Seriously, he basically invented modern physics. It's incredible how many thing he correctly proved or theorised.

totheark- Never a more creepy person.
Seriously, though, I'm the only person who I know well enough to be able to experience awe for, and I don't. Mild fascination, perhaps, but awe? No. The universe gets my awe.
Oh, and Cube (1997)

Let's see.

John F. Kennedy, for being as "good guy" as politican can get.

Erwin Rommel, for being not only original Magnificent Bastard, but not as much bastard as magnificent.

George Orwell, for giving us a best "how-to" guide ever warning about how fragile freedom of thought is.

Martin Luther King and Ghandi, for trying a nonviolent approach for once - and succeeding!

Say whatever you want, these people were cool. It's a shame there are no such great figures right now - but i guess new ones are right around the corner.

Definitely Gabe Newell. He's a god among men.
And of course, I have a shrine to Gabe Newell in my closet with the words "My God" painted in my own blood under his picture.

MU! SA! SHI!
MIYAMOTO!

Musashi's easily the most deadly person who ever existed, but what's more, he was a really nice guy! He once went to a duel with another samurai, but he told all his desciples to stay behind because he was morried that if he lost they'd kill his opponent out of revenge. What a cool guy he was!

Out of the computer game characters I can think of, most definitely Captain Price from Call of Duty, along with Minsc and Edwin from Baldur's Gate 1&2.

Real world awesomeness is a bit more tricky, considering how much of it there is. Einstein is about an example of human awesome as you can find. I'll add George Carlin, Sean Connery and Terry Pratchett to the list, as they're the first ones to spring to mind.
