.
